Press Statement by Miguna, Toronto, August 13, 2012:
In view of the malicious report when I traveled to Canada on July 16th, 2012 that I had fled into exile (as if I needed anyone's permission or had to give anyone prior notice to travel outside the country), when my family and I have enjoyed a refreshing and productive one-month vacation, I wish to announce that my return flight is scheduled to land at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on August 16th, 2012 at about 8pm.
God willing, I will address the press and deal with some of the issues that have been raised about me during my absence.
Subsequently (days after my return), I will go on a 47-County Tour, to launch and sign the book (county-by-county), and to engage Kenyans on the most burning issues of the day: unemployment, tribalism, malfeasance in public office, specifically grand corruption (especially of state and public officers), nepotism and the reemergence of intolerance in Kenya.
As a country, we must ensure that the Constitution is adhered to in letter and spirit by everyone - leaders and ordinary citizens alike!
From Canada, with Love!
Miguna Miguna Toronto, Ontario, Canada

I thought what most Kenyans wanted answers to was in regards to his book and Media announcements?. why didn't he stay put to answer some of the questions Kenyans needed answers to like " WHY WAS HE WITHHOLDING CRUCIAL INFORMATION IN REGARDS TO THE "PEV".. is he coming to answer that question? and is he going to hand over the information to the Kenya police or ICC? it is not about hate.. it is about answering questions to what he said in his book and on national T.V .. that is my opinion..

It is easy, is it not, to hide behind your keyboard and disposable handle and hurl insults at people you have never met. This is the fastest growing blood sport in Kenya today. Chuckle. My last on this. OO

My last on this. OO The Internet allows every human being to say what they have to say anonymously.. why not? it is like a whistle-blowers platform..I'm glad that most Kenyans use it.. We don't know most of the politicians running our government personally but we read and hear about their actions in parliament or otherwise.. and that is why we as Jukwaa members can post our opinions, thoughts and comments on what we read in the press, hear from the ground or hear form people that we know in Kenya.. When one insults others then he/she should expect the same it is a two way traffic.. Finally what do you mean by these statement? who is throwing insults and at whom? most Jukwaa members and Kenyans at large have only asked questions of Miguna. in regards to his book and public announcements. I included " mine still remains .. WHY IS MIGUNA WITHHOLDING CRUCIAL "PEV" INFORMATION? is this an insult? NOPE.. he announced publicly on national T.V that he has such information..ivyo tuu.. I for one will remain behind my Keyboard and keep asking the same question, I trust as the owner and administrator of Jukwaa blog you promised to protect all members identities and that is why we choose to blog anonymously!!who are you implying that has not met Miguna? and how would you know? can you name names? Just curious...

Welcome back, ndugu. Please stay away from any mention of the PEV. good call i see where you are headed with this, but unfortunately, the tony g's of this world have not just already taken the baton, but have also created their own sport, rules and gameplan. the greatest tragedy is when a very intelligent guy, and typically with the best interest at heart, suddenly finds himself caught up in mischievous machinations, and despite spirited intellectual effort, suddenly find themselves manipulated as pawns. besides the disbelief and denial, there is much pain. this is what i think miguna is headed into, just like the hoja alliance and its no surprise because the puppeteers in both cases report to the same paymaster. anyway will wait as usual to see what new revelations come. i got a feeling some more "shocking and new evidence" will surface on Itumbi's site

OO bw. oloo there are a lot of people who were disappointed with miguna and created these stories, but miguna does not help the situation writing that you are coming back to announce your plans. this kind of reminds me PLO, who would announce that he would be making an announcement my point is this, there are many kenyans flying in and out of the country. no press ads, no announcements. fly in and fly out if he has chosen to publicly announce his fly in, thats ok too, but that's like pinning a dart board on a bulletin board, the reactions will be obvious in fact am surprised no one has put up the musical "come baby come" i think anytime you post one of these miguna articles, we should expect a game of darts.

I think it is very moronic for someone who has expressed concerns about his “security” to come out and broadcast his itinerary in broad daylight. People need to take responsibility of their own security first before crying to the police that some other people may be after their lives. Bure kabisa

This can be attributed to 2 things: (1) the disjointed nature of its response to Miguna's allegations in his kiss & tell tome, & (2) the on-going power struggle as Ida steps on party hack toes to make sure her hubby goes to state house. These events, one from the outside & the other from within, have knocked ODM off kilter & made them a reactive rather than the proactive party they used to be. They no longer set the agenda as they are permanently in damage control mode.

