The gloves are off...on, off...on. Well to put it politely it's getting down & dirty... Governor Kidero speaks of being 'squeezed' by ShebeshUpdated 6 hrs 59 mins ago Excerpt: "The controversy around the alleged assault of Nairobi Women Representative Rachel Shebesh by Nairobi County Governor Evans Kidero took a new twist when Kidero claimed he suffered ‘mild tenderness in his left groin’ when she grabbed and kicked his lower abdomen." www.standardmedia.co.ke/entertainment/pulse/106/local-news/1682/kidero-speaks-of-being-squeezed-by-shebeshDoes "left groin" mean left testicle or what? ( NB: If you watch the Capital FM video VERY closely you will note that Shebesh is wagging her right index finger at Kidero's face. Assuming she is right handed, she would have to take her left hand ACROSS the right side of Kidero's lower abdomen to successfully squeeze him in his "left groin", an unnatural maneuver even for a pro. She is quickly jostled away by his security (one of whom is the one actually telling her " kwenda uko!" <if you watch the NTV video closely, Kidero's lips do not move after the slap which he delivers while saying "COME ON!">) before she can get much as an "ayayayaya" out of her mouth...That's my Matlock moment for the day ). We may have missed a squeeze by Shebehs on the video, but surely could we have missed a kick? How does one get examined for a "squeeze" to the groin that will not leave a mark to the extent that "mild tenderness" can be detected? Now the the governor suffered a " soft tissue injury" in his lower abdomen occasioned by a squeeze from a woman, what does that say about his lower abdomen? Does his lack of a normal "knee jerk reaction" (ie protecting his nether regions) other than the slap mean that his nerves are dead in that region? These are the detailed questions I said earlier will be meticulously argued in a court of law that will make Clarence Thomas & Anita Hill's pubic hair in the Coke can look like child's play. Folks we all know Shebesh is a rabble rouser, but Kidero's school yard defense (she kicked me in the nuts) is an insult to all Nairobians (sic) & Kenyans intelligence as a whole. He should just apologize to Rachael Shebesh (not to her kept hubby) & wait for the consequences, & whether they are good or bad just move on... B6K, You are bent on arguing that Shebesh did not mess with Kidero's "left groin", but the woman has not disputed it. Or has she? I think wagging a finger in an adult's face in public is reason enough to get a "kwenda uko" slap in one's own ... and I find the utterance "come-on" to fit well with "whatever you do, don't mess with my downstairs!" She should also apologize, at least for wagging her finger in his face if not for inflicting injury in his groin. Either action is enough to trigger an unplanned slap. Indeed she did dispute it. Kidero's "below the belt" wacky allegation was made on Saturday and by the following day in the Sunday Nation (the same link you didn't upload a few days & threads ago!) Frank Shebesh accompanied by his wife had this to say: "Mr Shebesh, who was accompanied by his wife, said if Dr Kidero continued “peddling lies that he was assaulted by his wife’, then he would take the matter to court." www.nation.co.ke/news/Shebesh+ready+to+forgive+Kidero/-/1056/1984590/-/o7ifq5/-/index.html If that isn't a dispute RE squeezing of cojones then I don't know what is. Can you blame the "lady" for not wanting to directly refer to any below the belt business but instead hide behind her hubby in this her darkest hour? Unlike you I don't believe the kind of provocation we saw on the video excuses Kidero into taking the action of physical violence that he did. As governor of Nairobi he should've remained above the fray (as the stature of his office demands!), taken the finger wagging & "squeeze" like a gentleman & asked his security team to whisk Shebesh away.

That being the case, there is no currency in Kidero's allegation - this is not to say that he lied, but that it's his word against hers ... so nil net credit from me, unless I have basis to discount either party's argument. But I disagree with your idea of "remaining above the fray." That's the rational thing to do, but in certain cases the Kidero thing is what most people will do. I don't see a tinge of civility in Shebesh's approach. Kidero's reaction was a response in kind. I am starting to think that you, and our friend Jakaswanga, have been luckier than warranted you both ... not to have gone through moments of insanity all because someone exceeded his/her limit. I know nothing about Kidero, but would stand with him on this, only on the basis of the clip we've watched... although, accepting your word for it, I am less than impressed with his lie about Shebesh reaching below the belt.

Kidero is a waiting game for me Mank. He is a drip drip confession. A very slow walk toward the truth! 1. After the incident, he suffered what I can only call a 'convenient memory loss'!. However as the video of the ayayayayay moment went viral and told its own truth, the temporary amnesia receded, and he recalled the altercation ---life threatening situation, his reaction was defensive. ---There was, however, not yet talk of serious injuries arising from squeezes [as B6K insists] to his 'sehemu nyeti' which required the services of the family gynaeco! And later issuance of a P3! From there, lawyers seem to have taken over Kidero's responses after it appeared Shebbesh was going to charge him for assault. And it is this legal charade we have been watching: a strategy which goes: dawa ya moto ni moto. ---You assaulted her because she assaulted you! and with her character, that is believable! When the people in the room behind Kidero who had a view of the situation weigh in with their observations, i believe they will be more juice, since they all can not be bribed by the same side! Shebbesh did something, but she neither kneed Kidero's balls nor grabbed them! Both are not telling us the truth, so the best we can do is enjoy the comedy and let our imaginations fly! It is national entertainment. But what a pity a man of Kidero's eminence is just mere entertainment in a sordid tale!

