Loved it when Mosley called out "Money/PBF" Mayweather. Everyone knew that the Manuel/PBF matchup was uneven. If PBF wants a real fight he should pick on someone his own size. Mayweather has been avoiding Sugar Shane for the last eight years. It is about time! Personally, I think don't think a PBF/PacMan fight would be that great. PacMan for all his greatness has not fought anyone of PBF's caliber and/or defensive skills. I think PBF would probably win by decision (first PacMan has to get by Cotto though - at least he doesn't run from the best like PBF).

But Shane needs to be careful, he is up there in age and is slightly smaller - not significantly, than MoneyMan, but that would be a great great fight. Shane has great talent. Still PacMan is the man of the moment and the story line would be great. Floyd's dad (Co-Trainer), has a terminal lung condition, while PacMan trainer has Parkinsons. PacMan is jsut so tough and can take a punch but I don't know if he can solve the MoneyMan's defense. MoneyMan's trainer his uncle, has a very unorthodox way of approaching a fight and it would be great to see him use his wits against PacMan's trainer, one of the best currently. Manuel was an interesting fighter, did you see him drink his urine eti b/cos it has "proteins and vitamins"? Ha ha ha, ....the things a man does for success! ;D ;D ;D

PM, just finished watching the replay of the Mayweather vs Marquez fight (wasn't one of the 1MM who bought the PPV though if Mayweather vs PacMan is on then I'm willing to cough up my hard earned $s). At this point (even after the layoff) Mayweather is simply the best P4P fighter out there. I predict he will make an easy job of the PacMan (or even Cotto and Sugar Shane). Anyway, now I have to watch V. Klitschko fight another nobody. I know it is unfair to ask him to fight his brother Wladimir but that explains why most people have tuned out of the heavyweight fights. I remember the days when Kamau fought ODH and lost, Ike Quartey was robbed off a victory against ODH and the Sweapea (Pernell Whitaker) himself getting robbed by the ODH people. The sweet science has been good in the welter to middle weights for the past decade and I only hope that we have another group of young fighters coming up (Paul Williams, how about African fighters, British/European fighters are usually overrated don't you think).

Having watched this youtube video perhaps its a good thing that Rio won.
I dont think I will join 4 of my Kenyan buddies to SAfrica for the world cup, but Rio is far off enough to plan for!

The link took forever to open, but tell me are they gonna fight? ;D ;D I did see a snipet of Tyson with his very cute wife on oprah last week but Evander wasnt there. Who has been following the World Cup qualifiers? How about the World cup under 20y in Egypt? I saw the Ghanians thump a European team (forget which), and those guys are very good. They will give Brazil a hard time in the finali kesho.

Damm Damm damm, Manny pacquiao calls Floyd Mayweather A COWARD!Floyd is avoiding Manny? This would be ONE OF THE GREATEST fights EVER! I like PacMan but he better concentrate on Cottto for now. Cotto is still a very dangerous fighter. PBF is known to avoid fights that he thinks might give him trouble. We'll see......

kenyamoja Just post whatever tickles your fancy you never know what response you will get
I saw the Manny Pacquiao Vs Cotto previews for the fight on Nov 14. I cant wait! Cotto is very tough, he endured a nasty beating by a Antonio Margarito. This fellow had packed his gloves with plaster of paris which hardened into a rock solid as the fight went on. Cotto's face was real pulp at the end, bleeding like hell. Lakini Margarito was pummeled to death by Shane Mosely.

