THE MIDDLE EAST: WRESTLING WITH THE LEGACY OF PICOT-SYKESMirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest? Snowhite! Snowhite! --came the magical response. That is in that most famous of fairy tales from the genial German brothers Jacob and William Grimm. And Oh Fates! O Good Heavens! Of all these forces competing for my hand? Who is the fairest of the cast? Who is the best for the land? (A proverbial Arab Wanjiku might ask, looking at all the gunmen raising flags around.) But this.. Allah Allah! O Supreme Almighty! As the spring freezes back into winter .. Where is the promise of the new season? Where is the warmth of summer-time love? --- (Is how I imagine the Cries of the Arab Public at the mirror of Hope) --- Well, I can only imagine too, that the mirror of hope retorts with a dark tone of mockery, hinting the summer of plenty is in the past, but of course will rotate back; but before then, a deep breath of patience will be needed; for deep, and deep will be the winter, and slow and slow, the rotation of the wheels of time, and fortune! It is the mother bedbug assessment to her young as hot stuff flows through their hideout. That yes, is how I imagine the situation in the Arab World and Middle East today. Libya is non existent as a state, a gangland; Algeria Frozen in time with a corpse for a president. Egypt is shrivelled back to the last gasp of a Ptolemaic incestuous puppy; Palestinian statehood dispersed and its seeds germinating wild fruits. Syria and Iraq are dismembered like a carcass of ancient bones; and Yemen, foully offside, barely into the stone-age. But the belly of the beast is in motion, ruminating, brooding, O yeah, mulling over its future. A future taking the first tentative steps of fertilisation in a mating ritual where one of the partners must die. And what a copulation it has been, inside the Sykes-Picot cages. For instance, let us re-visit this moment of furious passion in the Syrian theatre of Baathist love. Hama, Syria, 1982 he he he! You probably never heard of it. Just like of the events surrounding this memorial in South KoreaMei 18 Minjung memorial tower, K/GwangjuIt is in the decomposition that an observant eye sees the signs of a new life, of new life forms. Life forms for whom the rot## and compost, are the natural and fertile manure to emerge like a plague of mushrooms. DAASH or ISIS is one such. Re-introducing the concept LEVANT, eastern Mediterranean, into contemporary political discourse. In three weeks, this organisation has brought the USA, Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Hezbollah, Israel, Russia –the motley crew of would-be desperate enemies, into a unified alliance fighting one corner: saving Baghdad. That is a Big Political Bang, and needs serious thinking. The earth’s crust has moved. NB: Later, time allowing, we will come back to the moral rot of the Middle East, which of course will include the depths of depravity to which Israel has sunk in her endeavour to smash Palestinian resistance and associated dreams of nationhood. As the old saying goes, the middle east, no place for faint hearts!) But for now … Who is on the up in the middle east? (Apart from the oil companies whose profits are always on the up). First, a brief look at the shifting geopolitical picture precipitated by the limping power of the United States. (This power is in bed with Al-Qaida affiliates in Syria, but gearing to bomb the same group in Iraq, where she finds herself in the same hole with the axis of evil nation, Iran. That is how tough choices can be!). I have heard tell the dismembering of Iraq was all along the intended SD&Pentagon Policy, to remove her as an ‘existential threat’ to Israel. I doubt that, the costs of the gulf wars in both man and material to the USA have been outrageous for such an easy project. The USA has been a pillar of the status quo in that area. More like the Ottoman empire once was before the war. USA support for Israel is irreproachable, righteous; her support for the regressive House of Sauds trenchant; her propping up of the Jordanian royalty stalwart, and her menacing sixth fleet, or is it the fifth, commanding the airwaves and sea-lanes around the gulf of Hormuz and its environs, a cop of iron glare determining the price of oil at the USA’s leisure. That is the world order. And it has brought unparalleled prosperity to some quarters. Such quarters, naturally, would rather have things staying the same. The new order, just another name for the old order. However, for those whose blood and bodies are the meal at the party of profit, paradise lies somewhere far, far in the future, and one way to speed up its arrival could just be the choice of martyrdom. Then, you have a situation. O yeah, we have one alright. The birthplace of three great religions is hot, even in winter. And as the Arab spring has begotten but an Arab winter, once should not be surprised hearts have frozen cold, and an unparalleled viciousness taken center stage. What a wonderful spectacle, John Kerry welcoming back to the American democratic fold, the new Mubarak of Egypt, the 93% vote winner of a Field Marshall Al Sisi. One small step forward for America, a quantum leap back to prehistory for Egypt. No quarters given here. End part 1.

This is Saddam Hussein in his last day in court. It is an intriguing document worth Jukwaa's time, and I have quit the football match featuring Leonel Messi --the Argentinian wonder-boy and fraudster of a tax-dodger-- to record it here. Because there is a terrible footnote to this event.
This Judge condemning Saddam Hussein was captured this week by the ISIS. the caption on his last moments is a terse chill. The dog who betrayed the martyr Saddam Hussein, President of a free Iraq, has met his fate. He was tried for collaborating with enemy against his country, and executed.
In the above video in the American sponsored court, we are watching the death-dance of the two men, leading actors. Saddam would quickly be put to death, the Judge would take a while.
NB: Other reports say the Judge Raouf Abdul Rahman is still alive and well, and the report of his execution is a haox by Al-Douri, Sadam's erstwhile deputy..

THE NON-NEWS EXODUS OF CHRISTIANS FROM IRAQ: GOODBYE CRUSADERS!I usually wake up to the sound of some pre-programmed music. My alarm device is wired to a painfully selected catalogue, because I usually wake up in a bad mood and thus needs reminders of beautiful things to cope. Most of my favourites are old school Congolese, or what we call lingala these days. During the weekends, the numbers are a guitar fireworks display of intricate finger patterns of thoroughly-sung geniuses like Mavatiku Visi, Niko was Kassanda, and Vata Mombasa whose work on the rythm guitar –-mostly in orch Lipua Lipua, I haven't seen challenged by any other guitarist on this planet, living or dead. Ace stringer Lokassa ya Mbongo is the nearest thing I can think of, but when I re-listen to Mbondo, Temperature and Novelle Generation in state of the art soundclouds, the virtuosity of Vata clinches the aces for me. On weekdays like this one I will tell you about, I go for melancholic stuff which expresses some pain of Africa. The gut-wrenching soliloquys of Madilu System, Maimona Mangwana singing Simaro Inspired, and, this week, I have been doing with Ndona of Orchestre Veve, featuring the mercurial Verkys on sax. Now, when the chorus starts, replace Ndona with Gaza and see what you get! –-- Gaza eih Gaza! Gaza –-Palestina! ….. Gaa-zaaa Gaza! Gaza! mama Gaza –--- Gaza O Gaza1 Wololo O Gaza! This song, rumoured to have been done to commemorate the death of the composer's mother, reminds me of a gift I had planned for my mother but which was never to be. She is a strong Christian unlike my pagan dad, and I had saved to afford her a trip to Holy Jerusalem, bribing Kenyan migration officials for quick travelling document. Then something happened and Jerusalem became too hot. ---I think it was the lumbering Ariel Sharon walking about at the contested Temple Mount-cum-Al- Aqsa veranda, triggering an insurrection named Intifadah. 2nd or 3rd I have no idea. So I took my mother to Ethiopia instead, to gape at some ever pristine orthodox rituals! Just to warn her Protestanism is a yesterday thing. Young. I was still humming Ndona/Gaza under the shower when I remembered an item from yesterday's news. The Tomb of Jonas in Mosul Iraq had been, not desecrated, but blown up without much fanfare and lost to history. All Christians in the recently declared caliphate of al-Baghdadi must convert to the true path, or leave. Christianity, originated as a middle east religion, is being uprooted from Iraq, and it is not big deal really. After a thousand years, the crusaders are being expelled. I guess the war lasted so long folks just forgot about it. And what was it all about really? Then I thought of George Herbert Walket Bush II. And the post 9-11 events. Does he, the ex war president, look at the current expulsion of Christians from Iraq and hold his heart as a bolt of pain shoots through it? Does the destruction of great Christian sites going without even a single note of protest from any noteworthy dignitary disturb him? Does he recognise his invasion of Iraq under false pretenses was a chicanery too far in the land of Gods? Does he muse it was a dangerous act like that of Tantalos, testing the gods and laughing at foolish Demeter, thereby unlocking the wrath of the earth? I wonder. Hmmm At the back of my mind, I refuse to believe Dubya was evil in intent from the start. I believe, as a born-again Christian who wanted to do good and God's work, the idea of EXPORTING OR BRINGING DEMOCRACY TO IRAQ, must have filled his simple heart with visions of sainthood --he he!. But the ideologues surrounding him, like Wolfowitz, Perle and the rest of Rumsfeld and Chenney's gang, possibly not having a very high opinion of him –- they dubbed him Dubya didn't they?-- saw in him the perfect instrument for their grandiose schemes of empire: Occupation and annexation of the vast energy resources of the Mesopotamia. With Saudi Arabia and Kuwait already in the bag, Iraq could be a launching pad to annex next door resources in Iran too. And from there, Azerbeijan and the Caspian sea is wide open. A perfect plan. Now it just needed some gobbledegook to confuse the simple-minded born-again at the White House. Al-Qaida + Badguy Saddam = OUT! Democracy + Freedom = IN! Hurrah! Equations never came easier than that, and Dubya got that one alright. Weapons of Mass Destruction? Do not worry about that Mr. President. We have the CIA to take care of that. And so the simple plan, based on a lie, went into action. Saddam went for sure –-with three generations of the Hussein al Tikritis. Iraq is going if not gone too. But most importantly, there will be no more Christianity in Iraq soon. Like Islam and Christianity erased the old religion of the Pharaos in Egypt, Christianity in Iraq is passing into folklore right before our eyes. And nobody cares. ####footnote] Ladies and gentlemen, these are truly historical times we live in. God, i wish my mum's trip to Jerusalem had succeeded. I got a feeling something will have to give in Jerusalem. Not the Palestinians, nor the Israelis. Definitely the Christians. There is a shit storm out there, coming to Jerusalem. Methinks it gonna hit the Christians first. Dubya? Aach, I doubt he could show you where the middle east is in the map of the world. NB ####: Some junior French official cares enough to have suggested all Christians should be given automatic assylum in the EU. The problem is, the mediterranean islands of the EU –--Lampedusa and the rest, are currently prison islands holding thousands of illegal migrants from Africa and the wider middle east. And they are breeding children into statelessness. And the EU with its sophisticated bureaucracy is paralysed to do anything about this situation. A publicised positive discrimination of Christians from the middle east, added into this explosive mixture!? Waaah! There would be a public movement in Islamic lands to expell all Christians to their promised land. There is a Canadian/American movie called a simple plan. I recommend you watch it. from the book by Scott Smith.

