Ladies and gentlemen of Jukwaa, Allow me to take this opportunity to convey my special greetings to all members of Jukwaa during this special festive season. I take note of the fact that various people will be celebrating the same but giving it different meanings. Some will be celebrating the Christmas day as it is meant to be and for others it is but a special holiday season of some sort. Nevertheless, it is undoubtedly a special holiday for many. In no particular order, I would like to offer my seasons greetings to our brother Kamalet and his elderly mother. I hold him with special respect and status in Jukwaa and his unique contributions in this forum have been one of its important cornerstone which make it constantly thrive with respect and dignified content of diversity that it enjoys to date. My second festive acknowledgment goes to Otishotish and our esteemed brother Jakaswanga. It goes without saying that the two of you have managed to keep Jukwaa active, stimulating, informative and entertaining all at once! Your regular contributions here have given us the strength and hope that Jukwaa will ever be outstanding as a political forum like no other in cyber forums. Third in the list as it comes through my mind is the special acknowledgment to our lady of the house Reporter911! I must admit that I do admire Reporter's resilience and endurance in this forum and the courage she portrays by 'taking it on the chin' every time someone throws a barb at her 'grip' on the many issues that afflict our country. Whilst many a time Reporter may be perceived as thorn in the backside, she does nevertheless raises critical questions from time to time and her special contributions makes Jukwaa feel alive and kicking, day in day out! I honestly sometimes wish I could meet Reporter face to face if only to see how friendly and likable she could prove to be in person! Reporter, I wouldn't mind having some of your 'steel' in some of my sisters' make, but certainly not in my wife! I also would like to acknowledge the following for their lively and special contributions, which make Jukwaa for what it is today: To Mwalimumkuu, skewed as he may be in favour of Jubilee, Mwalimu's contribution make having a diverse forum such as jukwaa to be special. I can imagine how boring it would have been if all Jukwaaists were to sing the same song, in sync but without counter arguments to engage oneself with! Some forums come to mind. To joblesscorner and nok, yes we read you and appreciate your input. My special greetings also go to our beloved sister Nereah, the majestic lady of the "round table" who heps us from time time to get that feeling that all is not that lost. Nereah, please convey my special regards to your sister-in-law mrembo, who we miss her glowing presence time and again. My best wishes and greetings should also go to our sister Kathure and her son in the cold lands of the north this winter. We have not heard from you lately and just hope everything is OK. Stay warm and wish you wellness of health and wealth as we usher in the 2013. My greetings too to marikopolitico, emali, deyiengs, Luol Deng, mzeiya, gateway, subsaharanite, euonyi, amadain, manofletters, man, mzee, einstein, B6K and all others who have been keeping us going for what it is worth. I also could not forget those who have not been seen lately, like Horth and Marlin of Ukunda, from whom I miss their wise and sober input. lastly but not least, I must state that I miss the presence and valuable input from our brothers who have migrated exclusively to other forums: To Daktari Job, Adongo and tnk, Jukwaa is still your home and I would like you to reconsider your absence and welcome you back to Jukwaa, even if DC it still your preference and I respect that. I would like to think that Jukwaa is not in competition with DC and we are here to compliment one another and enrich the positive debates on matters pertaining to our motherland and we should unite and remain on the cause together, even if without some sort of an MoU a la CORD and Jubilee's coalitions pacts! To Political Maniac, it has been a long absence and I hope and wish everything is OK with yourself and family and all others in your good and generous home! To the many other Jukwaa "lurkers" who I may not have mentioned their names in here, I wish you a great holiday and call on you to stay with us as we plough along as we do. And to the bereaved and the sick, I wish and pary for their immediate strength, recovery, peace of mind and hope that you may positively thrive once again and continue to enjoy satisfying and pleasing lives. Lastly but not least, greetings to our respectable friend Oloo and thank you for your invaluable and noble effort towards making Jukwaa what it is for the last seven plus years! Finally, let me wish you all a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year as we usher in the year 2013! May God bless you all.

On reflection, I was afraid that I was going to omit some names, perhaps one or two which should be very obvious not to be omitted due to their significant presence in Jukwaa.
To podp, please accept my humble bow specifically performed for you. Whilst at it, let me wish you the best of health, peace and wealth, to be realised right from the beginning of the coming new year!
Your philosophical input gives us invaluable benefits to our puzzled minds and it does provide us with useful probing tools, as we try to piece together this chaotic world of ours.
Thank you ndugu.

