It increasingly
seems to me that the DDD have definitely decided that they will not show up at the Hague. (That's probably not too unexpected.) The issue, then, is how to put together an excuse of a story that most Kenyans will swallow. I think we are in for some good "entertainment" as the jirongos fly this way and that way.
Otishotish,I beseeched Oloo to suspend
you from Jukwaa as punishment for putting down my
buddy Kagwanja so insolently on a certain thread. Apparently any professor,or would-be knowledgeable who ventures into public debate and sells half-baked theses, is game and Jukwaa is the place for the game, or so intimates Oloo.
Well, have it your way then, I am minded to go for the throat of your fellow lawyer Ahmednassir Abdulahi, who I have found READ here
www.nation.co.ke/oped/Opinion/-African-Union-rightly-saw-what-ICC-cases-are-all-about/-/440808/1869448/-/item/1/-/7ltf6a/-/index.htmlI think he is full of fouling himself in public, and should be flushed down the toilet together with his Sh!t!
African Union rightly saw what ICC cases are all about One of my teachers used to tell us that columnists in daily papers can have their days off. And like an old man who will need viagra to fortify his resolve otherwise no business will be done, some days a columnist is so limp in the head, that his thrusts and grunts have something which elevates them to enjoyable comical farce.
In this column where
AhmedNassir professes loyalty to Uhuruto, he does a hack-job so shoddy I doubt he will get paid. Let me slap him some, the churlish charlatan.
Resolve and unity exhibited by African leaders during sojourns in Addis Ababa are the rule rather than the exception. ---Take a look at the resolve and unity in the resolutions the OAU passed on APARTHEID SOUTH AFRICA. Even as the same abhorrent regime was a big trade partner to countries like Kenya!
--Take a look too, at the resolutions that endorsed and upheld the territorial indivisibility of Ethiopia during the Eritrean war of independence. And O God yes, the Unity of the Great republic of Sudan too! They were pictures of unity and resolved edged in granite if you bought!
And if we are talking of resolve ONLY IN THE PARITICULAR CASE OF THE ICC, then disaster strikes when we notice not a single country has set into motion PROCEEDINGS for withdrawal from the treaty that instituted this court. Also, countries sign this treaty INDIVIDUALLY, and too, there are many sections to the treaty which some countries opt out of, while others endorse wholeheartedly.
Earlier on Bashir indictment, the AU had forcefully resolved not to cooperate, then South Africa, Malawi, Uganda and three others broke rank to threaten Omar with arrest on call! That kind of resolve then.
NB: [There is an interesting case of
Obasanjo the trader: how he refused to sign a particular clause
after the Nigerian senate and supreme courts okayed it. WHY: The USA, a non-signatory to the treaty of Rome, was offering a lot of cash to exceptions which would allow non-cooperation with warrants on AMERICANs [soldiers]! Generals Obasanjo, Buhari and Babangida and the military-oil complex they represent looked at the free money, and decided it was a free meal. Not sure if
Goodluck too is a trader in that mode or not! But it may be important to study the internal dynamics of each country's juridicial template before anyone assumes if the president of that country says he will not cooperate, then his word is LAW IN HIS COUNTRY. It is a dangerous world these days: Uhuru could say he is not cooperating according to AU charter, and there is Mutunga
retorting: that is your personal situation, Kenya as A STATE IS STILL DUTY BOUND TO COOPERATE, so you have to consider resignation first.
Do you think Zuma would outrule the South African Supreme court if it rubbished the AU resolve?
BAFFLING???
I think it is more correct to say, it is the IMPOTENCE of the AU that
bafflingly AMUSES
European observers. It came most to the fore over Libya, and the resolution smuggled in by NATO to seize the oil fields in that country, under a no-fly zone.
How could the AU let their cheque-book be so unceremoniously removed from their hands? The colonel was even funding AFRO-SATS launched by China, which made NAIJA-MOVIES conquer Africa on the cheap on DSTV!The colonel was irrigating the whole of valley belt in Mali, building public houses in Uganda, Togo, Benin, constructing dams in Ethiopia, and investing in tourist hotels in Kisumu --and not dog porno in Mombasa! The AU's inability to make a fist when it mattered most, made it a joke, and indeed revealed South Africa as a paper tiger, when her president was so openly humiliated in Tripoli on a doomed AU peace initiative.Baffled Western observers is therefore a stretch. Unforeseen tornados infantile fantasy.
Ever since the emergence of China as the main man in Africa over a decade ago, combined at that time with the petro-dollars largese of the late King of Kings, the AU has been a chamber of assertive African resolutions and a lot of anti-Western public rhetoric, even as some of the most ebullient revenue earners in Africa --the VODAFONES of Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria [You call it Safaricom here, they call it something else in other anglophone countries]-- have continued to be concerns from Motherland countries. [Ex euro colonial power].
Those reading policy papers from colonial powers would know these have come round to recognising the new reality, but with a caveat:
China is the top dog down there, not the AU! Ahmednassir, this is what happens when clever people insert their heads deep into another mans't rear portal. Their brains die of asphixiation and they can only belch rot.
