The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) will sponsor a motion to compel President Kibaki to appear before a Parliamentary Select Committee over the Sh7 billion Anglo-Leasing scandal.

"The President cannot set up a commission because he has been named in the scandal," added Raila.
Mwiraria’s resignation continued to draw mixed reactions across the country.

They said corruption was derailing Government programmes and called for strengthening of anti-corruption institutions, including the committee.
"Those who are found to be corrupt must face the full force of the law," said Musyimi.
Failure to prosecute, he said, gives the impression that there were separate laws for the powerful and others for ordinary people. The committee said such failure undermined the rule of law. They, however, asked that those accused of involvement in the Anglo Leasing scandal be given a fair hearing......................