Your philosophical input gives us invaluable benefits to our puzzled minds and it does provide us with useful probing tools, as we try to piece together this chaotic world of ours. Thank you ndugu. ahsante for the compliments and best wishes to you too for 2013 according to James Gleick, author of Chaos : Making a New Science , chaos theory is "a revolution not of technology, like the laser revolution or the computer revolution, but a revolution of ideas. This revolution began with a set of ideas having to do with disorder in nature: from turbulence in fluids, to the erratic flows of epidemics, to the arrhythmic writhing of a human heart in the moments before death. It has continued with an even broader set of ideas that might be better classified under the rubric of complexity." why all the above? Richard Feynman pointed out, "Physicists like to think that all you have to do is say, these are the conditions, now what happens next?" when you come to the world of human beings interacting as we see, say at our political front, and hear talks of the devil this and the devil that; dark forces; then the CORD, Jubilee, Eagle, lone rangers, etc one cannot with certainty predict who will be PORK or which version of alliance or coalition will be in charge or the dark forces will continue playing havoc! why the Somali incursion by our KDF? having tasted ability, power and might to overrun and control land in foreign why and what stops them replicating that in Kenya? could they be the dark forces (a combination of securi-bureaucratic and old money players used to having things their way and now with the Constitution if implemented will do away with their impunity) that are sending messages to all and sundry with the new flareups of insecurity in Tana delta, Baragoi etc. that despite CORD, Jubilee etc. emerging they are and will control the destiny of Kenya tomorrow? in a scientific context, the word chaos has a slightly different meaning than it does in its general usage as a state of confusion, lacking any order. Chaos, with reference to chaos theory, refers to an apparent lack of order in a system that nevertheless obeys particular laws or rules; this understanding of chaos is synonymous with dynamical instability, a condition discovered by the physicist Henri Poincare in the early 20th century that refers to an inherent lack of predictability in some physical systems. Lorenz, a meteorologist, was running computerized equations to theoretically model and predict weather conditions. Having run a particular sequence, he decided to replicate it. Lorenz reentered the number from his printout, taken half-way through the sequence, and left it to run. What he found upon his return was, contrary to his expectations, these results were radically different from his first outcomes. Lorenz had, in fact, entered not precisely the same number, .506127, but the rounded figure of .506. According to all scientific expectations at that time, the resulting sequence should have differed only very slightly from the original trial, because measurement to three decimal places was considered to be fairly precise. Because the two figures were considered to be almost the same, the results should have likewise been similar. Since repeated experimentation proved otherwise, Lorenz concluded that the slightest difference in initial conditions - beyond human ability to measure - made prediction of past or future outcomes impossible, an idea that violated the basic conventions of physics.

Jukwaaist,Nashukuru! Ahsante kwa kunikumbuka. In keeping up with time, we have 67/68 days before election, I would like everyone to be reminded, KENYA comes first, elected better leaders and accept Kenyans decision, whoever becomes the president. I believe our third stanza reminds us that. "Natujenge taifa letu Ee, ndio wajibu wetu Kenya istahili heshima Tuungane mikono Pamoja kazini Kila siku tuwe na shukrani" abdulmoteJAK

Friend Abdulmote:
I hear you. And I join you in wishing all Jukwaaists the best in 2013. Oh, and many thanks for the kind words, but to put me in the same sentence as Jakaswanga! Never mind ... it's the Season of Goodwill, and we shall extend some to Ms. Karua & Co.
Next week, I have a cyber-friend and his family visiting me from Brazil. We "met" via a forum such as Jukwaa, we share many interests and concerns, and our spouses and children have since met vis Skype. There are many Jukwaaists that I'm keen to meet in person, and I hope that will happen. (I take back my previous comments on wringing some necks and caning some people.)
2013 looks set to be a very "interesting" year for our country; in particular, I expect a lot of heat around the ICC issue. I have few illusions that the elections will bring about any substantial change: at every election, we toss out one bunch of bums and promptly replace them with another bunch. Still, countries are a bit like spouses---even when you have a crappy one, that's the one you love.
Jukwaaists are all over the globe and into all sorts of things (legal, I hope). But at the end of the day, we are all here because of our connections to and deep feelings about Kenya. We might express this in different ways, but in the end it's all the same. I hope we shall all remember this when things get sticky in 2013.
But it is still 2012 ... so to all my fellow Jukwaaists: I wish you all the best in the new year!

And from me to all Jukwaaists, old and new, Heri ya Mwaka Mpya 2013. Blessings, health and -of course- happiness.
And with 2013 around the corner, maybe this is a good time for those who have left us since the middle of 2012 to reflect and to consider coming back. During the coming months we should all be contributing to making this the most informative and insightful blog about political developments in Kenya. That is one way of assisting as many voters as possible to make an informed choice. I know we have it in us to do that.