Well, nothing but the best to be said over the dead. And so even as we mourn the bureaucratic passing away of the Kenyan DGI Michael Gichangi, I will let you to it for the moment, O my fellow Kenyans, because I really have some pressing tribal matter to first attend to. Gichangi was a Kikuyu, raised ... used and dumped by his fellow Kikuyus, like Njuguna Miguna was lionised then mentalised by his fellow Luos. That is elite auto-cannibalism for you. No shortage of new cogs to take their place. Amen. I will come back to it once I regain my Kenyan composure and humour. For Gichangi can not be written about without humour. Remember he is the intelligence chief who arrested a blogger called Omondi, and told us this was the guy who runs Al-Shabaab tweets from Nairobi. This Omondi turned out to be .. yeah, what really!? A Mutahi Ngunyi red-herring to prove ''Cordeds'' were a terrorist franchise, O My, moonlighting for Aden Duale look-alikes !? But now, out of tribal loyalty to Barack Obama –(O yeah, our blood ties go back a long way, all the way to the twins Gilo and Dimo up Shilluki ranges in lower Nubia, long before Adam and Eva)-, I want to write about Abubakr al Baghdadi, who has done to SUNNI nationalism in Iraq what Khomeini did to Shiite nationalism in Iran. The cleric has riveted Sunnism to non-secular political ideology in a secular country, and taught it to love matyrdom. At the same time, Abubakr has broken ranks with the colonially dictated borders, thus wrong footing Arab progressive nationalists. The educated progressives of Arabia have been left to defend the status-quo which is what the Arab spring sprung against in the first place! Oil winnings are booming to the sky in the region, yet young Arabs are dying like their ever-worthless Sub-Sahara counterparts in rickety boats, crossing the Mediterranean for the promised infidel paradise Europe, where the life of lowlies and menials await them, like the protesting blacks of Ferguson Missouri who have forgotten they are living the American dream. NB: It was indeed a first-class graduate hawking a few veges in the streets of Tunis –teeming with +50% youth unemployment, who ignited the Arab spring after he immolated himself, following a policeman confiscating his mkokoteni and throwing his meagre mechandise on the sandy streets. A ritualised, castrating show of incumbent power. EXIT BARACK OBAMA, ENTER HILARY CLINTON TO CLEAR THE MESS? And in Vietnam, one step led to another, until ... At the best of times, old soldiers just fade away, walking slowly into the sunset as was told by MacArthur, the soldier who thought he was too big for his boss, but was too scared to mount a coup, and therefore had to saunter off with his tail folded between his knees. There is also General McCrystal who, as supreme commander in Afghanistan, thought Obama had no business running the war even if he was the peoples choice for Commander in Chief. The General had to fade away. --to some lucrative security contract of course. [interesteing recollection of the Generals Stormin Norman Schwarzkopf and Collin Powell over Iraq, reconstructing when some Hothead marine Rambo captain was minded to ignore the orders to stop on his tracks and not go all the way to Baghdad for regime change. The senior Bush, unlike the son, had no appetite for entering what he called a hell's hole where the devil Sadam held sway. Bush Jnr would subsequently appoint a General, Gardner, then a boy, Bremer, to be prefects replacing Saddam in Baghdad. And here we are today. Surge after surge dissppeared under the dunes of the desert. And so more bombs is the recipe. Obama serving.] I also remember the politics of the surge commander, the genius David the Petraeus of Baghdad, hyping himself into the skies with his total pacification of Iraq, and no longer feeling comfortable listening to the nonsense from Washington. Everybody in Washington was spooked and believed his 4-stars hype, and he was catapulted to head the CIA and pacify the whole world with drones, as he impatiently waited to replace the wimp Barrack at the White House. OBAMA THE EMPEROR OF NEW ROME, STEEPED IN ORTHODOXYOf course Big-David had fallen into the trap of conceit once excelled at by the Vietnam pacifier McNamara, the one [jan 1961-Feb 1968] time defence secretary and later World bank mea-culpa man.. Another whizz-kid like Zbigniew Brzezinski, he believed America could never go wrong, and had God's mandate to do good, whatever the price. But what do we know about whizz-kids and their egos when in the vicinity of power? mere wretched liars, cheap manipulators, and total scorn for even the laws of their own land, not to mention the public opinoon of their people. Ha! They lie with impunity and operate like Gods of divine powers, manufacturing pretexts to shock and awe with military prowess. Weapons of Mass Destruction! Gulf of Tonkin incident! Let the bombs roll! Operation rolling thunder: genocide over North Vietnam. Like shock and awe, based on WMD lies, the incident at the gulf of Tonkin would be a prelude to one to one the greatest genocides of the cold-war period, Operation rolling thunder. 1-3 million Vietnames would die. And then more in neighbouring Cambodia. Post-cold war would have Rwanda of course, and Congo DRC, with the one in DRC a spill-over just like the war-criminal genocidal bombardment of Cambodia by Nixon and Kissinger was spill-over from the Vietnam theater of operations. But there is an intriguing insight into the evolution of Vietnamese history why the imperialist geniuses like MacNamara and his successor Henry Kissinger had their minds blunted, their souls lost, and turned into ordinary war criminals bent on wiping out whole populations, as if they were faithful Nazi robots in East Europe. anthropology.utoronto.ca/people/faculty/hy-van-luong/ Hy van Luong –a vietnam anthropologist, reasons: The american phase, 1965-1975, superceding the French colonial phase –-(which from the 1860s ends with the second world war and the start of the cold war)-- was the final act in the modern Vietnamese national revolution against foreign occupiers. After more than 500 years of chaos and 100 years of European custodial dismemberment, Vietnam would emerge as a modern forged nation, having paid the price of more than 5 million dead in two generations. This means MacNamara, Kissinger, Nixon, Lyndon Johnson, JFK with their arsenal of B52s and atomic power, were the last hurdle in the path of an unfolding modern vietnamese nationalism, no longer capable of bowing to external domination. This natioalism would be forced in her final corner toward the finish, to challege and size up against the most formidable military machine ever assembled in the history of mankind. This is a daunting prospect for any human mind, even if a genius. For an angry super power, will wipe out a people standing in its path. A long time ago, I remember for a class assignment we spent a whole holiday on a comparative between Lawrence of Arabia and Vo Nguyen Giap of the Vietminh. Why did I come here?1. I am thinking my fellow Luo brother Barack Obama is being tricked by history into a similar trap in Iraq. Like Kissinger and MacNamara, Obama is a Harvard big-brain sure of his destiny and the position of his country as the top dog, exceptional and enlightened unto the heavens. He has the power of bombs; and he is cold-heart like Richard Nixon or any other mass-killer the USA has produced as CIC. Now he is heading back to Iraq. Obviously something happened to mission accomplished as announced by Dubya Bush. And jnr had to go in to finish the business left unfinished by snr. And now it is lame-duck Barrack gsping at the last bend to pass over the button to mrs. Clinton! - -Who, O Good Heavens, will break the chain, since every POTUS with his bombs is a genocide chapter on the Iraqi peoples? hey, I do not want the Luo Presidency of the --civilised - world to end up just like every other Tom Dick and Harry potentate having his river of blood down the historical drainage! But my thinking is, Arab nationalism, betrayed by the secularists in the now aborted spring, is entering the final phase of sorting itself out from quisling leaders of partition, whose careers depend on the Sykes-Picot colonial arrangement. Obama is on the side of maitaining the Sykes-Picot colonial dismememberment –-Vietnam must be two, Germany too-- while everbody knows at the earliest opportunity, given free choice, there is only one Germany, only one Vietnam, and Kurdistan. The Kurds have been dreaming of their own state for 500 years. They are distributed over Iran, Turkey, Syria, and Iraq.Any idiot out there thinks the Kurds prefer being Iraqi, Syrian, Iranian, or any of those former Ottoman provinces like Jordan, instead of being simply being Kurd in Kurdistan!? And the Palestinians, they have to live in a concentration camp forever as rats in an Israeli cage? –- Obviously Obama-no-drama thinks this is as it ought to be. The Shiite of South Iraq forgot about Iraq long ago. While they have bombed and destroyed Universities in Sunni Heartlands, their children go to Iran's Nobel-price producing colleges, nuclear centrifuging colleges and schools. The amount of money the Shiite elite have stolen from the Iraqi state and pocketed or invested in Iran while Iraqi cities are sewage dumps and hospitals medieval, is numerically insane. T hey all recognise history has moved on past the Picot-Sykes Iraqi State. But the shell still has its advantages and so the rotten power play in Baghdad which has just seen Al-Maliki replaced. This dead Iraq, abandoned by her own people already, is the one Obama wants to resuscitate for America's geo-political advantages. Well, methinks Barack however briliant is late, like MacNamara and Kissinger in Vietnam. All he can do now is bomb and bomb ISIS, and forge it into a pathology the equivalent of the Khmer Rouge, forged by the insane Kissinger-Nixon total bombardment of the Cambodian countrysides back to pre-history. NB: There has been a powerful finale this week in Phnon Pehn, Kampuchea, when former Pol Pot Loyalist Khieu Samphan, and Brother number one Nuon Chea, former Khmer Rouge Premier, were sentenced in their old age to life for crimes against humanity. Kissinger and Nixon went scot free for their part, but I doubt Obama and Kerry would miss an indictment if they rained bombs with impunity in Iraq today, just after Bush and Blair got away with their own war crimes on the same dead country. -- see footnote on congenital defects arising from the use of DEPLETETED URANIUM AND WHITE PHOSPHORUS ammo.nb2. Yesterday there were jokes, now confirmed, about a quivering Netanyahu pleading with Obama to do everything in his power to block the Palestinian lobby to have him, Netanyahu, indicted for war crimes in Gaza. Obama must know he could, in a few years, be quivering on the telephone to Hilary Clinton, beseeching her not to extradite him to the Hague. The way he used Clinton horishly in her first term as secretary of state, the lady could just have a a .. ahem.. black-out moment and have Barrack pegged. Hell hath no fury like an avenging old woman. No, I do not want the Arab Abubakr al Baghdadi, the Caliph of the IS, to trick this Luo golden-boy into historical infamy. I have watched another Islamic cleric, Sheikh Yassin of Gaza, the founder of Hamas, trick Bibi Netanyahu out of his soul. No, I wont want Abubakr of Asmara to do that with Barrack Hussein, Jatend Jokanergi.FOOTNOTE A. WHERE IS IRAQ's OIL MONEY?Gotta go and drink now fellas! A bit of short-wave! Haven't finalised the above promised footnotes yet --depleted uranium and white phosphorus bombs in relation to an Iraqi epidemic of congenital defects, thanks to Tony Blair and George Bush jnr. N ow something on a lighter note! and then a heavy finishing touch.Europe is an old continent. And Europe has always loved Obama. Because he was not George Bush Jnr. aka President Dubya. Europe loves a sophisticated American President. Like Bill Clinton who had even taken a semester off Yale to try Oxford; and of course with abandon, taste some vintage English p-ussy. –-wouldn't it be dangerously negligent on a critical blog to pretend this side of Bill is not a major character trait? The man eats and breathes P-U double S-Y. Of course the USA being a young nation, therefore still naively god-fearing to compensate for youthful insecurity, is necessarily given to hypocritical paroxysm in the face of sexual scandal. such can even destroy a promising political career, unlike France where the likes of the late emperor François Mitterand bathed in Akuku-Danger-like polygamous amore, with public glee. Pictured: Ancentus "Danger" Akuku (shown here in 1984) was widely regarded as Kenya's most prolific polygamist; he married over 100 women during his life. Bill Clinton did steal European hearts, and the intermezzo of Dubya was experienced in Europe as a modern version of the dark ages. I mean Guatanamo is a medieval inquisition camp, far far far before the renaissance. so the coming of Obama was equivalent to the promise of enlightenment, a man you could argue philosophy with, from the First Mesopotamian Poet to the last of the German greats –-Heidegger or Kant, take your pick! And he was a bit of a Negro too! A throw back to the philosopher Kings of old Egypt! This was gonna be a Waauw presidency! yeah! Europe being that old, has some loose folds of skin to tidy up. eg –-WHEN IS A GENOCIDE A GENOCIDE? Which genocides are you allowed to deny, and which ones are you in error of civilisation when you deny? [ie, it is illegal in the EU to deny the holocaust]. lET us do a bit of Armenian blues. Now here is the catch: Actually what you have read up there is false . There was no genocide on the Armenians by the Turks! No genocide, that is the official American governmental position --under blackmail by Turkey in geopolitical NATO calculations; and so one waits for a renaissance man with a better mind to come into the Oval office and do justice to terminology while keeping Turkey on board if amust! And yes he can! Thought many a historian in Europe and America, lamenting the pus-sy-wasted mind of Bill and the God-wasted mind of the Texan Dubya. All hopes were now on Harvard school, seeing Yale trained crap. And then www.armenianweekly.com/2014/04/24/obama-fails-recognize-genocide/ And so there was silent amazement when it appeared last week, as Obama explained his new bomb-runs over Nothern Iraq, that, after all, he actually can tie meaning and action to the word GENOCIDE! time.com/3095598/obama-iraq-isis/ –-Potus Obama explains. No No No! My fellow Luo omera! If for all Harvard law school you can not bring yourself to characterise what happened to the Armenians in 1915+ as genocide, I think you are disqualified from using that term, since it is in doubt you comprehend the meaning. I will go with maestro counsellor CMG Arguings Kodhek, Scotland trained. Old Europe alumni. Havard comes with too many cobwebs! If Clinton and Obama can not call a genocide a genocide, what am i suppose to think about elite law schools? they train you in law, but not in thought! NB: By the time Obama was doing his bomb runs to prevent his genocide in Iraq, most of the Yazidis had been liberated by the PKK –-the Kurdish Workers Party. This majorly Turkish-Kurdish group is officially classified as a terrorist organisation in both the USA and the EU and banned. But they are guerrillas of more punching power than the peshmergas of Iraqi Kurdistan who are of course Oil Sheikhs. As I go to press now, the Mosul Dam is reported back in Kurdish hands after recapture from ISIS. The USA was the airforce of the Peshmerga. But if one considers who did the bulk of the punching on the ground, then one has to substitute PKK for Peshmerga. Such are the cobwebs of US policy in Iraq. And it will be noted that across the -non existent- border-- in Syria, the USA is actually a partner of ISIS against Assad! There are people who think these are genial geopolitical moves by the super power of Obama. I think this is just plane confusion. The super power is clueless. Disoriented in the desert.