Well, let me put it this way, I haven't resorted to the use of any kind of physical violence since primary school. Actions do have consequences and after a certain age you will find you are not being dragged to the headmaster's office but to a court of law. Naturally there are lots of people I would have wanted to take down since primary school, but violence should be a bit like the ICC...an act of last resort I saw nothing in the video that would've pushed me over the edge to slap someone. Granted, maybe Kidero heard something from Shebesh's lips, but that is precisely what he needs to tell all so that the court of public opinion can decide whether his action was really justified (or not) given the spoken provocation... That said, as Jakaswanga pronounced, I am a bit of E-terrorist right here on Jukwaa for posts that I consider deserve a good debunking...

On the services rendered by the family gynaecologist, I happened to be at a pub out of town when the 7 o'clock news (Swahili) aired. When the anchor mentioned Kidero's allegation of the assault on his " sehemu nyeti" the entire place roared with laughter. I agree with you that his lawyers (& the ODM think tank) decided that the big lie of a most ridiculous assault would be the way to go against Shebesh because she is after all a rather uncouth & unsavoury character. However, this "defence" may come back to bite Kidero because the "national entertainment" as you put it has brought the office of the Nairobi governor to disrepute. Kidero's gotta go...

So the mboys now claim they have enough evidence to charge both Rachael Shebesh & Evans Kidero with "affray (aka disturbing the peace). I can't wait to see what the DPP will do with this file. As Johnie Carson said, actions have consequences. "Under the penal code, affray, or fighting in a public place, is considered a misdemeanor and any person convicted is liable to imprisonment for one year". www.the-star.co.ke/news/article-136193/charge-both-kidero-and-shebesh-say-police

Mike Sonko and Rachael Shebesh fight leaving Shebesh with a Broken Arm Well, the Nairobi leadership seems to only be giving us nothing but public drama. Just a few weeks after the Nairobi women rep, Rachael Shebesh had a feud with the Nairobi governor Evans Kidero at a scene where Kidero slapped her in front of a camera, Shebesh is allegedly nursing a broken arm after another fight with yet another senior Nairobi politician, none other than the Nairobi senator, Mike Sonko. In today’s Maina in the morning, Maina Kageni took it to discussing violent women and drama queens in a topic driven by the fight between Sonko and Shebesh that happened at the prestigious Windsor Golf Club. This seems to be a habit Shebesh has developed over years working as a politician since no other logical explanation comes here – she first fought with the TNA politician Ferdinand Waititu just before the elections, in a heated feud that had to be stopped by Uhuru Kenyatta and Ruto, then the presidential candidates for her party. Shebesh got into the same hole again a few weeks ago when she was slapped by Kidero and now comes Sonko. All we can ask is, is she always seeking such trouble? According to multiple reliable sources, Shebesh checked in at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Upper Hill District accompanied by Nairobi County Senator Gidion Mbuvi shortly past 10pm.A senior manager at the hotel told the Star yesterday that they booked the prestigious business suite on 5th floor for a meeting while being served drinks, where the duo are frequent patrons. A few hours later, a shouting match ensued between the two long after their bodyguards had left."We could just hear her (Shebesh) throwing some unprintable words to the guest she was with. However, we could not access the suite as the lift to the 5th floor is controlled and restricted by our seniors and the private guests only," said the manager. Sonko yesterday confirmed the incident but played it down saying we should not probe his private life.He however confirmed that Shebesh had reported him to the Coalition of Violence Against Women (Covaw) lobby group that has since called him. Sonko claimed the women rep assaulted him and said he will be seeking legal redress in due course. The Senator launched a scathing attack at the top leadership of Covaw for allegedly condemning and threatening to take legal action against him. "I have been told that she (Shebesh) has reported the matter to Kilimani Police Station, but time will tell the truth. Men are being battered in silence but the so called Covaw which is composed of divorcees has the tenacity to attack men wherever they feel one of their own has been mishandled," he said yesterday. Efforts to contact Shebesh were futile, as her phone went unanswered. We also could not reach Covaw yesterday. In August, Sonko denied in an interview with a local daily that he was romantically involved with Shebesh. “I love Rachel so much as a good friend, but people just exaggerate things. I haven’t slept with her. I don’t know why people want to spoil Rachel’s good name. There is no romantic link between us,” Sonko was quoted saying. The incident comes hot on the heels of another incident which police are still investigating, where Shebesh and Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero were involved in a scuffle, with each claiming that they were assaulted. Shebesh reported to Parliament Police Station that Kidero slapped her while the governor recorded a statement at Central Police Station alleging Shebesh hit him on the groin. www.the-star.co.ke/news/article-137795/shebesh-fights-sonko

