Disclaimer: This just arrived in my in-box and is not made up by myself.
From Miguna: "Please watch a major announcement I will make on Jeff Koinange's Bench from 7:45-9pm on Thursday September 20th, 2012!" :
My view: Coming after the much publicized book tours and stage-managed drama, the predictabel Miguna Gowok now conveniently chooses the Kenyatta owned K-24 TV channel, and no less than the on-the-bench propaganda talk show hosted by Jeff Koinange to make his "major" announcement.
Rumours are abound that Miguna wants to run for political office. Others say he has penned another "explosive" book to be released sometime in December. Others opine Miguna will be joining one of the numerous political parties (except ODM).
One thing I know is guaranteed, Jeff Koinange will ask him leading questions that will inevitably lead Miguna to taking yet another swipe at ODM and its leadership. This is certain to happen.
Expect Miguna to gloat about the success of his recent controversial book and also praise the way the public has bought the book in millions.
The book promotional tours did not produce the desired effect and to Miguna's surprise, Kenyans are still electing ODM candidates to political office and to the surprise of many, the ODM is moving ahead with preparations for the 2013 general elections - all without the person who proclaims to have been the brains behind the success of ODM and Raila Odinga in 2007.
Kenyans long placed Miguna in the back burner and have moved on. The peeling book is long forgotten. Today's 'major announcement' is just but a ploy at courting attention and trying to achieve relevance.

I wonder where he has been hiding? what happened to his central province books promotions? it all went quiet.. as any Kenyans citizens he has a right to stand for public/political office anywhere in the country.. I predict it will be looking for Robot voters in Gatundu or Nyeri where he received "hero" welcome.. I bet you they will give him a governors positions in any of those ridings:) since he is their famous "son" and if he comes on Jeff Koinage's bench to throw insults and abuses at Kenyan citizens.. Kenyans will throw them right back at his face.. no time for games, propaganda and allegations anymore.. hold your horses here he comes!!

...... Kenyans are still electing ODM candidate s (toa hiyo) to political office and to the surprise of many, the ODM is moving ahead with preparations for the 2013 general elections - all without the person who proclaims to have been the brains behind the success of ODM and Raila Odinga in 2007. Phil The new board must have been the result of the fiasco on the Ndhiwa nominations where Raila had to read the people of Ndhiwa the riot act to elect Neto or he would deny them the chance to elect a president!!! Kenyans only elected one ODM candidate and despite Raila spending more time in Kajiado than even Ndhiwa his man was still +50% short on the winner whilst the other mungiki candidate he campaigned for got even fewer votes than Miguna at the Nyando nomination! I think Miguna would have given better advise than what your man is getting today!

Phil:
Greetings.
I really must call you so that we catch up face to face over a beer after such a long time.
It appears as if you are also in Miguna's phonebook because the message above was an SMS text that I received some time last night. Or else you are very close to someone who is.
That is neither here nor there.
I have not spoken to Miguna over the last couple of days so I am just as curious as the next person.
Since this announcement will be in a few short hours, I will refrain from any further speculation myself.

Sigh.... Has Jeff changed his show from 30 minutes to a whopping 1 hour & 15 minutes or is this a special arrangement for round two of un-masking?

Phil, I don't know what still excites you about Miguna that you have to create a new thread on a mere announcement he is about to make. The guy is as useless as they come so just give it up and forget about him. He does not add any sufurias of ugali on your table. I expect better from you man.

Phil,The only announcement Miguna can make that can be considered as "major" is to say he is shocked his book did not become the volcano he promised and seeks forgiveness from Raila and all those he has been trashing and further that he is taking time off from the public limelight to plot his come-back plans and even that (taking off time from the limelight) will be a stretch because life has a way of forcing one to do that anyway when all the lights are off and there is no limelight anymore as is of course beginning to be the case for Miguna. Everything else he announces cannot be "major" any more than his book was "volcanic" as he promised but did not deliver. Put another way, this has to be an effort to keep the few remaining minutes of fame and infamy last just a bit longer or stall the inevitable light dimmer.

Mwalimukuu, once they couldn't figure out whether they were reloading or sibanduki-ing it was pretty much game, shot, & match. It's really best to have one game plan & stick to it & not have one for the party hawks & another for the first-family-in-waiting ;D

Mwalimumkuu,
Let me repeat what I have been saying for months and that is, there is nothing Miguna can say or do that is ever going to fundamentally change the dynamics of the 2013 presidential elections and if there is, it's to the net gain of Raila and ODM much to the chagrin of Miguna and his cheerleaders as is clearly the case thus far and shall remain so to the end. Have you, for example, noticed the deafening silence from the political class on Miguna book who helped put the last nail to the so-called volcano coffin? I talked to someone who is good friends with a Raila opponent and asked her whether he/she (the opponent) read the book and the answer was not surprisingly no--even though he/she was "briefed" on the "juiciest" stuff in it. That tells you about all you would need to know to understand why the book was the flop yours truly predicted it would be.

OMG ! Big Announcement my *ss! Ati Miguna Miguna has declared his interest to be the Governor of Nairobi. Like Jobless puts it above, good for him. We shall be watching and listening especially given that I am yet to see a serious candidate for the otherwise very important seat of Nairobi governor, among those who have already declared interest.

Miguna will give a 10 point manifesto for Nairobi. I have deep reservations about the man's capability to lead. I also doubt his managerial capabilities notwithstanding that very few people will vote Miguna regardless of which party he runs on.

Phil:
I agree that he might have trouble attracting votes, but I would not be surprised if a whole bunch of the youth voted for him. As for managerial and leadership abilities, there are indeed some questions there. But a place like Nairobi needs a person who will crack heads, not hold hands and lament with the natives.
In addition to the qualities I have mentioned, Miguna is, as far as I can tell, totally untainted by corruption. Also, he has not compromised himself in dubious arrangements and so is not beholden to anyone. That has to be attractive to some voters, although a greater number of voters may go with tribalistic or robotic tendencies.
I think his biggest issue could be finance, although I have no idea of what sort or money would be required or how deep his pockets are. Still, all in all, I wouldn't be too quick to rule out his chances.