''Events dear boy, events!'' Old Harold is reputed to have sighed, when a young journalist asked him what it was he feared most as Prime Minister of Great Britain. And this was what I thought of, as I looked at Barrack Obama's latest press conference, laboriously striving to take the moral high ground in the light of the latest outrageous propaganda film from the Islamic State. In reaction to US-Commander-in-Chief's 'limited bombardments' which had allowed the ''Kurdish Peshmerga'' to recapture the strategic Mosul Dam in Northern Iraq, the IS slit the throat of the American journalist James Fowley whom they had been holding captive for some time. And they dressed him up in the so-called ''Guantanamo fatigues'', and publicised the professionally produced footage on social media, with a man thought to be a Brit due to his London accent, starring as the Cut-throat. (A sociological argument has broken out amongst the chattering classes as to why Britain seems to be the chief supplier of the cruellest of them Jihadis? I probably should visit that on the great rotten britain thread) ...Meanwhile... on The Empire has to hit back.scallywagandvagabond.com/2014/08/isismediablackout-james-foley-beheading-should-the-media-black-out-all-isis-propaganda/ The empire has to hit back. President Obama may have reckoned he could coolly fly in and out of Iraq, making a prepared number of bomb-runs all in a day's work, and somehow that would be that, but, Alas! –-(He was actually on summer holiday when he authorised his the first runs, and the same when Ferguson Missouri began to burn; but of course history does not go according to the agenda of POTUS, even if POTUS has the greatest power of causing death ever vested in the hands of a single human kind). Events, dear boy, events! Cried Ol' Harold. The past day, the Western World has obsessed over this IS video (depicting the execution of the American journalist James Fowley). If the US marines had awed the world with their spectacular images of smart bombs homing on IS targets and blasting -'' degrading''- them Jihadists by scores to smithereens, the IS propaganda department responded with a macabre of its own. The war is technologically asymmetric in battlefied hardware, but propaganda is a function of the devious creativity of the human mind. And a super power has no monopoly of creativity. What it has more, is a near a monopoly of the distribution of images by owning most of the owners of the media outlets. Now, by producing its own video as a message to the USA, the caliphate forced President Obama to immediately respond. Actually immediately. He will be relentless. And right there is the promise of more blood letting. The empire must quench her thirst for vengeance, in crimson. And it will be Islamic blood, in this case Sunni. Obviously if you are a Christian and living in that neighbourhood, and you have not moved, time is running out. This I think is the prelude to the total re-arrangement of populations. This is a Christian empire going for Islamic blood. A perfect --rerun of a-- medieval scenario instinctively understood by all. Events dear boy, events. Now Obama no drama, is set to be dramatic. From obscure drone-hits to spectacular bomb strafes. The empire must avenge. More like Netanyahu in Gaza. The emperor can not afford to appear weak and ineffectual. Meanwhile in the West, another watershed has been reached. Social media like twitter is black-outing ISIS images. And elsewhere, reality is so brutal, journalists would rather report feel good stuff like Jay-Z and Beyonce make-up close-ups. The scorching gaze from the eye of Abubakr al-Baghdadi has broken the lens of social media and sent all papers black like the IS flag. It is a dark age once more. www.dw.de/calls-for-isis-media-blackout-after-reported-execution-of-us-journalist/a-17864585 Here is the ticket to the escalation. Rolling Thunder echoes! Rambo! No man! No War! No law, No one, can stop him!

We will muse abit about this Rambo thing later. First, an interesting US-SD policy turn-around in Syria. Reports are filtering in of American military action in Syria against the ISIS, DASH, or now simply the IS. No, this is not about the aborted mission to save the journalist, James Fowley ( executed on Wednesday 20/08/14). Rather this is fresh action, in response to the change of heart in Washington about the threat posed by the said group, post execution of Fowley. There is a bit of a mix here which needs careful dissection, otherwise some folks will grin in malicious hindsight, of the I-told-you-so kind. From the beginning, Bashir al-Assad maintained he was fighting terrorism of the most barbaric order. That his own father Hafez Al-Assad was the ultimate barbarian is beside the point for the moment. -- Guy wiped out a 30,000 people in Hama and was still dubbed a friend of civilisation by Jacques Chiraq of France. (' 'I extend a hand of friendship to you like I did to your father, a friend of civilisation!'' the charmeur Chiraq allegedly told Bashir Al-Assad!) As the the Arab spring reached Syria and the rebellion against young Bashir went into stalemate, geopolitical inclinations of the USA dictated it was young Basil to be bombed, and his bad-guys regime annihilated. And promptly the pretext of a chemical gas attack was found to talk about a RED LINE CROSSED IN THE SAND. Bombs would rain on Bashir's head, not to mention the massive caches of arms that, via the puppet regimes in the middle east that jump at the beck and call of the US, flooded into the hands of the Islamist opposition to the Baathists. It was known key fighters in this mix were Al-Qaeda linked Jihadist groups. Washington was in league with Al-Qaeda in Syria against the evil Baathist Assad. The enemy of my enemy is usually my friend, goes an old saying from China. And so the cosiness continued to blossom, even when American journalists were kidnapped in Syria by the said groups! It took the Russian president Vladimir Putin to halt the careless duplicity of Obama and his sidekick John Kerry. He offered Washington a face-saving formula in which the chemical stockpiles of the Syrians would be eliminated. At the same time, the middle east was dumbfounded to realise the chemical gas attack had not been perpetrated by the Baathist regime, but was a smokescreen operation to manipulate public opinion to legitimise a ''decapitative'' bombing of Bashir. Some say it is this strategic defeat that so angered Washington they decided Vladimir Putin needed to be cut down, and directly led to the preparation of the Ukrainian crisis. Thwarting New Rome and unmanning POTUS as such, the emerging and threatening geopolitical significance of Putin at the head of Russia would have to be neutralised, in empire thinking. But now it would appear the Americans have totally come round to Assad's original analysis, and DC is effectively the airforce annex of the Baathist regime. Bombing Jihadist IS in Syria! Their ''former'' bed mates. Better late than never. I repeat: some people see in all these, a genial masterplan from Washington. Personally I consider this one hell of a confusion. A disoriented superpower. This is a foreign policy in shambles. And to prove it, while Al-Sisi of Egypt has detained over 50,000 of his fellow citizens in a political clamp down that saw him commit massacres in a Mosque; ripped the opposition apart and rigged an election, John Kerry publicly announced it was all a RETURN TO DEMOCRACY. An Egyptian politicologist summed it thus: you only take America seriously because of their power to kill. When it comes to thinking the middle east through, their minds are gone bimbo blonde.Wait with that, until Hilary becomes president. That will be your bimbo blond time. Hilary recently called Obama a softie on terrorists. Though she promised him a tight hug to get over it. watch out Michelle!

