Then Mumias MP, Hon Ben Washiali is caught saying this...people have smelt the coffee.... UDF to back ODM in run-off SUPPORT: Mumias MP Ben Washiali addressing a rally at Shianda market where he released CDF cheques on Wednesday. Photo/Shaban Makokha An MP who ditched ODM to join UDF has said that UDF members will back ODM should its party leader fail to go for round two of the presidential contest. Speaking at Shianda market on Wednesday Mumias MP Ben Washiali said the country’s politics has gone tribal with people grouping themselves in cocoons making it difficult for presidential aspirants to garner the required majority votes from across the country. Washiali defected from the Orange party two weeks ago and joined UDF led by Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi. He said UDF party members from Western will support for “should Mudavadi fail to reach the run-off stage of the presidential race”. “I am however content that we shall agree to rally our support behind the Prime Minister Raila Odinga and his ODM party,” Washiali said. He said part of the plans include setting terms and conditions on how they will benefit from their support. “We shall put in writing the benefits we shall get out of the agreement which should include improved infrastructure and job opportunities for our people,” the MP said. He asked UDF party members to be on standby “because we shall come back and tell you our second option. But as Western, we shall cross to our neighbours from the lake.” www.the-star.co.ke/local/western--nyanza/77310-udf-to-back-odm-in-round-two-of-polls-washiali

The guy knows what is happening on the ground. They can see Mudavadi is going nowhere. They can see the risk of jumping from ODM with the bogus promises given to Mudavadi by those whose only interest in him was to help them fight Raila. Don't be surprised if the same M.Ps start saying they will support the ODM presidential candidate even when thy seek nomination in UDF etc. Even Khalwale was forced to do that in the by-election where he declared his support for the PM but asked the voters to elect him in his Ford Kenya ticket. But this is dangerous talk. The owners of UDF who loaned it to Mudavadi for this failing experiment will not entertain any such lose talk of UDF backing ODM in the run-off. Expect this guy to be summoned and put on carpet at Mululu if not outrightly caned for bringing up this kind of mischief. But the man cannot run away from the reality on the gorund. That is what he has do deal with as a politician.

One sometimes sees horse-race results presented as "Came first. [details given] Came second. [details given] Came third. [details given]. Also ran. ..." That's how history will sum up Mudavadi's little adventure: also ran.

This is powerful stuff fellas. These folks are upto something. It is real and it is happening right before our eyes. It was also good to see the chairman, Henry Kosgey. He has a calm around him that is quite admirable. He may have his problems like we all do but his calmness is a huge asset to ODM.
Here we go:

Jamani hebu niongeze picha zengine maana hii trip ya ODM relaoded made some serious forays into Western province and effectively put to rest the doubts about Mudavadi's so called 'groundshaking move to UDF' and taking away Raila's vote crap. The pictures speak more than a thousand words... ODM still remains the Party to beat in Western Province.Muliro Gardens....Phil, this answers your question....

Very interesting rally, especially the crowds, which I honestly did not expect to be this large. Just one thing strikes me as strange: Why is Ababu Namwamba dressed in full military combat gear? Must admit he looks cool though.

Did you say they are the new pentagon? Where did ODM fish such unknowns from? I didn't know it got that desperate, tell them to go back to the pond and fish something that Kenyans can easily identify with.

Mzee1,
What you are emphasizing on is called Diversity, and I have article for you to read from my favourite Economist Dr Thomas Sowell, named a cultural Diversity www.tsowell.com/spcultur.html
As I stated earlier you will never in your whole lifetime see an American with another country military gear, same as you will never see an Asian in America, not matter if they were born in the US, driving an American car.
Patriotism buddy, For example today is Memorial day in the US, you know what Americans are doing, respecting and remembering their soldiers. It doesnt matter if self individuals support the war or not. They are Americans first.
Eti the world is a Village, when Ababu anavaa US military gear. Jukwaa Folks How can Ababu Namwanga look cool, when he is adorning himself with USA military clothings, C'mmon now show some patriotism. Genius, Not sure what kind of Genius you are but nevertheless the U.S. Army uses the Universal Camouflage Pattern (UCP), which blends tan, gray and green (Desert Sand 500, Urban Gray 501 and Foliage Green 502) to work equally in desert, woodland, and urban environments.[3] Similar to the United States Marine Corps MARPAT and Canadian CADPAT camouflage schemes that preceded it, the pattern design is based on research into Dual Texture (Dual-Tex) Camouflage conducted in the 1970s. Yes it patented..... Genius ;D ;D

And please indicate the evidence that the US army has patented the attire of the kind Ababu was wearing. Jeez, I have seen even Iraqi soldiers wearing similar colours. Good luck in finding a job. But based on the exhibition here so far of your thinking ability, I'm afraid you'll be without gainful employment for a very long time.

titchaz, I found this in star and it reminded of the way Raila connects with regular folks so easily. It is a gift he should take very seriously. Most of our politicians are stiff necks who just yell at people from a podium. People never connect with them. Raila even in his rallies has some kind of a dilogue with people. He asks them questions and they often answer him. It is like a conversation. Here we go
