the beautiful lady photoed above also seen on the extreme left in the still image on the you-tube musical below died while delivering a baby at mwimbili national hospital dar-es-salaam at the age of 26. known to me and all taarab fans as paka mapepe, her death was among a string of tragedies that befell tanzanian taarab musical landscape.also a victim ofchild birth is the thickset in the middle, khadija yusuph, sister of mzee yusuph of jahazi modern taarab who also almost died at delivery room although the baby never survived. haiya twende......... a kimwona panya anachachichika....... akimwona panya .........anahakirika......

its spring break in continental europe and the americas where the kenyan diaspora are big on jukwaa, the most compelling digital platform for ventilating on and shaping the opinion of our beloved country now under the sphere of the far right kenyan political formation.
here is one of my favourites as we begin the week that will define our statehood.
wish you could see me dancing this song..... lovely !

i just want to say thank you to all the active Jukwaaists for keeping this magnificient forum going and feeding our minds, whilst some of us are lurking behind.
My special thanks goes to OtishO, Jakaswanga, Oloo and Kamale, for their exemplary efforts. And of course all others, my brothers and sisters who post in here, day in day out, Jukwaa could not be what it is without your wonderful input which I enjoy reading everyday.
Let me dedicate our sweet Mariah and wish you a good weekend:

Today was as close to a perfect day in August as one can get. Temperature just right; humidity low; wind no more than a gentle breeze. I watered the tomatoes I have planted in the backyard; my beagle, Sparky, chased two squirrels and harassed the cat from next door. Tasks accomplished, we both sat down to relax---me with a beer, he with an artificial bone. For music, we settled on the great Cesaria Evora, surely one of Africa's greatest:
