Fellow JukwaaistsI sincerely apologise for starting another 'Miguna' topic. People must be getting tired already. But I felt this was an important and substantially different take on Miguna's new book. Here, we will dedicate discussion to unearthing the inconsistency and hypocrisy that surrounds Miguna Miguna. I invite readers to join me on this journey. Consider that Miguna has been writing about Raila, Kenyan politics and the subject of Post Election Violence for a while. There are hundreds of articles to look at. A review of what he said before and what he says in his book undermines his credibility as a thoughtful public intellectual. In American political parlance, Miguna would be a flip-flopper par excellence. We would say, 'he was for it, before he was against it' ON RAILA AMOLO ODINGA:Saturday September 1st, 2007…….Given his stellar record, stamina, commitment, ability to mobilize and his unmatched connection with the ordinary people of Kenya, it might be a grave error to write-off the Agwambo…..
…… in modern Kenyan politics, he (Raila) has become an unstoppable phenomenon….
…… Raila is an agent of change. His entire vision encapsulates the people's desire for positive fundamental changes for the country. A desire for a people-oriented constitution that devolves power from the centre (Nairobi) to the regions; that shares out presidential powers.…… July 9th 2007..... Whether we like it or not, Raila Amolo Odinga, the man millions of Kenyans love to simply refer to as Agwambo, Tinga, Nyundo, Hummer or Owad ga Akinyi, has been installed as the undisputed reigning political figure in Kenya today.....
......Raila commands his position at the top through sheer hard work, dedication, courage and unrelenting consistency. He listens to the people before he utters any word. He does not arrogantly order anyone to follow, agree with or support him. Millions of Kenyans are with Raila Odinga because they trust him. They trust that he will bring them the necessary changes they have yearned for since independence.
Forget about the pretentious high-brow intellectual equivocations and tribal manipulative bullcrap that have been tried in the recent past to deny this great son of Africa his rightful place in our society. Forget, too, the selfish shenanigans of some discredited inflated empty egos ……
The more Raila marvels us, the more we coin new nicknames for him. In fact, in the manufacture of political nicknames of reverence, Raila is king. While Kenyans gave President Kibaki the non-endearing General Keguoya (fence sitter) nickname, for example, they crowned Raila with Tinga(the tractor), Agwambo (the mysterious one), Nyundo (the hammer) and Owad ga Akinyi (Akinyi's brother) monikers
Miguna dismisses Otuoma Ongalo’s views on Raila as pedestrianwww.migunamiguna.com/articles/view/index.php?id=117In this article Njuguna Njuguna hits hard at the notion that Raila was a poor manager, making decisions without the benefit of the pentagon. At one point he states: “Since entering active politics, Raila has consistently pursued the realization of good governance, the rule of law and constitutionalism in Kenya. He has been involved in the struggle for a people-focused constitution throughout his adult life. Both as the Prime Minister and ODM leader, Raila has been more than tolerant to dissent…” Yet in his book Miguna suggests the complete opposite, deriding Raila’s management capabilities and suggesting that he is not a reformer. What happened to 'Raila's adult life' in the few months since Miguna was fired? Which Raila is which, Miguna? Can we really take Miguna's words at face value especially given his publicly stated views on Raila? When was Miguna sober and when was he drunk? Let us turn our attention to Miguna on William Ruto. MIGUNA ON WILLIAM RUTOThere are so many articles and views but here is a typicalk example: William Ruto is a spoilt brat with a laser sharp tongue. He is also a cry baby. In another life, he would have made an excellent second-hand car salesman. Ruto changes colour more frequently and far better than a chameleon. At university, he sang his lungs out at the Christian Union Choir. That’s before he discovered that such talent was cherished by the Moi-Kanu dictatorship. In the process, he made loads of millions without breaking a sweat. Using such means in North America would have easily landed someone in jail. But this is Kenya. Many have credited Ruto’s sharp and forked tongue for the steep rise. Others have said it is due to the efficient ruthlessness and chameleon traits. Suddenly, Ruto is a hardworking politician who is generous to a fault? MIGUNA ON POST ELECTION VIOLENCEPerhaps the most short-sighted and silly claims to have been uttered were Miguna's claims that he had evidence that could send all the top leaders to the Hague. This goes against everything Miguna has said so far. In a mockery at the plight of the Ocampi six, he wrote the Den Hague Diaries www.the-star.co.ke/opinions/miguna-miguna/20661-den-haag-journal-escorting-the-ocampo-six-to-the-icc-In those 'diaries' he took on Najib Balala for asking that Raila Odinga and Kibaki be taken to the Hague. In his own words, he adviced Balala: .....He (Balala) is, of course, free to present evidence to the ICC Prosecutor so that those allegations can be investigated. However, as long as those demands are only made for parochial political convenience, the Prosecutor will continue to ignore them. The judicial process at Den Haag isn’t political. Moreno Ocampo has said that often. It is a judicial process. Let’s encourage those with credible evidence to tender it in the normal course. Even the suspects are free to implicate anybody. They are equally free to summon Raila and Kibaki as witnesses, with a caveat: unless one is your alibi or witness; you risk calling witnesses who will deny everything and worsen your predicament. If I were Ruto and Uhuru, I would listen to the advice by Justice Ekaterina Trendafilova: Relax and let your professional lawyers handle your cases. You are, of course, free to fire the lawyers and act for yourself, at the risk that you will be jumping from the witness box to the counsel table during cross-examination. Why can't Miguna take his own advice instead of issuing the political and dramatic statements that he warned Najib against? Is this NOT pure hypocrisy?

