Kwendo Opanga brings fresh perspective to this saga. Its all about lost revenue, apparently the unions can only collect dues from permanent teachers, do the math. It now appears that both teacher's unions painted themselves into a corner on this one, calling for a strike so close to exams is basic brinkmanship a different point of view

Kwendo Opanga brings fresh perspective to this saga. Its all about lost revenue, apparently the unions can only collect dues from permanent teachers, do the math. It now appears that both teacher's unions painted themselves into a corner on this one, calling for a strike so close to exams is basic brinkmanship Fahari, Brinkmanship??? You should see French air-traffic controllers and train drivers going to strike in the summer when the transport chaos and financial costs would be maximum! Lesson is a deal comes fastest when stakes are highest! On Opanga, the story is not all revenue! What has changed, apart from the various still born initiatives to reform and clean up the ministry, still headed by corrupt professor Ongeri, is simply the radicalisation on the ground. KUppet and KNut officials have to earn their keep, or make room for a more hardline leadership. When these bareaucrats of the unions go to treasury house and meet all these big guns, they may become overawed and be induced by the imperial surroundings to sign agreements they can not sell ot a restive grassroots. Faced by the possibility of alternative leadership, as in direct challenge or splintering of the unions, these men refind their calling. Then there is the elephant in the room. Money is there! Uhuru and the cabinet just prefer to throw it elsewhere, like their tax-arrears! Kwendo Opanga, a self-confessed trained and practicing teacher, has not been noticing what is happening under his nose amongst his staff-mates. Or perhaps he teaches at a private school. new development
