PM,
Hatton is a good fighter, but I am putting my money on Manny Pacquiao.
The filipino is simply the best there is.

PM, Did you watch it this? That was a no contest. Hatton destroyed in 2nd round! Swamped: Manny Pacquiao's power and accuracy were too much for Ricky Hatton to handle Photo: REUTERS

phil And others, here is the video of the BEAT DOWN! Wow Manny "pacman" is no joke! And his trainer Fred Roach, in a smooth low key voice said it will be to Hattons future safe health, if the fight doesnt go past 2 rounds. Talking of trainers, Hattons trainer, Floyd Snr, has a way too big a mouth, he spews a lot on bravado nonsense.

This is a beautiful sport and has a lot more going than simply throwing punches aimlessly. We should not fall for verbiage that accompanies the fight, it is called hype, hype brings attention, and attention brings in the money!! I suppose we recall the biggest motor mouth that has lived, i.e. the Louisville motor mouth
Mayweather senior as a trainer (as a matter of fact one of the best) has backed all his words previously, one name for you i.e. Golden Boy (Oscar). Mayweather senior was his trainer all through his career except towards the end i.e. before the Mayweather Jnr fight.
As far the the Pacman fight is concerned, Ricky was outsmarted by the South paw who has put in some serious work on his right hook. Yes, Rickey did not see that coming, that was the same punch the confused the slow Golden boy. Adding onto that Ricky being stubborn followed his own game plan rather than what Mayweather senior had trained him for. I am not making that up, but all you have to do is listen to the instructions he gives Ricky at the end of the first round i.e. move your head, use the …..
At the end of the day Pac man demonstrated excellent, excellent skills, with super speed and strength.

sky, you are right, Hattons head was immobile, a stationary target. Well he got his 8M dollar payday, nothing beats a soothing salve than that, a fat pay check.

Well onother tough match up in the horizon Tyson Gay Vs Usain Bolt 100M dash Cant wait, I hope TGay will be healthy I observed this Bolt guy win the olympic gold one year ago. We actually had a thread on the olympics right here on Jukwaa. I do not doubt that Bolt is a talented sprinter and a world class athlete. However, just like my sentiments then, I am taking his exploits with a pinch of salt. Those of us with memories of Ben Johnson, Flo-JO and the likes know that winning an olympic medal is one thing but passing a random drug test is quite a another. And yes PM, this is one race I will not miss.

phil, below is the distance between Usein Bolt and the competition. It is frightening to the competition if you ask me. He is too good for them and he is too funny to be compared to Ben Johnson a man who comes from my own city of Toronto. Here is the bolt man. Everybody else seems to be competing for second spot. Could be the same coming up. We will see.

Just watched the quarters and Usain Bolt jogged across the finish line second, laughing and enjoying himself, he finished with a time of 10 point something seconds, after almost walking across the finish line.
TGay was as tight as a drum, with a slow start and a blistering finish, at a time of 9 point something. He is in trouble I say!
Usain ata vunja recordi tena!

Forget TGaY Vs UBolt
DID ANY OF YOU SEE THE WOMENS 10,000M?
DID YOU SEE THE LADY KENYAN Ms MAASAI RUN DOWN THE ETHOPIAN GIRLS AND NIP THEM AT THE TAPE TO WIN?
SEE, WHAT I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE ABOUT ETHOPIAN RUNNERS esp THE MALE ONES.
THEY HANG ON YOUR SHOULDER, BREATHING THEIR HOT BREATHE DOWN THE RACE, PSYCHOLOGICALLY PLAYING GAMES WITH YOU, LETTING YOU DO THE GRUNT WORK AS THEY BENEFIT FROM THE WIND SHIELD THE KENYAN RUNNER BODIES GIVES THEM AND THEN THEY BRING DOWN THE HAMMER THE LAST 300M AND SPRINT LIKE A RABBIT.
IT FAILED THIS TIME AROUND!
CONGRATS TO THIS 19YR OLD KENYAN LADY

I tried to name it in such a way that the main subject matter was UNAMBIGIOUS:
I said Jukwaa; I added Siasa-Kenya; I translated that into Kenya POLITICS... I even added a description giving a hint that OUR MAIN FOCUS was POLITICS.
Are you getting me?

