Reading some of the posts regarding the violence in Kisumu leaves me aghast at some of those cheering the hooligans who stoned Tuju's rally.
Tuju is someone I have known for very many years having gone to the same school with him and he being a year ahead of me we were still members of several clubs together. I know Tuju. He is a self made person. He is ambitious, and least of all, one who is not hung up with tribes.
Tuju's ambitions to be president of Kenya like many others may end out coming to naught. But as one who believes that charity begins at home he should have been welcomed in Kisumu like their own son. But then just like the hoodlums in Kisumu, there are those not so different who want to actually peddle a lie that he was stoned for being a "murderer" of a boy shot by police when he made an earlier attempt to launch his PPP party.
I can imagine how the hypocrites would react wre Paul Muite to be stoned by the people of Gatundu for simply declaring his intention to be president in competition with Muthamaki.....which is why you can never beat jukwaa when it comes to hypocrisy!

Kamale,Seriously, where would Tuju be without the Kondele stone throwers? Try oblivion. Did we even hear about Tuju's campaigns before the Kondele melodrama? No. Why? Because nobody gives a rat's ass about Tuju. So now Tuju wants to make weekly rallies in Kondele praying that some fools try stoning him and his campaign gets some much needed momentum. Well Herman Cain's campaign is getting some momentum but it is not helping him much. This is a comic relief. It is not like Tuju lost his left toe while running from the thugs. May be he couldn't breath well hiding behind the back seat of his car for a few minutes. I am sure the boys are going to ignore him seeing as they are his only claim to fame. Then what. May be Tuju will go to Kismayu and dare the Al shabaab boys to stone him as an infidel so he can back home the hero. Oh dear! Tuju is just being Tuju. He desperately needs to find an angle to start fighting Raila otherwise the competition for that much prized contest is way ahead of him. Everybody who wants to be anybody is singing Raila 24/7 and Tuju cannot get a pass into the derby. That is not fair. How can a man compete. He needs his daily Raila dose or die politically from lack of political oxygen. Tuju is therefore banking on the Kondele boys to bail him out so he can get into the act. hehehehehe. I already told them fighting Raila can be an exhausting and thankless job but they listen to me these days. Shauri zao. Let them count the amount of political graves signs "I died fighting Raila, god please let me IN." Who knows where the miserable souls will end. May be obel Sibuth is waiting for them and then they can announce all the great years they spent fighting Raila and how dare the big Satan didn't know that. Talk about being screwed!

I think I am watching the public disintergration of a once mighty intellectual reach its peak. It could be the mental price of psychophancy, that is a deliberate choice to enjoy the financial and social renumerations which otherwise [see them professors on strike now for higher pay!] would have been mere dreams in an academic career.
One step forward, Peter Anyang' Nyong'o did the right thing by condemning the violence at Kondele. 3 steps back, he now seemed to belong to the school thought which claimed Tuju was guilty of provocation! For untitled men [in the academic sense] one can perhaps just shrug [--idiots will be idiots unless Jesus hurries back to come save], but for the de facto Nestor of academia in political office to speak with such a forked tongue in such a cardinal issue, is to make a mockery of the demand that one need be a graduate to be a member of parliament!
Of course one understands the Luo nationalist unease at the candidacy of Tuju, which has forced most of our mainstream commentators to show their hostile hand. If Kenya were still a one party state, most of these men, methinks, would be singing from the hym book of the late Kariuki Chotara!