OF WAR, FERGUSON COPS, ISIS BEATLES, RACE, RELIGION AND DOMINATIONIt has been a week from hell in politics I suppose. We have seen some media hyped killings, and have been treated to a fierce competition for our loyalties; we have been told and motioned what our emotions should be, officially at least. There have been the ritual massacres of children in Gaza committed by the Israeli Defense Force; there has been Ferguson Missouri and the police executions of two black young men, Kajieme Powell and Michael Brown; and there has been of course the ISIS slaying of the American journalist James Foley. All have been public events, albeit presented for public consumption after an obvious refining by public relations experts. These tragedies then, become nothing but tragi-comical shows with news corporations as the podium. And Gosh! O politicians, don't they love a mike to talk toughest! In any case, it has been the kind of mix which, depending on which outlet you are consulting, seems to have underscored the notion some people come from Venus, others from Mars, even as we inhabit the same planet Earth here and now. What I have been following are not the factual stories themselves, but their configuration as social narratives for public consumption, both by the barbaric perpetrators and the enlightened and shocked others –-take your pick on who is who in every case by your merits. Social configuration, is an ideological act of persuasion, as in the concoction of feelings of belonging, identification with .(.). in socialisation. For me, these stories in themselves are basically the deaths of men in one way or another, in one situation or another, wherefore as a historian and a former soldier, horribly dying men is hardly stuff I am discovering this week. --My sorry ass gets paid to talk about mass deaths everyday in class, world war 1 world war 3, etc. And I am ready to tell you the Roman crucifixion of one Jesus Christus was not a pretty sight, not to mention the first whipping to near death. For those of you who never heard about the trials of our Lord at the hands of Rome, you should see a film called THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST. It is not a bad insight as to what we humans can accept to do for a living. For instance specialising in whip-ripping the skin off peoples backs with iron-tipped whips. Son of God or not. So okay, the slitting of Foley's throat was a medieval spectacle and barbaric, but what exactly is the correct adjective for the ''inquisition'' torture sessions Western intelligence operatives have been carrying out on Muslims in various ''safe houses'' around the globe? –-Enhanced and robust interrogation techniques? ## footnote## His brother is a pilot in the US airforce. Former Hostages report this ''particularised'' him in the hands of the jailors. The subsequet outrage of Americans at the beheading of their fellow countryman in Iraq has been universal. Correctly so. And their President Barrack Obama interpreted the national feel as is his prescribed task. But I know America is a bit a tale of two peoples, therefore American Universality in emotional trending can be a bit problematic for the mentally awake. I held my breath. I had already seen non Western media give Ferguson Missouri a different kind of look to the normal ''law and order re-enforcement challenge'' being churned out by mainstream pundits. I waited for a no-nonsense fellow to break it down. And it happened on a TV news channel which the Israeli deputy prime minister recently dubbed the voice of the terror organisation Hamas, and called for its global banning. May be this Avigdor Lieberman has something to hide. An American black female bishop being interviewed introduced race into the mixture. WHITE POLICE FORCE, brutally racist in mentality, discriminative and violently punitive toward young black men, criminal or not. '' Being a young black man is itself the crime! And there is institutional total neglect and conceptualised marginalisation of the black community by the white power structure!'' she thundered at one moment. Come on! The president himself is black, goaded the the ''terrorist '' correspondent! The female pastor's reaction –-God I thought the Church has no place for female Popes! just like heaven has no place for homosexuals! Evidently times and heavens have changed!-- was an UHuh and a body language which, for those who have perceived Whoopi Goldenberg adopt a pose that echoes centuries of black oppression, was an emotional repudiation of Barrack Obama and his policies toward the underprivileged of America. Look at how militarised the police are! There is a war on our people! You do not see police, white or black, shooting down WHITE BOYS like this in America. This is a black thing! Police executions in America. Now I needed a WHITE MALE with some understanding of his country to fill me in. The above could be too much of a traumatised radical black preacher with Martin Luther-like :Pdreams. Unreal. I found one from one of America's greatest institutes. He analysed the reactions of political Washington to Ferguson. And more from elsewhere no less sharp. The leading presidential candidate Hillary Clinton had not noticed Ferguson one week on. I suspect Hillary is not a white man. But we will argue that later. Okay then, at home in the USA black life is officially known to be of less value. Then it will really matter the COLOUR of the American BOY killed abroad. So let us take a look at the colour of James Foley. It could help us understand the UNIVERSALITY of Washington's outrage. The militant with a man thought to be the journalist Steven Sotloff. It can never be bad to read between the lines. It can never be bad, to read the small print. In the world of men and death, the devil is in the detail. Remember in colonial Nairobi, those sides of Karen, Lavington, Woodley and inner Westlands, any black with a rastafarian hairstyle seen in the vicinity would be shot on sight. A mau-mau no doubt. Only black faces there were uniformed cooks and other domestic personnel, like young altar boys taking their buttocks for ritual abuse. –-PROFILES! We will surely forgive David Kimaiyo for stopping and slapping Aden Duale and Ahmednassir, confusing them for Al-Shabaab :-*sleepers. PROFILES.Obviously then, a profile can have a lot of consequences. And John Foley was a WHITE AMERICAN in the captivity of ISLAMIC extremists in the MIDDLE EAST, under the watch of a BLACK POTUS. Surely this profile would not escape the director of video propaganda of the ISIS informational department. And therefore even the detail that it was a British Black Beetle who acted for cut-throat is a think. Even the fact that his accent is, according to British experts on phono, highly educated London. A non white Brit who was no social drop out. His rejection of his Britishness and preference for extremist Jihadism was a decision of the intellect, not, as I and some would have preferred, the poisonous doctrinal conquest of a malleable weakly mind. Turned. Drugged into submission. letu us pick out this gem quote What has America done in the last 50+ years to protect her people and her interests abroad? I have been checking the calculation/documentation models from various American universities freey available. --How many Vietnamese killed as Americans fought the good fight there? --How many Cambodians? --How many civilian deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan after the harming of Americans on September 11? and Bush and Blair going on the rampage or in Obama speak: They have rampaged across cities and villages killing innocent, unarmed civilians in cowardly acts of violence.--When it comes to proxy wars in the American backyard of Latin America, I admit my ignorance. But on the death statistics of yellow-Asiatic- gooks and Muslims in general, the United States of America in the last decades ranks very highly as a mass murderer of those peoples. I am not too sure my fellow Luo Barrack Obama has given these statistics a thought. They are freely available at the library of congress in Washington DC. Available too, are the statistics of collateral damage by his drone hits. They have a different name for these deaths in Pashtunlands [Pakistan and Afghanistan] where more than 700 children have been obliterated, without a show of remorse from yes, this is the way it was translated form me from Pashtun blogs, WHITE CHRISTIAN PEOPLE.Obama as white Christian people? I had to wonder whether the Paki Pashtun blogger was winking at Franz Fanon's famous black skins white masks!NB: I will take our Asia and subcontinent specialist to an interrogation date on the linguistic pointers of Paki Pashtun. Let us hope she will be more interested in this subject than in black cok, so would there be something to report, since cocktails are forbidden on this North Korean site. ## fnote#''You torture Arabs at Guantanamo and write 300 pages of small print law to call it national defense on enemy combatants unprotected by Geneva conventions. The Arab turns a table and slits a throat, and you go gagga with vile invectives –-give me a fwaking break!?'' said our Lebanese compatriot. Even at our own campus here, we have realised with shock that there is a colour divide in this subject. And as a class analyst, I felt inadequate before the force of nationalism. And nationalism to me is false consciousness. So I guess we gotta do the nationalist war first. Good script for a third world war. Even if subterfuging for a Christians vs Muslims war. The old Crusades all again.

