Dear esteemed respondent,
The Constitution of Kenya 2010 heralded a number of progressive reforms in Kenya’s’ electoral and political processes. Notable is the fact that for the first time, Kenyans living in the diaspora will be able to directly vote in the General Elections. Infotrak wishes to invite you to participate in the Diaspora Opinion Poll Survey which seeks to determine the views of Kenyans living in the USA concerning key governance issues in Kenya. The information you will provide us with shall be treated with strict confidentiality and used ONLY for the purpose of the Survey.

Assuming this is not a hoax, I think this is lapse of judgement by the embassy. Being the "returning officer" if at all diasporans vote, it is inappropiate for him to be associated to an opinion poll which prima facie tries to determine the voting pattern of Kenyans in the US.
Secondly, it is inappropiate to pass on email accounts of Kenyans who subscribe to the Embassy email channel to a third party data hogging company like info-trak. It is a breach of privacy on the part of the embassy and disregard for personal information.
Now the embassy can carry out whatever opinion polls they want, but what business do they have asking me who I will vote for and what my tribe is (this question is often hidden in the "which county are you from?)
Are plans being put in place to rig the diapora elections?
