Kiai's 'ceremony' of awarding Githongo with the award smacks of hypocricy! What is striking about is that all that shower of prasies comes so soon when Kenyans are nowhere near towards getting to the bottom of their problems re Anglo Leasing scandal. The fact that a couple of ministers have resigned is nothing to celebrate about when we still have the very same preident who was the leader of the scandal ridden government firmly in office so that he may continue to bleed us dry!
In my opinion, Kiai's instigation to the public that they should congratulate and "clap" for themselves, is only meant to create a false feeling of triumph as if the public has now reached the climax of its task, and so they can begin to relax about it, certainly with only one obvious aim behind it! Yes, you guessed it, protect Kibaki from any further build up of public pressure and so help to keep him in!
That aside, for a person who is being paid a million shillings per month of the taxpayers' money, what else has he done since his appointment apart from protecting Kibaki out of his ommissions over the time of his tenure?
Na hao wengine, well, there is hardly anything new about all those analyses and theories behind the 'monarchs' of Kenya. I think it would be more useful to read about ideas and ways which could offer solutions towards freeing the Kenyan society (as you used to do OO) out of its miseries, instead of all those analyses about the nyumbas!
Please try very hard and keep out of the woods if you can whilst there. Just a friendly observation OO.

Unaona the manenos in the news Oloo. I was browsing through Jukwaa and came across this thread and hey, isn't it amusing that the man you purpoted to be part of an "Imperialist Coup" to oust Kibaki is now the only one whose story is the most credible? Githongo was in DC last week and I heard he was awfully radical in his expositions and facts. He also appears as the only Kenyan that is optimistic. You'll hear him talking "of democracy in Kenya despite graft". He's not in Kenya and yet he is surpassingly optimistic. What are the other presidential dreamers doing? Where are they? What are their plans? Are the still in Kenya? nationmedia.com/dailynation/nmgcontententry.asp?category_id=1&newsid=70080 nationmedia.com/dailynation/nmgcontententry.asp?category_id=1&newsid=70095Maina. -unedited-

Oloo, I was browsing through BBC online after watching their Mideast News Analysis programme and came across this link (below). I just thought that it would be relevant here to some "extent" because the West (who you refer to as the "imperialists") will do anything to get rid of the Hamas establishment in Palestine. But are there actions legitimate given that Hamas possesses a terrorist bureau? Is it wise for Russia to fund Hamas and make consolidated funding & trade agreements with Iran's Supreme Council? What about the imminent "onslaught of Islam" (as depicted on Newsweek, Washington Post & the Philadelphia Inquirer) that is supposedly going to have a major impact on world politics (including and not limited to security, trade, et cetera)? Should we in Kenya be worried in your view, and if so, what do you presume we Kenyans should prepare for? news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/4911150.stm Maina -unedited-