RAMBO, MORE BLOOD PART XXX, COMING SOON TO A TV SET NEAR YOU!The Delta Force commando raid to rescue James Foley in Syria aborted. Would, Obama had an original Rambo. –- No Man! No War! No Law! No God! No nothin can stop him!I have always loved this series of films. Sylvester Stallone's Rambo. They form a complete picture to me of a particular type of tragedy. An old soldier's tragedy in imperial service. THE PICTURE. In the USA, supposedly at home, John Rambo has no place. Not even a disused shed to call his own. All his belongings fit in one lawn tennis bag. Rambo is a drifter, lonely and a loner. He is sexless –-no girlfriend, no wife; he has no family and no known blood relations. And there is the interesting suggestion he is of Indian extraction. This man is an outsider. He bonded with nothing, except with the instruments of killing. But there is something remarkable about him, and why his tale is told. 5 films long, and notoriously successful. An American story told by Hollywood must have a happy ending, and so all those sequels were searches for happy endings. Vietnam veterans insisted! (I have no idea how it ends for David Morrel's Rambo, the book that spawned the series) Rambo was the best of the best of a breed of elite killers from the marine core. Samuel Trautnamn, the action colonel who trained him and commanded his special forces unit, tells us that. Samuel is every inch steel, you will believe him. '' God didn't make Rambo. I did!'' No man has ever mastered the delicacies of killing like Rambo. Rambo is all weapon, the ultimate destroyer . He is unresponsive to any other social instinct than the basal raw animal killer and survival of the fittest. He is barely literate in speech, given to gutturals more like a mentally impaired psychopath, but he understands death like no other. He is a monster. His mind is hardly reflective, but there is an artistically endearing scene in which he gives it a shot, having a go at religion and that higher cosmic stuff. Well, it all falls flat. He is with a Vietnames ''Virgin'' in the jungle, his contact and guide, and, in what looks like I feel tender tender for you, she asks him seriously what he believes in, and opens herself up to the long background of his sad life. Rambo admits even God is a story beyond him. Coherence at length is not really his thing. He toys and caresses the killer blade which is his trademark, and at which he is so adept at with his left hand. ---[Of introspection he is no Bowe Bergdal] This knife is what he believes in, he says with a finality and a convinction so convincingly deep it shocks and mocks humanity at the same time. As he expresses this truth of his heart, the camera closes up on the blade, and the blade glints in the rays of the sun that percolate throught the lush leaves to the dense jungle floor; and as these intruding rays disperse the mist into strange formations, the camera offers us beautiful secretions of the rainbow and reveals Rambo as a creature of the jungle. A wild animal in his element here in the thickets. The cameraman cuts us in, to his binary world of death and no burrials. The virgin Co Phuong Bao tells John Rambo he is not an expendible army piece of meat. Yes, I did watch the film at a study level far above entertainment. Modern democracy needed this kind of animal fighting her corner? What, centuries on, had gone wrong with the renaissance, that gladiators were still all the spectacle in the arena of public amusement?Back in the United States, Rambo is a bum. Next meal or next shelter unknown. He is human liter. A trashy vagrant who shop-lifted so he could go to labour camp for structured meals in exhange for crushing rock at a punitive quarry. In an explosive climax in a later sequel, his retarded and traumatised infantilism –-arrested development- is revealed as he adopts the foetus position, cowering in a corner before his creator, the marine colonel Trautman. (I made him, the colonel proclaims!). Here, the washed-up killer-tool of empire unravels into a heap of weaping baby, sucking his thumbs, demanding his mummy, demanding childhood friends and marine playmates who all remained in the tunnels in Vietnam where they were called rats. –-' 'Where are they?'', he howls in self-pity. But his maker colonel Samuel is granite. Not a single emotion. This mission is over. It is essentially an order for the finished dog Rambo to kill himself. –--see the earlier ending rejected by tender-feely audiences. In deed it is a terrifying moment if you got perception. The best killer is an infant mind, a foetus whose mind never grew past birth. There is of course the theoritical option it did grow some, but military training deconstructed it, and destroyed its logical path of healthy development, before letting the ravages and traumas of war finish it off completely. This mind-ruining can of course also be achieved upon the highly educated, as in power corrupts. Power deforms minds to such extents that, when they unravel after the steroid charges, they are no better than a heap of Rambo crying for his mama before his trainer. For politicians, their Colonel Samuel will likely be the spindoctor who made them. No, I am not calling Jimmy Carter a drifter! No, I am not saying Dubya is now an unravelled heap of thumb-sucking baby; and I am definitely not saying Obama is now having his Rambo runs but will later unravel like the crook Nixon. God forbid it! Nor am I saying Hilary Clinton who just attacked Obama for being soft on terror is a John Rambo in training under a colonel Samuel! I am just saying I love Hollywood. It entertains me in strange ways. – -No man, no war, no law, no nothing can stop him! Where do such creatures go at long last? Rambo found salvation in a Budhist monastery deep in Burma -Magyamar! Hurraahh! A happy ending we have. Meditation and introspection and mental peace at last!. As we gear toward an escalation of the war and the dispatch of more Rambos to the middle eastern theater of operations, let us occasionaly pause to take stock on the toll both ways. Obviously there is some human thing in us which hates non happy :'(endings. This promise of a relentless war by a Chrisitan empire upon an emerging Islamic Caliphate is not gonna be a tale of good endings for lots of folk, stuff and things. Hmmm

IRAQI KURDISH NATIONALISM AND WESTERN OIL POLITICS OF THE MIDDLE EASTFirst I was minded to say: there is really nothing Obama can do about it. Then I remembered there is always a choice. But, despite this inkling of a remembrance, I go with the former. There is nothing the POTUS can do about it. He is the head of an empire. That is like riding a monster, you get ridden. When he was a fresh president and the yes-we-can banner of David Axelrod and David Plouche still had the power of indeterminate spin, would an element of the benefit of doubt be injected into my thought patterns. But now the emperor is naked, and every of his muscular jerks can be read and his motives equally. If George Bush and his administration to access the vast energy resources of the area lied about the WMD and Iraqi-Saddam support for Ossama Al-Qaeda in an ill effort to persuade these were now a clear and present danger to the vitals of the United States, President Barrack Obama is in the same script in his current military politics of North Iraq. Lying. It is only that things do not go according to plan. There was no Al-Qaeda in Iraq under Saddam Hussein. Now, something else is virtually a government, let us call her The Caliphate. OILBarrack is in it for oil. The oil in Iraqi Kurdistan. The IK area is under the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG). The current corrupt oligarchy of the Barzhanis and Talabhanis running affairs in this banana, oil-smuggling republic headquarted at Arbil, has a memorandum of understanding with Erdogan's-AK-run Turkey not to push for Independence, nor to support the PKK –-that is the Kurdish Workers Party, which over the years were running a guerrilla campaign in Turkey for an own Kurdish homeland. But oil politics and money has changed the manifestation forms of Kurdish nationalism. As the secularists and their nationalist organisations have retired into these lucrative oil deals, and, some say wisely, suspended the 500+ year dream of an Independent Kurdistan despite popular support, Islamic parties have come to the fore –-gone to the dark is more like it-- to push the agenda for more and more decisive moves toward independence and ''unification''. Historical Kurdistan is dispersed over current Iraq, Iran, Turkey and Syria. Secularists say they are being realistic their minimalist agenda. There is no hope in hell of seceding from Turkey and Iran without a full scale war Kurds can not win. Sykes-Picot is final in this aspect. Therefore the strain of Kurdish nationalism that wants the reconstitution of historical Kurdistan is reactionary, dangerous and extremist, and is being suppressed, ruthlessly. –--It is Islamic and terrorist, says the ruling PUK/KDP oligarchal consortium swimming in oil funds. (Iraqi Kurdistan is listed high in corruption just like Kenya!) In 2005 when elections were held on the question secession from Iraq, just like in South Sudan later, the Kurdish electorate voted their hearts. But what else do you know when the last free and fair elections were held? The Islamists gathered a threatening 20%, and the secularists saw the writing on the wall. Egyptian General Abdel Fatah al-Sisi is not the first to make sure in subsequent elections Islamists get less than 2% of the vote. The KDP and PUK –-the Talabhani and Barzhani clans-- united to fully disarm the Islamic movement of Kurdistan. news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/not_in_website/syndication/monitoring/media_reports/2588623.stm Well, Oily Iraqi Kurdistan is secular to all practical purposes now. A bit like current Egypt. And that is the way it suits New Rome, emperor Obama, and the empire's assets in the Kurdish Autonomous region of nothern Iraq. These assets are huge. that was the year of our lord 2013. The graph has since steeped, operations intensified. Iraqi Kurdistan is no place to be an Islamic militant today, yammering about 500 year old dreams of statehood. Yet life is not that simple. This article from Forbes reveals major fault lines: Consensus among Kurds for independence yes but ... Let there be Kurdistan and there was Kurdistan? –--aaah, Iraqi Kurdistan not Historical Kurdistan! And the MOU between Turkey, Iran and the petroleum moguls –---of Patriotic Union (PUK) and Kurdish democratic Union (KDP)---- who run the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG)? Let Washington decide? a friend in deed, in need. The GREAT OIL ROBBERY No, I am not talking about this one sawa. George Bush brought democracy to Iraq okay, but the ''Crusader Prefect'' Paul Bremer and his administration of the Chalabi charlatans looted Iraqi cash reserves to the bone, and negotiated an amnesty for themselves in advance. It would a good joke if it were not true. But that is not the theft of Iraqi reserves I am talking about in relation to Kurdistan. AS ISIS BESIEGED MOSUL AND THE AL-MALIKI IRAQI ARMY FLED, the Iraqi Kurdish Peshmerga seized Kirkuk, and the Kirkuk SuperGiant. Let us go back and re-read FORBES: Did we just witness one of the greatest thefts in history? The KRG annexed the Kirkuk oil fields which is worth 12% of total iraqi reserves. Auctioning these to American companies already headquarted in Erbil in exchange for American military defense –-as is being rumoured in energy circles, could be the new game for Kurdistan! Can total American support in exchange for oil, be used to neutralise Turkish's insecurity and soothe Iranian nerves, traumas which dictates a no independent Kurdish nation ? The Kurds are just about less than 50% of Kirkuk. The rest of the population is as diverse as Iraq itself. Can the Kurdish autonomous region swallow and digest this monster without intestinal malfunction? One thing for sure is their Peshmerga as now constituted can not hold that whole territory. They need the empire's airforce, and other goodies on the ground. In any case there are now too many vested Oil interests in Iraqi Kurdistan, such that the empire has to develop a comprehensive program to protect those assets. That is what I mean by Obama really has no choice. He has to abet the plunder of Iraqi resources; he has to protect pillage, and sell it as preventing genocide and perhaps like George Bush, bringing democracy and stability to the region. NB: Some European countries who cut deals with Baghdad over the now lost Kirkuk oil fields have to rethink their strategy! But the Kurds need a Solomon now.

www.thirdworldtraveler.com/American_Empire/Nixon_Cambodia_LFE.html President barrack Obama of the united states stated yesterday 10-09-14, that he would not hesitate to pursue people who harm americans wherever they are. Because IS has already executed two Americans, it means Obama will bomb them in Syria. --No boots on the ground! Syria though, the shrunken official Syria under Bashir Assad that is, declares if that is done without her say so and coordination, then it will be an act of aggression. Obama will of course ignore him like Kissinger and Nixon ignored the governments of Laos and Cambodia in their carpet bombardment of the two countries above.Well, there were days when for a region in turmoil like the middle east, powers had a route map for peace, a plan, aimed at solutions to the causes of the conflict. But times have changed. But this is the era of KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL KILL!That is Obama's only solution for the middle east. He is like a copycat of the mad Abubakr Shekau of Boko Haram! Kill! Kill! Kill! The emir grinned at the camera, raising serious questions about his sanity! There is a general state of political bankruptcy shaping events. It is kill time. (what is new in human history really? Aah, weapon systems went up!) Obama will be relentless and sustained. –-The exact words of President Nixon long ago! here is the mission as outlined by the current commander in chief of god's country. www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/09/10/obama-iraq-syria-islamic-state-speech-prime-time/15380239/

The old Crusades all again. Jakaswanga, when it comes to the number of people (both civilian and military) that Uncle Sam has consigned to early graves since WWII, the numbers are so staggeringly high they usually are little better than educated guesses. This is because one may either add up those who die due to direct military action, or include collateral deaths (like the 500,000 Iraqi dead children who Madeleine Albright shrugged off as a necessary consequence for a bad choice in having Saddam as their leader). Some have put it as high as 80 million. Others are more conservative. I find this site that puts the figure at anything from 10 to 15 million "credible" as they at least have a scholarly "works cited" section: www.countercurrents.org/lucas240407.htmWith the figure of 15,000,000 dead somewhere on the planet that translates to the equivalent of 5,000 9/11's that Uncle Sam has dished out, mainly to "people of color" since 1945. When you keep in mind the great majority are civilians, then you'd appreciate how skewed the killing imbalance is in favor of the US even with their 3,000 civilian dead in NYC. This morning there was some breaking news of a Brit (a Scott) beheaded by IS, with another Englishman paraded as next in line. As long as the oil that flows under the sands of Arab lands is held dearer than the blood that flows in the human body, I wouldn't expect the bloodletting, by either side, to stop...