As a country, we must ensure that the Constitution is adhered to in letter and spirit by everyone - leaders and ordinary citizens alike! From Canada, with Love! Miguna Miguna Toronto, Ontario, Canada Brother OO,It was good meeting again in Nairobi the other day. Having been on the ground and talked to people from various backgrounds, I can confirm much of what most of us have been saying about Miguna and his misguided publishing of his book has been vindicated. His return to Kenya is of no consequence to the extent it would do nothing but make worse most people's impressions of him--minus the anti-Raila crowd, of course--if that's even possible and what they make of his now largely despised book. Wiser counsel is for him to remain out of the country and even try to peddle his book to the few anti-Railaists in the Diaspora with still an appetite to buy the book for even many of them don't really care to read it anymore. As for Kenya, it's a waste of time as the book has already flopped as yours truly and others predicted. No one wants to be seen with the book lest they be dismissed as fond of gossip and the salacious. Indeed, having the book on one's hand is no different than clinging to a porn magazine in some quarters. Those who don't mind being seen as such can't afford it. Those who can afford it and don't mind reading in the privacy of their homes or away from public don't have to because they can read it for free online. Such is the nature of these things and if Miguna had not figured this and asked for a hefty advance, it shall all been for naught. I said in one of my blogs that MM has a better chance of being welcome in Othaya to vie for Kibaki's seat than anywhere especially in Nyanza where he's as much welcome as a skunk at a picnic but judging from what I have been hearing along the circles I hang-out, Miguna will be lucky to find a single person who would wish to be seen with him and I can even venture to say even those who were with him before are having second thoughts and won't want anything to do with him--what with the manner he has betrayed confidences of all manner of people and thrown even friends under the bus just to advance his one man self-destructing mission. Anyway, my take is you're probably the last of his few remaining friends of this man--and I of course don't include Raila haters who by definition do not qualify as friends but it's too late to even ask you as his friend to pass any counsel to him. You know Miguna would have no friends among men when even women find it despicable that he deemed it appropriate to discuss--true or false--bedroom affairs of politicians, let alone their wives. It's simply baffling though not surprising what he was thinking about when writing some of these things that make him come across as nothing but a vindictive man with an ax to grind and nothing more. As it that in by itself was not worse, he tops it off by "Come baby Come," which officially reduced him to a joke in addition to the vindictive man with an ax to grind. By any objective measure, the harm Miguna has inflicted upon himself is permanent and irreparable. When the man says he is retuning home to a 47-County book tour, it only goes to confirm how much harm and damage he has suffered from his uncontrolled rage and vindictiveness. I wish him no ill but hope he soon steps out of this world of maddening rage and vindictiveness he is obviously living in and and return to the world the rest of us live in whereby people draw lines of reasonableness and common sense beyond which they don't cross lest they come across as silly, petty or simply mad. I am sure some in society may welcome him back if he climbs down from this world of self-importance, rage and vindictiveness and admits he, too, is mortal and makes mistakes as he clearly has. Please check your inbox.

But on a more serious note, I think majority came to realization that they are hunting with hyenas who have neither respect nor regard for Kenyans. Conmen per excellence, if you may.

Mwalimumkuu,Let me give you a free lesson in debate and analysis I have given others before. In debate or analysis, you state a proposition and then support it with sound reasoning and/or facts, if you have any brains or struggle to say something that only makes sense to yourself, if the brain is not fully developed or has issues. Merely blurting the assertion "despite the lies by the Omwengas" does not turn anything the Omwengas say into lies merely because Mwalimumkuu says so; if you wish to be a debater worth someone like yours truly taking time to read what you say, support what you say with either facts, reasoning or analysis unless you're incapable of doing so in which case you're free to say and blurt anything as you wish. Put another way, I dare you to post one thing I have said and provide links and reasons why you think its a lie. One thing. If you can't, then I kindly ask you to stop the nonsense of referring to what I say as a lie.

I think Miguna has a right to announce his coming back to Kenya because many people falsely claimed he had fled the country. What made the matter worse was that the cops were looking for him at his home in Runda the day after he left. The cops were following orders from the the DPP Mr. Tobiko and the Police boss Mr. Iteere who wanted Miguna to provide the evidence he loudly claimed to have which would send some powerful people, presumably Mr. Raila Odinga to the Hague for being involved in the PEV.
Many of us have demanded from Miguna loudlly, that if he indeed has the information he cliamed he had regarding Raila and others being the masterminds of the PEV then he has a duty and responsibility to the victims of the PEV, and to the whole country to provide that information to the ICC or other investigative authorities so that the alleged suspects can be apprehended and brought to justice. We have equally demanded that if Miguna is lying about having any such evidence for purpose of character assassination and to sell his book then he should be demnounced as a conman and a fraud. You cannot fight impunity by withholding information about mass murder in the country as some kind of ransom to blackmail people and to use them for future books. Neither can you claim to fight impunity by lying openly to the public for personal profit.
Miguna therefore has no choice about the PEV issue which he made a key piece of his speech at the book launch. If he has that information it has to be handed over to the authorities. If has no such information he should eqaully come clear and let Kenyans make their judgments about him. Miguna cannot have it both ways. In any event since the cops were looking for Miguna on the same matter, it will be interesting to see how the cops handle the matter now.

You are being threatened with lynching if you visit some parts of the country. Others are clearly telling you that it might not be safe visiting your country, and you would better stay abroad.....and this at a time that we are chest-thumbing about our hard earned democracy and freedom. You even risk being arrested and subjected to unknown consequences. Let me assure you that a majority of those who have read the book are with you.