I know this thread is more Boxing and Athletics, but do we have fans of American sports (NFL, Baseball, NBA) or Euro Soccer here? Can't wait to get it on with Man-U fans........ Man U survived on 3-3 draw with some team in Russia. They are through to the next round of UEFA cup 2009/10 as we speak. Barcelona was held to a draw. My son almost tried to miss school to watch the Barcelona game today. He pretty much tried to claim he had the big flu. His mom would have none of it. The boy is a soccer fanatic. His favourite team is Chelsea. Because of Drogba of course. But he also loves Frank Lampard, Michael Balack and John Terry. The boy plays the same position in his Toronto Eagles Team as John Terry. He thinks he is one of the smartest defenders. The boy's all time super defender is Roberto Carlos. He says he has not seen anybody better than Roberto Carlos at his position. He should know. The boy studies soccer and I always tell him if he payed as much attention to his school work as he pays to soccer, the Havard folks would come looking for him and not the other way round. But that is another story. Never mind that the boy's country man won the New York Marathon. The first American to do so since 1982. The trouble is the media folks couldn't pronounce his name. The boy got a kick out of that. He loves everything Eritrean. He was proud of the guy. www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/03/referring-to-marathon-win_n_343772.htmlAt any rate Chelsea is also into the UEFA second round. I don't know what happened to Arsenal. Adebayo is still my main guy. (Note: My son told me Adebayo has been transferred to Manchester City) But right now I was thinking about this guy. The bolt man. He is pretty cool. Isn't he? www.nation.co.ke/sports/athletics/-/1100/681132/-/sevwk6z/-/index.html

I've been watching the Pac/Cotto 24/7 and I have a feeling that the PacMan will not win this one. Cotto looks focused and ready to go. PacMan on the other hand seems to have bought into this celebrity thing. One of Cotto's unknown is how the new (and inexperienced) trainer will prepare him.... boxing.fanhouse.com/2009/11/05/cotto-says-pacquiao-picked-wrong-guy/

This will be a hard fought battle, and if Manny looses its because I also dont see him focusing like a lazor beam on the fight.
He now has a retinue of hanger ons including an old white man eti ni advisor?
Manny dropped the ex heavyweight champ the black guy, who was a ring advisor after Roach said he had to go.
Also his training seems haphard, mara interupted by a hurricane/typhoon, mara he is off signing on teevee, mara his running dog which helps him run as he trains, was not on the plane to Los Angeles.
Cotto is very focused, but I still think he will l still loose, despite his showing against Margarito that prooved he can take a beating. Manny has a lot of staying power, is fresher, and have you seen those calves of his that look like tree trunks? But I dont know if he can take a beating like Cotto can. Those latin amigos are fearless, relentless and dont give up.
I still think Manny will win. I hope he does so that he can meet esp Mayweather or, if not then Mosely

Read my post above and I talked about Manny's powerful calves. Well his trainer the famed Freddy Roach also says... ...The trainer says the boxer’s power comes from his calves, which grow bigger with each fight.....he he he story HERE

I must admit that I'm not an MMA fan (I'm a biased boxing fan), but last night I watched some MMA fights on network TV and was impressed with what I saw. The Fedor vs Rogers fight was good TV. That Fedor guy is a monster but I think very beatable. Reminds me of the time PBF said he might fight in MMA. I would not discount his chances. In MMA a think a good boxer will always have an upper hand. On another note more cracks in PacMan's camp.......

From what I have seen, kenyamoja could be right and an upset is in the making. Manny, I think, has grown a big head and pride will be his falling. Cotto is just so focused like a laser beam, while manny is well, being manny, distracted by 100 little things.

Lack of focus notwithstanding, I am beginning to doubt Pacman's claim (or his fan's claim) as the best P4P boxer today. My vote would go to the likes of Mayweather, Paul Williams or even Sugar Shane. I'm also having to reconsider some of the fights that have made PacMan great...a washed-up DLH, an always suspect Euro-fighter in Hatton...That said he is good fighter who will be put to a test by Cotto (hopefully he's fully recovered from that Margarito beating)..... www.ringtv.com/blog/1297/pacquiao_and_cotto_have_an_equal_chance_to_win_saturdays_showdown/

kenyamoja The two fights Manny lost were to who? do you know?
Manny beat a relatively old Oscar DLH, but what a pounding that was. I have never liked the pretty boy Oscar, who I think is a creation of the media, with borderline superior fighting skills but no heart. The wameki halisi never really warmed to him like they did when they embraced the fearless, never say die Julio C Chaves, Erik Morales or even Marco Barerra.
I think the title for best P4P boxer can onle be settled if manny moves up where he is now and fights Maywether. Shane may be a little old.
Manny has won titles across 7 divisions so he is a legit fighter and has over 40 bouts to his name.
My heart is torn between the two I love them both. But I am predicting Cotto will win a bruising battle on points.