I have wanted to slap an Mpig for quite a while now - so you can imagine my excitement at the Kidero slap. . Kenyan Mpigs have had slaps coming to them for sometime now- my only regret is- she did not turn the other cheek. The next slap - Mike Mbuvi Sonko Senti 5 Here is what I said when Kidero landed on shebesh cheeks. I would be very shocked if the two are victims of a peeping hotel employee, in which case they deserve our respect of their privacy. It is radio silence from the usual TNA suspects. Funny how a day is long in politics. Should we prepare for governer's or is it women rep by election?? Senti 5

Why should we prepare for a women's Rep by election? Are you by any chance suggesting that Shebesh should resign for getting "herself" assaulted by her male counterparts? Shebesh may be a disagreeable or even irritating person but any assault on her person is a criminal offense and any person who would stoop that low has no business holding on to public office. Kidero and Sonko should resign pronto they have proven themselves thugs and are an insult to Nairobians! No, the poor girl is way out of her depth and doesn't even realise that she is being destroyed. My understanding of Nairobi politics leads me to believe that: One, Nairobi has its owners and they seem to be comfortable with Kidero, save for his foul temper. After all they reason, "it's only a silly girl from the Kanjura class who got herself slapped". Secondly, TNA is divided between the kanjura types and the urban middle classes who voted for ODMs Kidero. A by election at this time presents a real possibility of TNA losing the the seat to a less malleable person so why rock the boat? Shebesh represents the old city council power players (mainly kanjura types) who had the city in their grip since independence, the new constitution changed all that and gave the chance for the better educated urbanites to wrest control and manage the city. They have no intentions of giving up that power and the real owners of Nairobi support them. Shebesh refused to drop the assault charges against Kidero thus threatening the interests of the real power players in Nairobi, we can all see the consequences. B6k, Why is this Shebbesh on a self-destruct mission? Fahari, if you listen to this radio interview of Sonko & Roy Ogola RE the recent nude photos of Shebesh & Sonko, you'll find out that the photos were actually leaked by none other than Sonko himself. So much for his "photoshop" defence...

B6k, I was wondering when the sniper would be back from his new year sabbatical! I believe I saw you yesterday on the ICC thread! welcome back! ---by the way, it seems you had actually started an ICC-Uhuru cases collapse thread way back, before my brother Omwenga saw the light! But for today, I just wanted to say I just saw that Rachel Shebesh has forgiven Evans Kidero, for the sake of Nairobi service delivery. What I don't know is, does a prosecution drop an assault charge because the injured party has forgiven the tormentor? Over to the lawyers! www.capitalfm.co.ke/news/2014/02/i-have-forgiven-kidero-shebesh/

As snipers are wont to do, I was waiting for the right errant post to take aim & fire! at my foe of the day. It just happened Otishotish's foggy memory on the veracity of the ICC case(s) was the post that deserved a silver bullet. I still remain very much in lurking mode until the next election (pronounced as one would do in Nyeri) brings out the very best of Jukwaa; hard-knuckled, bare fisted e-brawling! The blog has been as tame as a daily newspaper that ought to be wrapping meat &/or other commodities since we all faced reality & moved on... If the Kidero-Shebesh saga fades away into oblivion thanks to an out of court settlement, it will simply confirm what I've argued all along on several threads. KE remains a land of privilege (private law) for the few, & draconian law for the many...

Just one of the many things I think about kedero's very public assult on Shebesh. ( I love the sound of her last name. sweet africans Rachel Wamboi Shebesh, Nairobi's Women Representative, raises poignant issues about the implications outside of her personal experiences of kidero's assult on her. Outside of Shebesh's experience at the personal levels; there are far reaching implications of that slap heard and seen around the country. For starters, it is symptomatic of the levels of male violence against women in Kenya, This violence is ordinarily deployed with impunity, anytime, any place, any woman. Sonko also assulted Shebesh, shortly after kidero. All these are high ranking politicians in our biggest city. Oh wow Kenyans, I find all this outrageous. And even more so that it is ordinary for you. The country's been reduced to substandard and crazy living. Since no justice is going to happen in Nairobi any time soon, I hope kidero had to pay her out. I hope shebesh stuck to her guns and got a fair deal. After all that he couldn't bring himself to issue more than a half hearted twitted appology. No face to face with the press. And, she had to be the one to say "I've forgiven kidero". While he should have been the one to say, sorry to Shebesh first, her family, to his family (who if they're normal he embarrassed) and to the entire country, Then and only then could we even consider forgiveness. All too juvenile really. allafrica.com/stories/201402020139.html