PM I think there's a sports forum in Jukwaa, let's move this thread there, you can cut and paste it there then delete this. This will be so refreshing especially when we take a break from politics briefly.

PM, Did you watch that 'flight'? hehehe, this Bolt guy can run. Usain Bolt smashes 100-meter record, clocking a 9.58Jamaica's Usain Bolt crosses the finish line ahead of USA's Tyson Gay and Jamaica's Asafa Powell. (David Azia, Associated Press / August 16, 2009) BERLIN – Usain Bolt has done it again. On a perfect night in Berlin, with a tailwind of 1 mile per hour, the Jamaican put his 100-meter world record into the range of the superhuman, winning his first world title with a time of 9.58 seconds. That broke the record of 9.69 Bolt set at the 2008 Olympics. The defending world champion, Tyson Gay of the United States, also ran the race of his life, finishing second in 9.71 seconds, third fastest time ever and 6/100ths better than his previous personal best. Former world record holder Asafa Powell was third in 9.84. Playing to the crowd repeatedly before the start, with his trademark lightning bolt pose as well as a hand motion that signaled he was about to take flight, Bolt grabbed the lead about 30 meters into the race and ran hard all the way through the finish as Gay was on his heels for more than half the race. Last year in the Olympics, he had begun hamming it up well before the finish. "I knew I could do it," Bolt said over the public address system. "You guys are the best crowd ever. You gave me energy." As he crossed the finish line and saw the time, Bolt slapped his right hand over the "Jamaica" on his singlet. Copyright © 2009, Chicago Tribune

This will be so refreshing especially when we take a break from politics briefly. This thread was started APRIL SEVENTEEN 2009. At that time anything and everything was posted under siasa or general or whatever the name of that area was. The admin can move the thread there I have no problem with that, I couldn't care less. All I want is a space for my P.O.V, and others to respond. It no big deal really. On my own I cant move the WHOLE thread. Only the admin can, and he should. Snarky comments wont move the thread where its supposed to go.

Onyango OlooOur MAIN focus may be politics, but that does not preclude us from discussing other things on the side. If so then you will have to reword your intro and say our ONLY focus is politics. Besides, politics cannot be divorced from sports, no matter how hard we try. I see no harm in having this thread here. Serves to liven the forum up a bit.

Yeah, that was an amazing race by Bolt. But we all knew he was going to win, just didn't know he would break the world record into the bargain.
I agree though that the 10000 women's race was better. Pure tactical running by the two Kenyans Linnet Masai and Grace Momanyi. Their blistering pace wore the Ethiopians out and they hadn't much left in the tank for their proverbial finishing kick. I just loved the look on that Melkamu's face as she saw Masai breeze past her 1m from the finish line after she had already raised her arms in the air thinking she had won! That's a video I'd like to see many times.
I'm waiting for the 10,000m men's final tonight. I'm betting on our Rift Valley lads to run down those selfish Ethiopians again. It is true, they Ethiopians never do their part in setting the pace for the race, they let the Kenyans do all the hard work then wait to kick at the last lap, that's unsporting tactics.
Also the 800m women's semi will be interesting to watch. Jepkosgei and Jelimo are gonna show the field dust, no doubt about that. Good to see Kiplagat, Okeyo and the rest of the idlers at Athletics Kenya are finally earning their keeping making that successful appeal for Jepkosgei after she was unfairly tripped by her opponent in the heats.

This guy is a THUNDER BOLT. He has wiped the "boasting" out of the Americans face. I remmember days when akina Maurice Green would bounce and swagger on the track as if they owned the place. Im glad that people can actually hit 9.58 without drugs.