ON TO YOUR MARKS, GET SET GO! BOMB RUNS OVER ARABIAListening to John Kerry yesterday and today, it has become increasingly clear to me. This was John Kerry at the United Nations, but yesterday at the hearings before the American congress, lecturing on the ills of something he calls ISIL. Listening to President Obama a few days earlier, it has become increasingly clear to me. This was Obama pontificating his blood thirst: degrade and ultimately destroy some evil thing he called ISIL. Listening to Hollande and Fabius of France the last two days, uncharacteristically I could not help a facial twitch of contempt creaking my expression. These men have graduated into theorists of Islamic theology, and they have solved some of the most trenchant doctrinal issues of that religion. Yeah, stuff that kept men like the cleric Khomeini recluse all their lives, burning brain-cells seeking a way out, devising historical short-cuts to a modernism that avoids neo-colonialism, have turned out to be no- brainers for the men clueless to sort out their own nation, France. This is a true Hosana moment I say. But here we are in Paris and Washington DC! where, apparently, spindoctor insights have led the white knights of crusader countries into spectacular conclusions like ISIS has nothing to do with Islam! In fact, so much so that the ''I'' in the abbreviation ''IS'' MUST NOW BE DELETED! Terror state it becomes. I will be delightfully reminded as to why KUNTA KINTE could no longer be referred to with his own tribal names, and had to answer to TOBBY! The coalition of slaveArab-breakers is coalescing behind the turn-coat Niger wielding the greatest flesh-tearing whip! On the countdown. ''What is your name Boy!? –-Evil Devil Arab! It would take another 2 centuries before James Brown went like: Say it Loud -I am black and Proud. So you can guess plenty Muslim blood is gonna flow, plenty Arab bodies gonna get mangled in bomb sorties from crusader capitals, so long them sects maintain these forms of piety in the fellowship of Allah, chanting His Name be Holier than American kill power. NB: I have heard tell Abubakr Al-Baghdadi is actually a doctorate in philosophy, majoring on some aspect of the Sunni-Shiite split in Islam; and that in the doctoral theses of Obama and John Kerry, Islamism in the remotest was not any part of the foonotes, leave alone the quotes. As for Hollande and Fabius, the President and foreign ministers of France respectively, I really have not bothered to inquire, but I highly suspect given the inadequacy they are displaying at solving the economic woes of France, it is possible they majored in Arabism, and not the Quantitative Easing they were coerced into by the FED's Ben Bernanke, to naught. So when Fabius lectures ISIS is just a bunch of cut-throats, I give him the benefit of doubt, like I gave Donald Rumsfeld when he quipped: ''France? France has politicians you only listen to when you want to go back to the past!'' Taking the cue from old Don, historians like me listen a lot to French politicians you bet! And on that note, a by the way, you may not have heard, but Nicolas Sarkozy is running again (rofl)for President of France. If you have forgotten who Nicolas is, he is the husband of Carla Bruni. If you do not know who Carla is, you are surely beyond hopeless. To top that up, Dominic Strauss-Khan, better known as DSK, too is growing strong influence in the Socialist Party, intent on making a run too you wonder? Well, You know their past where they are aiming to take France back of course! One a rapist, the other a thief only escaping conviction because of mandatory immunity to an ex head of state there! And to top it all up, may be Turbo Sarko will bring Christin IMF Lagarde back to run finance or economy. She too being a felon, or fugitive from justice in France. Christin is currently busy dishing out IMF cash to the corrupt oligarchs of Ukraine. May be the Oligarchs are conduiting it back to France which can do with any investment she can chance. Her economic straits being that dire. It is therefore with these in mind that I pondered the change of name of the group herself, from ISIS, to a simply IS. Islamic State. I am assuming people like Al-Baghdadi, apart from being merely cut-throats as the French bureaucrat Fabius would have it, also have minds that think their history through and produce symbols of historical relevance, echo and meaning as in CONTENT to their audience and beyond. –One would be forgiven the surprise, that it is another Frenchman, say philosophic playboy Jean-Paul Sartre, or the shrink Franz Fanon, or Althusser (of the essay Ideological State Apparatuses), who spent lifetimes studying the mystique of ideology. So when one hears Fabius and Hollande crooning their kind of theses, one kind of knows between the lines one is dealing with the cloacal end of French enlightenment. But well, going anal has its pleasures as the popularity of that methodology would attest, so we keep abreast with Hollande and Fabius. ISIS has no air-defence systems, so French-Killer jets can join the killing fray, valorously. Bombing up their popularity ratings which are next to nil in France. rival politicians ''carving out positions'' for the 2017 elections, is why France is running bombs in Iraq. So what do I think? I think Al-Baghdadi like most Arabs is tired of the status quo of Arab dishonour sustained by artificial states and parochial feudal lords subordinate to the usual suspects. And thus the simplicity of the epithet: Islamic State. Note: The Islamic state is also, in content, an expression of the ideal. Such that the Islamic state is both a geographical reality, and, simultaneously, an expression of longing, the dream for an ideal. Cut throat huh!? But the world gets even more dangerous when you know how the chips fall. Here is an insight article from TheNation, www.thenation.com/article/181601/whos-paying-pro-war-pundits Good for the few American companies in the defense industry making billions out of war, and good for the pundits they hire to beat the war drums to the world. But for the ordinary Americans who have to do the real lifting on the wages of war, I doubt this is their interest –-more war! More death! More hate! More rage. But america is owned by the military industrial complex, and they call the shots. POTUS? Ach, merely issues the order, to shoot, to kill. Kill Kill Kill Kill Kill Kill! Like the maniac Shakau puts it simply in his Boko Haram video. Hilary Clinton is already impatiently limbering on the sidelines, earger to inherit the killing button off Obama's hands. No shortage of executioners. A rogue Brit cast as Jihadi John, commander in chief Obama cast as the defender of civilisation, Abubakar al-Baghdadi cast as the commander of the faithful, all just executioners. Brothers in a cult of blood. Locked in the fellowship of death. Oh Fates! Daughters of Zeus With much mischief you measure Our portions of life to fill with blood. Our boundless misery is your eternal pleasure. They say the chief mission of the USA is the geopolitical need to contain Russia and push her back into a pliant power, the kind of wretch she was when the drunk Boris Yeltsin was leading her. An alliance between Russia and China, with a few more big nations down the line finding the room to slip out of neo-colonial control, changes the world order in a way which is intolerable to the nation of God, the only one anointed to guide the world. Going down fighting then it must be for the hegemon. The mindset of domination does not surrender unless there is a knife to its throat. And no one is holding a knife to America's throat yet. She can easily afford her illusions. A scorching star expending herself in a path of destruction she runs a gauntlet of death. Destroying Libya, Destroying Iraq, destroying Syria, planning to destroy Iran and Russia. Nothing more to say over Obama. His presidency is now set. We should now concentrate on how Hilary is likely to deal with the mess she will inherit. More blood thirst, or a better act? Same old iron fist? Or miracles happen?

