Adongo: Another major problem with Uhuru's supporters is that they can't even imagine a future that goes beyond 2013. Let us suppose that Uhuru does, by some miracle, manage to become president. How long will he be there? And after that what? It's not as though the ICC and its charges will disappear during that presidency.
I told them already to start looking for a soft landing. Uhuru is failing in his duty to his die hard fans to start letting them know muthamaki cannot make it. The ICC sledge hammer is no joke. For too long Uhuru and his supporters have been behaving as if the ICC matter is just a romour. A bad dream and a horror movie that he and Ruto watches from time to time.
When the summons were issued they dismissed them as nonsense. When the Confirmation Hearing was going on they told us how Ocampo will be humiliated. They were dead sure the charged cannot be confirmed.
Even the day the ruling was coming down they were singing when they heard Ocampo had called a press conference. Oh that means Ocampo has lost they screamed. They hang on to every straw and Uhuru recklessly fed them the nonsense that the ICC means nothing and he is on his way to State House. We told them nobody can run State House from The Hague even if you are only on trial. Did they listen? No. They chose to live in denial. That can't last forever.
Now it is a simple case of Uhuru being honest and preparing his flock for the inevitable truth that the road to State House has been sunk in a volcano or he can leave them alone to crash land to the world of reality at a time of their choosing. It is going to be an ugly landing. I can see some Uhuru supporters are already defecting as we speak. Reality can be hard and cruel but it is what it is. Nobody can change that. Not even a muthamaki.