Looking at the facts, one thing is clear: Miguna(x2) is lying. What is not easy to see is when: was he lying then (all those things that he said in support of this man Agwambo) or is he lying now (all these things that he is now claiming against Tinga).
I am afraid most people will think (after all that he has been through and has been doing) that he is lying now, especially those who, in the course of the journey of Miguna in ODM have been rubbed the wrong way (and believe you me, there are many many many, people who would not care too much about the politics of ODM and PNU but just wanted the best for the country, AND MIGUNA RUBBED THEM THE WRONG WAY MORE THAN ONCE).

Euonyi;
Yes. Spot on. This is the point. Miguna is either lying now, or he was lying for all those years right up to last year. It is a serious credibility problem. When the dust of euphoria has settled, people will ask questions.
In the US, presidential aspirant Mitt Romney is dealing with such a contradiction. He says he left Bain Capital in early 99, but mounting evidence including documents suggest he was still CEO and owner of Bain Capital until 2002. He earned a salary from it and was quoted in company documents. This could derail the Romney campaign.
I use this example to illustrate the fact that Miguna’s earlier statements are relevant to any assessments of his truthfulness, motives among others.
It also highlights the reason why such books cannot be written in a hurry to meet election deadlines. The book simply had to be published now in order to hurt Raila Odinga. Such books should be the product of a writers’ balanced view. When written in the heat of anger or emotion, they are stripped of long term socio-political value. But when written dispassionately, they can be useful mirrors.

Don't be generous to this guy. One adjective: TURNCOAT I agree. I am only demonstrating the hypocrisy of the turncoat in his own words. Here is a bit more: STILL ON POST ELECTIONS VIOLENCEHere is Miguna’s writing on ODM’s culpability when it comes to PEV. ............. So now Miguna, suddenly has evidence that ODM was involved in PEV?

