Great stuff from Jason Dunford, at least we finally have the words Kenya, Commonwealth, Swimming & Gold appearing in the same sentence for the first time in our history!

Politicalmaniac, India is a cricket mad nation, I think it is largely to do with the India vs Australia test match that was concluded on Tuesday that India went on to win by the skin of their teeth. They must be nursing hangovers

WanaJukwaaPlease take few secs to vote online for Kenya's David Rudisha and Milcah Chemos as nominees of the IAAF Athlete of the Year 2010 award. The IAAF is giving the public the unique chance to help select the 2010 World Athlete of the Year. With the vote now open, it takes just a few clicks to pick your THREE finalists for the Athlete of the Year (Man and Woman) from the candidates list selected by a panel of IAAF Experts. A total of 20 candidate athletes (10 male and 10 female), including Rudisha and Chemos of Kenya, have been selected and the International Amateur Athletics Association (IAAF) is giving the public the opportunity to vote for the top three in each categories. CLICK HERE TO VOTEYou have to pick THREE Men and THREE Women, in which case you can choose the former Kenyan Langat (currently running for USA) and perhaps the Ethiopian lady or any other that you may want since some of you are dual citizens ( ). PM, Pacquio vs Margarito. Who do you like? After watching Margarito's training and sparring in HBO 24/7 I think he has a chance especially since it seems like Pac is a little distracted by his political duties. But then again we've seen this before (remember before the Cotto fight there were rumors of infighting in Pac's camp?). I still think Pac man will win though I think Margarito will give him a heck of a fight (he's bigger and tough as a nail). Not sure whether I'll be rooting for Margarito especially after seeing video of him mocking Freddie Roach.

Not sure whether I'll be rooting for Margarito especially after seeing video of him mocking Freddie Roach. I cant say this is the match I wanted to watch, but I think it will have its share of drama. Like you, I think manny will win mainly because speed kills and he has power behind those punches. Margarito is a lumbering giant who is at his best when he brawls, and manages to hit his opponent even as he takes a beating. I just dont see him landing the quota of punches that he would need to fell Manny. After watching him get thoroughly beaten up by a faster Mosely, I think he will perhaps go to the distance but loose unanimously on points, or Manny will knock him out in the late rounds. Its sad that a 100m dollar purse fight between Manny and Floyd will never happen, for that is the match I really wanted to watch.

Jukwaa, Rudisha it IS!!!! Hip hip, hurray!!!!! MONACO, November 21, 2010 (AFP) - Kenyan running sensation David Rudisha and Croatian high jump star Blanka Vlasic were named male and female athletes of the year respectively here on Sunday by the sport's governing body, the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). Rudisha, 21, broke the longstanding 800 metres world record twice this season while 27-year-old Vlasic won both the European outdoors and world indoors titles. Rudisha is the youngest athlete ever to win the prestigious award having first broken the record in Berlin on August 22 with a time of 1 minute 41.09 seconds before bettering that mark with 1:41.01 in Rieti, Italy, a week later. More......... and more........MONTE CARLO, MONACO - NOVEMBER 21: Iaaf President Mr.Lamine Diack (c) poses with Blanka Vlasic (l) of Croatia and David Rudisha (r) of Kenya as they receive the athletes of the year award during the IAAF World Gala at The Sporting Club on November 17, 2010 in Monte Carlo,Monaco.Kenyan 800 metres runner David Rudisha of Kenya (L) and world indoor high jump champion Blanka Vlasic of Croatia pose with their IAAF Athlete of the Year awards in Monte Carlo November 21, 2010. Rudisha, 21, twice eclipsed the 800 metres record, eventually running one minute 41.01 seconds, in a sparkling season of 12 consecutive victories. Vlasic, 27, won 18 of 20 competitions in what she called one of her most challenging seasons. This Vlasic chick is tall, to imagine Rudisha is a six footer and but she dwarfs him!!!

I wish Rudisha all the best, he has what it takes to be a mega star, great athletic ability and a dazzling smile. I hope he speaks flawless kimombo sans accent, that would make him very marketable in the west, and earn him tons of $$$

Let me take this opportunity to congratulate TP Mazembe for becoming the first African country to qualify for the finals of the world club championships. They did it in some style too, beating the South American champs, Internacional of Porto Alegre by 2 goals to nil.

I watched the first match against, i dont know who, but TP beat em one nil despite playing the last 15-25 minutes one man down, after a red card. And the hair! Those guys have very interesting hair styles. Who are they playing in the finals?

TP Mazembe played very well, hence kept there emotions in-check this time around. They have created havoc in africa championship games before. At one time in a middle of a game the entire team were sent packing from kigali.
They are due to met Club de Futbol Pachuca from mexico for the finals.

TZ Mazembe are down 0-2 (to Inter Milan) at half-time with one goal by Eto'o.
If you can't catch in via live stream (be careful with some malware infested sites if you don't have good protection) or Live TV ( Fox Deportes, Fifa.com TV or whichever),there will be some delayed & repeat airing by various channels.

Final Score Inter Milan 3 - TP Mazembe 0
The Africans played gallantly but lost to a better side.
Here is the good news - Kenyan Macdonald Mariga entered in the 86th minute to contribute to Inter Milan's victory. Mariga makes history being the first Kenyan to lift the World Club Championship Cup.
Way to go Mariga! Cheers!

As for Mariga, this coach does not seem to believe in him, I think this is the first time I have seen him play in like 10 matches.

Way to go Mariga! Cheers!Job, I watched that game. It was a David vs Goliath reincarnation. The Asian ref was openly biased and spoilt what would have otherwise been a balanced game, perhaps ending in extra time or panalties. I am hoping Sofa Paka, Gor Mahia or even AFC Leopards will play one of the top teams in the World Club Championship Cup. Tuwache mambo ya kiko cup (Kibera) and Koth Biro (Eastlands). We need to climb the stairs. Another thing, TP mazembe have a unique pre-match prayer on the goal line. Have to admit, I have never seen that before!!!!! ;D ;D FIFA is minting billions from corporates like Emirates and Toyota. Hapa Kenya, when will akina Hatimi and Kasuve wake up?

I cant really say I understand the so called American football (where is that video of the English man comedian lampooning it?) and I really cant get into the frenzy that the "Super Bowl" creates. Never the less, I feel very gratified when I see players with African names doing well, esp the Nigerians. They rule this sport. Here is a story of a Ghanian, player who happens to be the grandson of the late Military President Gen Achempong. I do remember that name fleetingly.

But I would rather you keep to your beloved boxing and all those other uncivilised and uncouth sporting events. Leave soccer to those who understand it. Man U are not multiple champions of Europe and England by chance. Right now they are on the threshold of being declared the first teams to who have won the EPL x19, again not by chance. Hard work, smart identification and development of players, team cohesion, mix of experience and talent plus a sound management team have done the wonders. Man U are also undoubtedly the most popular club side in the world. Again not by chance. Chelsea on the other hand (and I hope Adongo is reading this!) has nothing to write home about apart from perhaps that their Oligarch Russian owner is one of the richest men in the world and that you can never purchase success. What's more, Chelsea players are on average beyond their prime, unprofessional and highly unlikely to perform on the pitch because of the well known personal problems each of them carries on to the grounds each day. Excess baggage! The likes of Terry, Essien, Lampard, Drogba, Czech are actually the core of Chelsea and sadly they are all HAVE BEENS. Let's wait and see how it works out tomorrow. If Chelsea take it, the Ref will most likely be their 12th player. But on a fair afternoon tomorrow at Old Trafford, the trophy is as good as won.