THE COALITION OF BOMB-RUNNERS VERSUS THE RECALCITRANTSOh yeah, after a near miss with death over the Scottish referendum, the dazed United Kingdom is climbing back into the middle eastern ring, where Tony Blair and George Dubya had their decade of slaughter and counting. The Queen Elizabeth ''purred'' according to the old Etonian and premier David Cameron, when she heard the great news of the No from up North. I will indulge myself to decode what Eton-Oxford means by 'purr'. The queen went gaga, chocking in breath as if drowning in a flooding, exploding orgasm. And in that High, Her Majesty's airforce is going Arab-blood spilling once more. Parliament gave Cameron the greens by a bash. But out there, there are other deals. The cat is now out of the bag on one or two: What horses were traded and the wheeling it took for Saudi Arabia to join the motley five, that is the infamous gulf crew doing bomb runs over Syria, allegedly on IS positions –-to degrade and ultimately destroy completely that satanic sect. Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE. All towing the usual line under their commander in chief from DC Washington. Their price is Bashir's head. The apostate Alawite regime, the heretical Shiite appendage of the evil Iran, must go. So Obama's actions over Syria are just the preamble to overthrowing Bashir Al Assad, to appease the nerves of the scared Sunni royalties having premonitions of their expiry dates, forecasted by the now temporarily frozen Arab spring. But things do not always work out as planned. Not in the least because signatories to an MOU can renege, or, to put it diplomatically, sensibly change their minds to accommodate newly emerged realities on the ground. I think of it this way. WHY DOES THE DONKEY CRY HEE-HOOW? The donkey and the Zebra were once coloured the same. They reached an agreement that the other would use the body of the other as a billboard, or meatboard, to showcase the others painting talents. They were both painters of noteworthy decorative skill. Off as first, shot the donkey. And you can look at a zebra today and agree the donkey is no mean handler of the brush and polish. However, when it was the zebra's turn to repose in kind, the pheromones of a mate imbued him with other priorities, and he could not bring up enough concentration nor the time to indulge the donkey in kind. A cross-like brush-line from back of the neck to the tail, and across the shoulders, then a monocolour body pimp-up, and that was it. Off he went, betraying the spirit of the MOU, leaving the donkey [ ODM] lamenting his [ PNU] treachery to this day: Magwar owuonda, akiewe, akiewe, akiewe, ndi, ndi To eeen, owuonda, owuonda, owuonda, ndi, ndi. Ndi.
–--Heeee, Hoo, hee hoo, Hee hoo, hee, hoo! On the zebra I painted my heart out, out out! But he painted only his Sh!t, on me, on me! On me!How can the Saudis be sure Obama will keep his promise to kill the Assad regime? Who knows, Hilary Clinton may soon be president and Assad still around, and the geopolitical interests of uncle Sam so changed, that it is the House of Saud itself that becomes the liability!? –-I mean about 30 pages classified from the 9/11 Twin Towers day of collapse, suggests the real axis of evil may not include Iran after all! As legal suits on this episode size up and compensation arguments begin to raise tones and temperatures in courts across the USA, Wahabism may appear to the American public as a force they better not call a friend, regardless of the oil-flow and military bases perched on that sandy planet. Super powers can be fickle! Only yesterday Obama was pledged to bomb Assad on behalf of the justice and the rebels. Today he is bombing the rebels on behalf of another greater priority. Someone will get bombed yes, it is a game of power, but who? The House of Saud, or the House of Assad? Who knows what the future holds? And so I remember the deal the donkey struck with the zebra, and how the daily noisy hee-hoo of the donkey, is interpreted in African folklore. The ideo currently ruling the Pentagon and the State Department, that Iran can be ignored in a settlement arrangement around the middle east, is already proving a travesty in Iraq. Iranians from the revolutionary guards are fighting with the Kurds against ISIS, and elsewhere in the Iraqi army, which is effectively a Shiite militia now, Iranians are frontline boots on the ground. So America bombs from the air, Iranians fight on the ground. America and Iran on the same side. In Syria, you could say Obama and Nasrallah are on the same side, fighting for the Assad in the meanwhile against IS. And who is Nasrallah!? Yeah, if you believe John Kerry and Bibi Netanyahu, he is the demon-head of Hezbollah in Lebanon, only a fraction less evil than IS. America has very smart people. But when smart people get this confused, it is wise and prudent to spread ones bets. The titanic could be hitting an iceberg below decks. Turkey apparently could not be placated. They rumouredly demanded assurances that the USA will always oppose a Kurdish state. Watching the oil-map of a fragmenting Iraq, with the vast Kirkuk fields possibly staying within Iraqi Kurdistan as a client state ala Kuwait, which American would think of such a guarantee? And so a sulking Turkey is weighing out her nasty options. And friends will be friends in deed. but in the murky world where friends demand friends deliver heads of their enemies for deals to go through, consider the following --see independent link below-- murders from old which have been cause for some interesting speculations. The one omitted in the link, was the theory that the hits were a favour to Turkey by an unnamed western intelligence organisation'; or a present creating a debt which could be collected later. (I will be minded later to say something as a footnote, about the betrayal of Abdullah Ocalan in Nairobi in 1999 or thereabouts. Ocalan was the founder of the PKK, the pan Kurdish workers party, listed as a terrorist organisation in the West. These are the guys doing the real Pershmerga combat on the ground in both Iraq and Syria. They Ocalan toughies are boots on the ground who, opening up a safe corridor, saved the Yazidis and Christians of Iraq from the masticating jaws of IS, though you wouldn't know it if you viewed CNN. Germany is now sending tonnes of ammo to Iraqi Kurdistan for the Iraqi pershmergas. But there no fools in this game. Turkey knows where those weapons will end up. Opposite the Turkish army.) Watch out for more dark stories of ''negotiated favours'' like this one of long ago. www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/kurdish-activists-killed-in-paris-were-shot-in-head-as-mystery-of-executions-grows-8448551.html FOOTNOTE: The betrayal of Abdullah Ocalan the Kurd in Nairobi Kenya. THE PRICE OF UPSETTING THE WORLD DOLLAR ORDER
By punditry such as we can call international consensus, and not just from the usual suspects, ISIS mutating into IS, the Islamic State, has morphed into the greatest threat to World Peace ever since Adolf Hitler or may be the annexation of Kuwait –-aka the 5th province of Iraq-- by the late Saddam Hussein al-Tikriti. No, Ossama's Al-Qaida was not that much in the big league of threats, real or imagined.
IS and its dazzling march has forced a coagulation of the strangest of bedfellows, and ongoing is a a fiery romance even if some have their eyes closed, horrified at who they are kissing. Israel and Iran, Hezbollah and The USA and her NATO satellites, the Saudis and the Turks, the Qataris and the Jordanians, all are one side dispensing death to the followers of Abubakar al-Baghdadi.
Such a desperate alliance of firepower arraigned against a singular force calls for a simple and reasonable explanation. So let us see if we can do away with the customary hysteria of fellas like John Kerry and Bibi Netanyahu.
I have a simple, hard-nosed one for you.
–--The terror of an idea whose time has arrived.
First, do consider the following; Egalite! Fraternite! Solidarite! are these days bullsh!t words. The world moved on I suppose. But the numbers of men who, historically, fought to death under this banner, is what makes modern history what it is. The birth of the republic with its fancy ideas of all citizens are equal before the law. It works out different in reality, but all the same the intention is there edified in law. No constitution can dare state otherwise.
The Roman slaves and escaped gladiators fighting under Spartacus, doomed to death under overwhelming Roman armour, were precursors to a cause whose thunder would prove inextinguishable as it reverberated throughout history. FREEDOM. Freedom or Death. (Fidel Castro of Cuba would later famously pirate this battle-cry to SOCIALISMO O MUERTE!)
At the core of IS, I think, must be a simple straightforward organising idea. Merging into an already existent yearn, articulate or not. The Arab states as they exist now, are a colonial arrangement for the continued domination of Arabs. –-Could be true, could be false, but it depends on what millions of Arab young men think and feel. Is there a load of shame in their hearts, feelings of humiliation galore, as they take cognisance of their daily reality, or do they experience life as a stroll in paradise?
A caliphate. A caliphate in essence, is a larger political union like the EU, the United States, or the republic of India! One passport and the young Arab is free to travel from Egypt to Afghanistan without every 50 km, a border check! –-Compare Seattle to Miami for an American, Stockholm to Barcelona for a West European, no irritating cheap policemen squinting at your papers every few kilometres, discerning a missing dot therein to extort a cheap bribe.
The large quantities of oil in Kuwait or Saudi Arabia etc, is not the private property of totalitarian royalty, sustained as vassal oil prefects by distant super powers greedy for energy.
Internationalism: this is the era of transnational capital. Mobile, global flash movements of goods, services, commodities, and troops. In fact, foreign troops are stationed –-in what others call occupation-- in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Iraq. So why not a free flow of believers from whichever diaspora to swell the opposing ranks of the caliphate Calvary? The caliphate is therefore as internationalist as the opponents.
International constellation, or order: i think it is fair to say all the current big powers have a stake in the current order of things –-that is the current status of the dollar as a world reserve currency. Even as Kenyans, our industrialisation programs have loans denoted in the dollar or its younger sister the euro, and the dollar needs lots of colonial arrangements to stay as they are. That is the world order. Even Putin of Russia, Mordi of India, Dilma of Brazil, and Xi Jinpin of China are, for all talk of the BRICS and emerging multi-polarity, not so hot to quit the dollar. –-China is the leading hoarder of dollars to boot! And just as the Chinese leaders fear chaos –-like Xinjiang/Uighur land secession, they recognise the dollarised USA needs to keep a lid on the boiling sands of the middle east. The consensus to crush IS is therefore multipolar and global. If Picot-Sykes is reversed, how about Africa's made in Berlins --aaah? A Pandoras box powers would rather leave unopened.
Abubakar you are on your own.
Nevertheless, when these simple ideas are riveted to a universal ideology with an authentic emotional resonance within a people, they forge into something many can die for, in a certain defined meaning of idealism –-like the concept of matyrdom. The universal ideology in the IS case is a brand of Sunni Islam. And then, going is your ''Spartacus rebellion'' against the Roman STATUS QUO.
Abubakar al-Baghdadi breaks with the status quo. For good or for worse he challenges a world order policed by a distilled kill-power the ferocity of New Rome. He challenges billion dollar oil deals, power arrangements of clientilism, elite bonding ... He threatens the very foundations of current global financial system. He becomes the current greatest historical outlaw. He is a super terrorist brain. –-I mean that is about what the Roman Press –-known as Tribune-- howled at Spartacus.
This middle east quagmire is gonna get messy.

FOOTNOTE: The betrayal of Abdullah Ocalan the Kurd in Nairobi Kenya. Kurdish nationalism, Abdullah Ocalan: BETRAYAL IN NAIROBI ,--1999 february. My introduction to the Kenyan connection in the Abdullah Ocalan biography was a very rude one in London. I and a few bushmen on a European study retreat from the bushwars of central Africa, had been enticed to take a train ride from up the Highlands of Scotch, and visit London, where an annual extravaganza famous as the Nottinghill Carnival was revving up. Brainwashed with tales of possible reckless erotic adventures, we headed South with testosteron doped fantasies. It was in one of the off-streets that we chanced upon some mediterranean types mobbing a man dressed in Kenyan colours, and the brutality of their assault kindled some racial solidarity in my group. A stand-off ensued. The Arabs did not apologise, but explained themselves defiantly. In that period I did not know Kurds are not Arabs. 'Kenyans are dogs.' The Arab/Kurd spat. I was not officially a Kenyan then, so more intrigued than insulted, I asked him in good English to substantiate. 'O boy, be my guest!' he squinted cynically. The man wove a tail as my eyes increasingly popped out. Kurdish nationalism had done its research, and concluded who exactly in the Kenyan police and security system had been bribed by who to snitch and snatch Abdulah Ocalan from the Greek embassy in Nairobi and hand him over to intermediaries who would then hand him over to the operatives of the Turkish secret service.NB: Kanyotu is dead, but his successor Gichangi is alive. He definitely read the file, he knows. I heard the grievance from Kurdish nationalism thus: Kenyans were dogs, they had betrayed the leader of the most important pan-Kurdish national movement. 500 years the Kurds have beed dreaming of their own state. This was the detail which pushed me off my afro- and euro-centrism, and trained my focus on the middle east of then. Let us get a hint of the story from a Greek intelligence officer who had a ringside seat in the betrayal of Abdulah Ocalan. Ocalan was persona non grata everywhere. Too hot to handle, or, as the Luo say, mach kimi. One does not fold his palms over glowing coal emmer. The tale of European cowardice under American pressure is appaling. These days I hear Obama is the Kurd's best friend! Bombing daily on their behalf! (With his Kenyan blood, If I were a Kurd, I would wonder if he were negotiating with the Turks behind my back for the right price!)www.ekurd.net/mismas/articles/misc2013/5/turkey4678.htm Godana was the foreign affairs minister then. And further Some will remember that in the aftermath of this Kenyan duplicity, Kenyan embassies across Europe and other parts of the world were security cordoned, and Kenyan diplomatic personnel put under protective curfew to prevent –-or minimise the possibility of-- revenge hits for the betrayal of Ocalan in Nairobi. Later in my life as a Kenyan, I passed through Lebanon on a UN trip. At an airport bank I went to transfer some money to Nairobi. The cashier squinted at me. ''I serve you but with a heavy heart. I have something in my heart against Kenyans.'' I instinctively knew he was Kurdish. I smiled and slowly let my face freeze in the manner of men having their last gasps of life. Then I clasped my hands in the manner of the Buddhist greeting of monks, and spoke my piece. '' May it please the holiness of your people, that your heavy heart finds the patience to hear me out. The Kenyan security forces have committed untold treacheries on the Kenyan people themselves, let alone the Kurds. Find time to ponder the names Tom Mboya and JM Kariuki for starters. Then you will learn to stop holding rage against all Kenyans in general. Kenyan nationalism has been as much, if not more, a victim of the Judas complex of her elite, as much as Kurdish nationalism obviously has been. Apologies on behalf of my country, but treachery is a universal trait not the monopoly of Kenyans!''His heart found warmth in my disclaimer and he invited me for a drink –-a glass of water of course, since alcohol, he professed, was not to his religious sensibilities. Just like I supported the recent Scottish referendum, and definitely the planned Catalan referendum –-and the looming referendum in Basqueland Spain, all illegal by Spanish law, I do of course support a Kurdish referendum on the question of the Kurdish state. The true unravelling of the Picot-Sykes Frankenstein maps of political debauchery, ends with the international recognition of a newly declared Kurdish state. Yesterday Kenya, by way of her sovereign Uhuru Kenyatta, performed one on the ICC in a daring stunt. Setting a precedent for standards on questions of upholding national pride. Lets see if there are more tricks left in the bag in Nairobi, to erase the blotch and stain of the betrayal of Abdullah Ocalan, and Kurdish nationalism, that 1999 day in Nairobi. ''''Heshima ya wanakenya'' I heard Uhuru kenyatta speech passionately after his arrival back from the Hague, scathing the foreign koti bandia which sought to humiliate the independence of kenya which was fought for with blood. ''Heshima'' I translate as ''honour''. The there is a moral debt out there, Ouru Omera. You had not thought of this one, sir. –--The Kenyan betrayal of Abdullah Ocalan was no deed of honour! How do we correct, apologise? This is an official reminder then, O my sovereign. february 16 1999

