Let's catch up with Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta on the campaign trail...
"Reforms are not owned by an individual. All of us are reformers, and we have a responsibility of implementing the constitution," he told a rally at Ogembo.
" The constitution is not an individual peroperty, all Kenyans participated in one way or another in passing it. Mr. Odinga should tell us what his policies are," he said.
My take...
Not everyone is a reformer and secondly not all Kenyans participated in passing the constitution. Even though it's a duty of every elected official to uphold the constitution, not every elected official has kept this solemn promise.
Hon. Uhuru should know that Kenyans still remember when he banged the table at a press conference over a constitutional issue. We saw his true colors and how angry he can get if he doesn't find his way even if his way is illegal!

Today's message...
A lot of numbers are being thrown around as to who will win the elections but must remember that kura ni siri, no one knows what each voter will do once they step inside the polling booth. Let every coalition or party focus on serious campaign lest they be surprised come March 4TH.

Wonders of African politics...
Hon. Balala's political ritual was a clear sign that this guy has sank so low in Mombasa politics. I hope they served the goat meat to his followers....

Where does Jirongo stand and did Paul Muite retire from active politics? Rumour had suggested Jirongo but it does not appear to have made very big headlines!

Hon. Muite is the only key politician who is still homeless.
Jirongo's move complicates Hon. Mudavadi's efforts in Western.

Hon. Muite is the only key politician who is still homeless. Jirongo's move complicates Hon. Mudavadi's efforts in Western. Rais, Jirongo has no ground to stand on; he is lost and directionless. He has tried so many times to topple Mudavadi without any success. If he failed when Muda was running for nothing but Sabatia parliamentary seat, how do you expect him to have any significant impact when MM is running for PORK? Jirongo is desperate to survive after being abandoned by everyone after they realized that he has nothing to offer. But he has finally found home for retiring and desperate politicians.

Congratulations to Ms. Winnie Kaburu on her nomination as RBK'S VP nominee. Kudos to Hon. Kayapi for picking a woman candidate as his running mate. I wish them well!
...
As expected, our friends from the other side aren't having good words for Hon. Jirongo but we know it's all politics because they would have praised him BIG if he had crossed over to Jubilee or even to Amani coalition. For those who know politics, we can all agree that Hon. Musalia's headache on how to control contain luhya votes has worsened. Key politicians from western province are CORDED, the electorates are CORDED...watu hawatakubali kupangwa!
As I said before, Hon. Musalia will spend more time in Western than other place and I hope some is counting! So far he's clocked a week ... I'll be counting!

I wonder how some of the folks here in Jukwaa will cast their votes...they'r for Hon. Mudavadi while at the same time singing Jubilee songs! Maybe they know something we don't know... Is Amani Coalition a subsidiary of Jubilee? We should expect a consolidation of these two coalitions incase there's a runoff! I defer to Mwalimu for clarity.

Today's final word...
Hon. Musalia, Hon. Martha & Hon. Peter can take as long as they want with their choice of running mates but one thing we know for sure is that there's nobody they can each bring in who will help CHANGE THE GAME!
Be peaceful my friends!

Qoute from Ms. Winnie Kaburu - RBK VP nominee
"We have gone around. Forget the papers, who reads them anyway? The ground is Kiyiapi."
I think I like her spirit but I'm a little curious how Hon. Kiyiapi arrived at his decision. May someone please provide us with Ms. Kaburu's records?

I have heard that name severally ... but still the battle of significance for the big office seems to be between the Hague chaps and the status quo. Stand up Kiyiapi, or Peter Kenneth, above obscurity. There is an opportunity here to be grabbed!

I have two proposals which I believe are very reasonable.
1.Parties that fail to win any electable offices in every general election should automatically stand deregistered for a period of 6 yrs. Tabia ya kuunda chama ovyo ovyo yafaa ikome and by the way, this can help cut IEBC's operating costs every election year.
2. We should do away with by-elections by giving Governors powers to appoint individuals to fill-in seats that fall vacant within the counties until the expiry of remaining term unless such vacant seats are a result of court action in which case a special election shall do. ...Another way to save tax shillings!

Wow, has anyone read what our MPs treated themselves before their exit?
Who came up with allowances as a composition of gross pay? Basis salary 25%, allowances 75%...why can't we just have a fixed salary ( indexed to inflation) and maybe annual salary? I hope the salary & Renumeration commission will get us out of this mess. In the mean time, Mwalimu Mati & Co. must rush to court to save the taxpayer.

Infotralk released it's polls and as usual it's been dismissed by Jubilee supportes while hailed by CORD supporters as a confirmation to what they believe is the mood of the majority of Kenyans. Regardless of where you stand , keep doing your best to popularize your candidate and convince as many voters as you can because the election is still more than 50 DAYS AWAY! STAY FOCUSSED AND KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE BALL.

I love this quote by Hon. Ruto
“You know what I did in making available fertiliser to farmers when I was the Agriculture minister and it should also be clear to you that the Economic Stimulus Package was a brainchild of Mr Kenyatta, the president in waiting,” he said
My take...
I'm pretty sure that Hon. Raila, Hon. Mudavadi, Hon. Martha, Hon. Peter & Hon. Kiyiapi can each find some good things they've done to the Republic but is that good enough ?
Can our leaders tell us some of the bad things they've done and any lessons learnt?
Hon. Ruto should also know that we know what he did with the NO CAMPAIGN OR THE RED TEAM, we know what he did with YK'92, We know that Eldoret Municipal took him to court for illegal acquisition of the council's house, we know he's holding onto some land that belongs to an IDP and all other corruption cases sorrounding him! I won't vote for some candidate just because he did what we paid him to do, I look at one's entire history before rendering my support and I hope you do too!

Will the Presidential debates still be held? Half the candidates have stepped down and the other half are only good at addressing public forums in a call and response type of oratory plus the occasional awkward dancing jig. I would like their opinion on topics such as security (top on my list of to-do items), decent wages for public workers, job creation, a revamped education system that results in productive citizens among other topics. But I guess this would be too much for our dense politicians to mull over and produce a coherent response

manofletters,
I don't think all the aspirants are comfortable with the idea, some may want to control the kind of questions asked in which case it won't make sense at all. We hope the commission will issue a statement soon.

The difference in reasoning between the highly learned and the least learned Kenyans is always reduced to the minimum during elections! I've refused to become a statistic! very true observation and that is why we came with the current Constitution (to try and level the playing field and stop moving goal posts) and Vision 2030 (to introduce issue based politics as opposed to siasa za tumbo na pale ulizaliwa)

Close to 90% of members of the 10th parliament don't have either the education, the experience or both that's required to secure private sector jobs that pay monthly salary of Ksh. 250,000 yet some MPs like Shabesh had no shame in defending what's their 'RIGHT'!
To those who felt they can't work for a monthly salary of Ksh. 850,000, please do us a favor by not seeking re-election! MPs serve their constituents by choice and if terms of service aren't good enough then a career in private sector is the best possible alternative.
...
Thursday is fast approaching and the not so civil amongst us are ready to be fools. I hope we can keep such acts to the minimum.

Even as we cruise towards March 4, the media, I am worried, is beginning to show signs that they are not going to do an impartial job in reporting political events so as to adequately inform and educate the Kenyan electorate for informed decisions.