RR,
Honestly, I don’t much care about discussing MM or his reasons for sharing; he’s not in the running to be our president. RAO is and that’s where I focus my attention (among all the presidential wannabes). Focusing on MM leaves more than 90% of the story untold, a story we may have to live with for one or two terms as from 2013. I would rather we settle this matter now, once and for all.
With that said, reading through all the threads bashing the living poop outta MM, the general consensus coming from the great thinkers of Jukwaa as pertains the corruption in the PM’s office led by Caroli and Isahakia is not only astounding but also raises the great question which is this; is RAO, like Kibaki, truly incompetent in running his half of the government or is he, like Kibaki, seriously not giving a hoot about corruption, so long as it’s practiced by his homeboys?
The bad news (for staunch ODM apologists) is, it logically follows that it can and must be one or the other, nothing else. I mean really, in part based on the posts from Jukwaa’s great thinkers and debaters confirming the existence of the corruption allegations against Caroli, Isahakia, et all, it most definitely can’t be anything else. Thus whether MM is getting a ton of bucks from the DN, is a turncoat, is spiteful due to being unceremoniously booted out, debating the definition of the word serialize, room curtains, or whatever is just pointless arguments, however deflective entertaining they may be.
So, leaving aside MM, can anyone please rationally explain why RAO doesn’t seem at all eager in taking any action against the alleged corruption in his office and ODM ministries and how we, the voters, may make an informed decision at the ballot box?
P.S.
From what I know, and I could be wrong, Miguna is from Nyanza and is a Kenyan Luo. Can someone kindly enlighten me on why the moniker Njuguna Njuguna (a name associated with Kenyan Kikuyus) is now being sarcastically applied to Miguna in an amusing manner?

Thank you RR for exposing who this (lack of a better adjective) is. How ironical would it be that you yap all those negatives about a soul and yet your personal website says otherwise.
It's true the dude is so bitter after he lost his job. No need to write a 500 page of hearsay. Bure kabisa!

"I hold it to be of great prudence for men to abstain from threats and insulting words towards any one, for neither the one nor the other in any way diminishes the strength of the enemy; but the one makes him more cautious, and the other increases his hatred of you, and makes him more persevering in his efforts to injure you"

Can someone kindly enlighten me on why the moniker Njuguna Njuguna (a name associated with Kenyan Kikuyus) is now being sarcastically applied to Miguna in an amusing manner? Greetings Horth! Your take above suggests that you accept Miguna's claims as true, veracious and worthy of response. I urge you to suspend judgement. But here are some direct responses to your views. 1. Miguna is NOT running for president, Raila is. Agreed. But it is Miguna who making claims against Raila. Are these claims credible? In order to test credibility we must look carefully at the man making them, and what he has previously said. I am surprised at how some people have rushed to accept Miguna’s statements as gospel truth. Some, even without reading the book have asked the PM to resign. Yet the book does not really touch Raila directly. If we can show that Miguna is not only lying but serving a transparent PNU/G7 agenda, then we can begin to discredit his generalized and baseless claims against the people in Raila’s office. We cannot leave MM aside, as you suggest since he is the one making claims. His motivation and previous thoughts are central to whether people chose to believe his claims. 2. Secondly, and specifically on corruption: what we have heard are claims which are not necessarily new. Nothing is backed by an iota of evidence. There is plenty of ‘I heard this, and so and so told me that’. Gossip! Miguna has simply regurgitated what Raila’s opponents have been saying as ‘propaganda’ because they can hardly find significant things to damage Raila with. How should the PM act on general claims? If there was good evidence, don’t you think the significant array of Raila enemies would have acted on it? For example, on the Maize scandal, there is a PWC forensic report that essentially exonerates Caroli Omondi. Or, take the breathless report to Raila that 'Raila, Raila, Karoli has bought Heron Court hotel'... that by itself is meaningless. If Miguna felt it was corruption he should have investigated the sources of funds and provided information on the ownership of the hotel. Those who know karoli are now saying Miguna had simply no idea who karoli was or what he did before joining government. To fight corruption, you need actionable specifics. PM Raila does not have those. 3. Finally, Njuguna Njuguna is a satirical moniker based not unlike arap Mibei, Njamba and so on. I believe, you are intelligent enough to see where it comes from. (hint: who are Miguna's new political pals?)

RR,
I’m looking at the bigger picture here. You’re still focusing on MM.
If RAO cannot control his office, whether it’s firing MM so acrimoniously he had to write a book or the corruption allegations, how the heck can we expect him to control the whole country come the next elections should he win? I mean, why hasn’t RAO stood up and categorically denied those allegations if they’re baseless? As a voter and taxpayer (whose tax money is supposedly being used on $5’000.00 suits), it’s my right to demand answers.
Oh yeah, before I forget; who are MM’s new pals? I don’t seem to know of them.
P.S.
That…ummm…..avatar….ahem….forget it.

RR,From what I know, and I could be wrong, Miguna is from Nyanza and is a Kenyan Luo. Can someone kindly enlighten me on why the moniker Njuguna Njuguna (a name associated with Kenyan Kikuyus) is now being sarcastically applied to Miguna in an amusing manner? Last night, a compatriot who, like reporter911 yesterday, had had a lot of something small, let me in on a secret that he claimed is known only to a very small group of people: Miguna is actually not a Luo; he became one in the say way that Saitoti became a Maasai. Miguna's people are originally from Murang'a. This is known to the PNU people who trust and use him. Unfortunately, he has now been "outed" by Muite, who revealed that his real name is Njuguna Njuguna. But, wait! There's more! The PNU actually planted him as a deep-mole inside the ODM camp. His job was to collect as much dirt as possible and then reveal it just before the elections. That he has now done. My source was about to reveal even deeper secrets, but he had to rush into the bathroom to throw up.

Isn't it amazing how easy it is to spot a spin doctor? You are the lot that, unknowingly, entrenches impunity in Kenya - Moi had his, Mzee Unyatoa had his, Ubaki has his and Nyef Nyef has his as well! Imagine for a minute you were not a spin doctor and tell the world if you condemn or condone what MM has raised regarding the integrity of ODDM leadership!! As for MM's integrity, you can write your book and let us make our assessment. It is the integrity of the ODDM that we are focusing on here, because unlike MM, they are seeking to manage the affairs of our country in just a couple of months! and that means MIGUNA HAS TO PROOF TO KENYANS that all his claims are TRUE ama? the people being accused "politicians, none politicians some running in the next elections.. but the argument remains if Miguna is making all this claims on this individuals the ball is in his court to produce the proof following the allegations in his so called booklet and not the other way round.. UHURU IS STANDING FOR PRESIDENCY.... yet he has an appointment at the HAGUE "ICC" to answer to the PEV case.. RUTO IS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENCY ... he too has an appointment at the HAGUE to answer the PEV CASE IN THE TWO CASES, material "proof" has been collected and witnesses lined up.. that is why there is a case.. WHERE IS MIGUNA'S PROOF? in regards to his ALLEGATIONS? just hot air

RR,I’m looking at the bigger picture here. It is every Kenyans right to know the truth!! that simple! LET MIGUNA PRODUCE PROOF in regards to his allegations in his book.. what is so difficult.. like husband or wife being accused of cheating... does one divorce a wife or husband because of hearsay? or one must produce proof following the allegations? ALLEGATIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED BY PROOF..wait a minute.. not fake notes in Miguna's handwritten written while he was producing his book! Kenyans want to see hardcore tapes of discussions taking place about how ODM was going to Massacre Innocent Kenyans during the PEV!! lets start with that claim from Miguna please!

Yup!! that maybe be so BUT HE STILL HAS TO PRODUCE PROOF ABOUT HIS ALLEGATIONS IN MADE IN THE BOOK!! whether he is a Njuguna born in CENTRAL PROVINCE OR NOT!! many rumors and whispers in Toronto too in regards to his alleged " RAPE CASE" maybe PNU branch can shade light to this saga since they may have used him as a mole too if indeed the rape allegations from the WITNESSES are true.. LET PNU " CLUE US in whether MIGUNA AKA NJUGUNA got off on Technicalities ama? WHO CARES WHETHER HE WAS A PNU MOLE! the facts remain he alleged he has information in regards to PEV let him table it PRONTO!!!!!!!!