It is difficult to find an African leader who would be where he is,
if judicial infrastructure were functional in Africa, This RESOLVE can simply be explained by THE GUILTY ARE AFRAID.
From president to jailbird like Gbagbo or Taylor is a horrible prospect. If the ICC gets more teeth, The jails of Holland could be the retirement homes of many an African leader.
But when it comes to stealth weapons or not to control Afrika, Ahmednassir has never heard of the real deals. The one occupying thinkers now is
AFRICOM. And the latest USA-NATO strategic paper on that ---published simultaneously with the controversial PROTOCOLS OF CYBER-WARFARE.
Africom is the facade of western duplicity, and sleepy Nairobi lawyer Nassir did not even mention it, preferring to 'hail'
abuses at the ICC, the only body which appears to fight the corner of the wretched victims of state impunity in Afrika!
How many of these anti-imperialist AU countries have secretly signed to AFRICOM? Pan-Africanist hero Kenya among them! which is a better explanation as to why the EU observers now have decided the KENYAN ELECTIONS WERE FAIR AND SQUARE, even if that small matter of 1 million votes is outstanding.
When a country like Mali blasts Western imperialism and the ICC,
while its president was pictured in Paris licking the boots of Hollande to help him get rid of a few rebels from Timbuktu! When mighty Nigeria had neither money nor transport planes to airlift 2000 troops to Mali, and once 'aided' by a western army, the soldiers discovered they had neither ammunition nor transport nor credit to call their wives home, and demanded the western governmen which had tricked them into Mali give them something small for fuel and credit
at least!
And Uhuru Kenyatta's first visit outside the continent was to London, to discuss Somalia, a neighbouring country where the KDF is holding sway if we believe majors Oguna and Chirchir! ---Why would you do that if you are not a homing pidgeon? What I saw were idiosyncratic tantrums of children lost in the wide world.
Salva Kiir, whose government, on audit by the IMF on preparation for a loan, was found not to have instituted any semblance of an
accounting department at the ministry of oil, from which South Sudan's ability to refund at a certain rate could be determined, talked of colonialism from Europe! ---He should re-read his mentor
Garang on the colonial mentality of Islamic North Sudan! which is what his army is still engaging at
Abiye, and it was the implicit threat of Obama air power that stopped Bashir in his tracks last year, when he made that INSECTS remark!
For those who have forgotten:
Omar Bashir famously said
his army would go all the way to Juba to eradicate INSECTS!
North Sudan under Bashir, is the true force that aims to derail Southern Sudan's independence project! When Kiir blasts the ICC as western imperialism, it could be correct to say WESTERN OBSERVERS were baffled more by HIS STUPIDITY AND BLINDNESS, than his iron pan-africanism!
That AhmedNassir fails to see through Kiir's outrage, makes me not think much of his abilities to think beyond anecdotes to draw laughter in fixed courtrooms.
As powerful as the past imageries of torture and injustice visited upon African by European colonialists are, the post-colonial period has itself created a library of horrors more fresh and urgent to a YOUNGER, CONTEMPORARY AFRICAN POPULATION, than the distant Mau-mau concentration camps.--In Nigeria, the brutalities of the
Biafra War determines national debate more than the pre-independence massacres.
--The POST
INDEPENDENCE Renamo atrocities of Mozambique,
--the UNITA-MPLA civil war in Angola,
--
Mugabe's 5th brigade in Matebeleland,
-- the Rwandan & Congo's genocide,
--Obote Musevenis
Luwero triangel,
-- Anyanya rebellion and SPLA war of liberation in Sudan,
-- Eritrean-Tigrayan civil war against Mengistu' Derge, and the Wholesale ethnic cleansing then
-- Somali's collapse into total anarchy, CAR's Bokassa and subsequent mayhem,
-- Morocco's atrocities in Saharawi .....
Background music and video footages huh!? ---
WHO IS BAD? sings Michael Jackson!Damn Nairobi lawyers! what
a group of callous fakheads DJs playing only part 1 of the record, forgetting part 2, the post-colonial period, is the climax to date!Let me cool down a bit before I answer his other demented concoctions. Man has become a hysterical heckler of the ICC, spinning the yarn the whole process from the beginning had only one purpose: TO PAVE THE WAY TO HOIST RAILA ODINGA AS PRESIDENT
By this time, I think we are dealing with something else other than
Ahmednassir's famous intellect. More a demon or demons in his heart methinks. When supposedly clever men become this stupid in public, spewing sh!t, you have to think of an African proverb.
The heart hungers only for what it wants. Or [WWF]
Ted Debiase's Everyman has a price!
Nassir is not interested in his intellectual credibility, nor his reputation as an objective scribe. Nor in the column he writes. He is gunning for may be extra bread.
Eh, Amollo Tinga, in hono omera! From Bondo you do manipulate the whole world! Ayie!
