Perhaps Ong'wen would have made an effort to read the whole statement from the president:
PRESIDENT UHURU KENYATTA ISSUES EXECUTIVE ORDER PLACING KWS, KFS AND NYS PERSONNEL, EQUIPMENT UNDER THE COMMAND OF THE INSPECTOR GENERAL OF POLICE June 22, 2014/in Human Security, News, Press /by PSCU
NAIROBI 21 JUNE 2014 (PSCU)
President Uhuru Kenyatta has today placed security personnel and equipment of the Kenya Wildlife Service, the Kenya Forest Services, the Kenya Prisons Service and the National Youth Service under the command of the Inspector General of Police.
In addition, the operations of any aircraft owned by Government entities, except the Kenya Defence Forces, will be availed to the Inspector General of Police for the purpose of enhancing the country’s ability to combat insecurity.
The order was issued through an Amendment of Executive Order No.2/2013, Functions under Ministry of Environment, Water and Natural Resources, Ministry of Devolution and Planning and Petroleum, and Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government.
The decision is aimed at making coordination of provision of security more efficient and becomes effective today
But then he is one of the many busy bodies who ignorantly make noise on virtually anything shooting down ideas without offering any solutions.
Has Ong'wen ever wondered how Prisons staff get used during the general elections for security or the routine security duties given to the NYS under a police command? One could go on and quote examples of how these services have worked with the police service, but I suspect an act of transparency to allow an understanding of government is working presents the opportunity for ignorant rants about the constitution!