Pivots are in vogue these days. I have been undergoing mine too. Like Mwai Kibaki once turning east, I hardly bother with the details of American politics anymore. I once used to pay attention to the business in Congress, reasoning empire politics were the business of everybody. No longer. Washington looks a childish town to me now. Though a badly upbrought rascal waving a loaded gun wildly. All one has to watch is where this bad boy plots to do his massive killings next. The only american contribution left, is to flaunt military prowess at raining death upon weaker peoples. And that does not need giving a hearing to Washingtonian intrigues. They have only one option left: kill.
The middle east ----with infamies like the IS of Abubakar al-Baghdadi, the Israeli Palestinian conflict, Iran's rising countenance, Yemen's hell-hole, Lebanon's unfinished business and the wily Nasrallah of Hezbollah, the Kurdish question, and the other historical spikes that puncture the rolling tires of super powers boasting by----- I find more compelling to attend, than the intrigues in Washington underway to effect a Hilary Clinton presidency.
NB: We have seen Victoria Nuland fwaqing the EU in the Ukraine, seen, with Marie Harf of the SD hot on her heels, Jeniffer Psaki soil herself repeatedly playing the best paid dumbest blond in public limelight; we have seen Samantha Powers lying more than General Colin Powell ever did at they UN, seen Rice and the rest of the young Turks poised to spearhead the US foreign policy Juggernaut, profess their alienation from current reality; and I know the colour of the beast: the looming Hillary presidency, or better, supremacy -- when the likes of Nuland replaces the sods of Kerry. A super power in retreat. In its wake, a scorch earth policy. the Hamburger hill Kobane at the Syrian Turkey border, is a hint. Like great whites swarming at a frenzied swimmer, jaws wide, US bombers hawk around an urban carcass, cannibalising. Disassembling without a plan to re-assemble.

The Americans would claim that's just one side of the story! The CIA, for one, did issue its own account. Nothing to do with them, they said. A case study worth looking at, they said. Bad intelligence tradecraft and a rogue agent. (The latter being your Ringside Hero, who disobeyed an order to take Ocalan, by force and wrapped in a bed-sheet if necessary and dump him near a hotel.) Wasn't them, they say, and the US involvement was just one small phone call. And that's the only involvement anyone can prove. That's what they say. " A busy Thursday, the 4th, began with a early call from an officer of the US embassy in Nairobi seeking to arrange a meeting with the ambassador on Friday. Soon after, Costoulas was summoned to the Kenyan Foreign Ministry ." As far as the CIA can tell, there were all sorts of USA (and other) spook/investigate types in Nairobi, to look into the Al Qaeda bombings, and who knows why might have known what and said what to whom. But the sloppy intelligence work! That's enough to make a grown man cry! Whence their interest in the "fiasco". That's what they say.
Not so, according to the CIA account, which states that the Ambassador did get in touch with the relevant ministry in Greece and asked how to deal with the Kenyans. He received instructions:
" On Friday, the 5th, the Kenyan government intensified its queries about the passengers of the Falcon. A nervous Costoulas called back to Athens for instructions, and Papaioanou told him to “act like a shepherd and whistle indifferently” to the questions of the Kenyan authorities.
And when later it became clear that some hard men would be required to crack heads, there was sufficient communication for the Ambassador to be informed:
" Foreign Ministry, who informed him that a “theatrical group, a football team” would be arriving the next day, which if necessary “will play ball .”
I think you can see the CIA point: if the PKK etc. want their revenge, better go after the Kenyans and the Greeks. The Americans are innocent. As far as the records show, their involvement was limited to one small phone call at the start of the "fiasco". That's what they say.
For the "Fiasco In Nairobi":
www.cia.gov/library/center-for-the-study-of-intelligence/csi-publications/csi-studies/studies/vol53no1/fiasco-in-nairobi.html
On other hand, if I recall correctly, The Guardian or one of those papers carried a report to the effect that the Greeks and the Americans agreed that rather than embarrass a European ally into handing the fellow over to the Turks, it would be far better to arrange things with a "compliant" African country to do the job.

SIGNS OF THE TIMES: KURDISTAN.
The Kurdish Autonomous Region in Northern Iraq, has been forced to make a daring move. Yes, forced by popular pan-Kurdish nationalist sentiment boiling over the IS's siege of Kobane in Syria Kurdistan, the KRG are sending a battalion of the now much ridiculed peshmerga. The dad's army that fled as the IS advanced on the Mosul dam.
The PKK of Abdullah Ocalan and its Syrian branch, have risen in stature to a cult heroism amongst their people, having long saved the bulk of the Yazidis before the Rambos arrived in full camera glare to bedazzle their home base with their good deeds abroad in Barbarian lands. There is a dynamism and jostling for position within pan Kurdish nationalism, to maximise on the historical window now opened a crack by the chaos in the middle east.
So the Kurdish --Regional Government-- Parliament met in Erbil and authorised Kurdish forces of Iraq to March across borders, to intervene in a neighbouring country, on behalf of Kurdish people there. These are facing extermination by a deadly foe. ---To prevent genocide is thus the apparent holy mission!
Careful here now. Aha, now you catch!
What did we yell when Russian forces went on a humanitarian intervention in the Ukraine, following a coup in Kiev that outlawed any form of Russian ethnic expression in Ukraine? And what did we yell when the Duma, the Russian Legico, sanctioned it all and even voted for the 'acceptance' of the Crimea back into Mother Russia's bossom?
I think the chaos in the Ukraine is a hint that the post world II settlement in Europe is rotten obsolete. The Soviet collapse and German reunification had already killed it of course. But these things die slowly and have many last kicks, of convulsions. Yugoslavia included.
And so with Sykes-Picot too. We watch a crypto Kurdish state, too big for the Iraqi shell but too dangerous for Turkey to call itself with its real name: state. She is ignoring Shiite dominated Baghdad and daring Turkish wrath, pursuing a militarised pan Kurdish agenda all the way to Syria. There, they ignore the Shiite-allied Allawite regime. Syrian Kurds used to have an understanding with the Baathist Assadists. Abdullah Ocalan was a longtime resident of Syria before geopolitics moved him on. To a famous rendezvous in Kenya.
BOTTOM LINE.
In Kobane, Syrian, Iraqi, Turkish and Iranian Kurds are fighting side by side against IS. They are supported by the USA, which lists the main fighting force, the PKK, a terrorist organisation. Given the significance of Turkey to long-term US geopolitical calculations, I have a hunch behind the scenes, the Americans have assuaged Turkish fears. When Assad and the IS are done, the Yankees will help Turkey contain the Kurds. 'Did we not deliver Abdullah Ocalan on a silver platter? Trust us.'
It is a lesson in friendship/skullduggery Kurdish nationalism's should ponder. Oil client states pay a price. They're owner-occupied.
Nb: Kurds: Kurds are Sunni in the majority. IS too. But Kurdish nationalist bondage and aspirations, take precedent in loyalty, over Sunni religious lineage. One could say southern Iraq is a Shiite caliphate, the Sunni heartlands the IS caliphate, and in that tectonic clash, Kurdish nationalism is spun off as a moon orbiting the chaos. It is a new chapter in the historical adventure of the Kurds. Turkey with its 20m Kurds and fuming, is correctly worried. But to stand in the path of progress is to ask for it.
The current world order is.

--------- BOTTOM LINE.In Kobane, Syrian, Iraqi, Turkish and Iranian Kurds are fighting side by side against IS. Trust us.' It is a lesson in friendship/skulduggery Kurdish nationalism's should ponder. Oil client states pay a price. They're owner-occupied. Well, it looks like Assad and ISIS are taking their time going, and as the situation hardens, the increasingly confident and merging Kurdish guerrilla forces are giving Turkey sleepless nights. So Turkey has decided to pull rank: open their airspace and military bases for coalition forces against ISIS, ostensibly joining the coalition, but in reality, free-run on thrashing Kurdish resistance positions, both in Nothern Iraq and Syria! The US acquiesced as expected, and now the full force of NATO is behind Turkey's position. And what is the Turkish position? Turkey says the Kurdish peshmerga and ISIS are equivalent! crystalisations of pure evil! Fair and square says NATO, effectively allowing savage airpower on their MOST EFFECTIVE allies on the ground! ---He he! Talk about skulduggery! So what is the game plan? I think a territorial subdivision of Syria. Turkey grabs land and adds Syrian oil fields to its territory, squeezing historic Kurdistan all the more in the aftermath. Meanwhile Iraqi Kurdistan, an oil client state of the US which only held its lines against IS when help arrived from the PKK and its Syrian branch YPG, can not make up its mind. It enjoysa hefty oil contraband trade with Turkey, but now general Kurdish nationalism is under NATO firepower by proxy! wat to do? Whatever they do, I do not think they can afford to alienate the USA, --their Lord Protector from the no-fly-zone days when Saddam Hussein was in power and ready to use chemical gas upon them. It is a ruthless corner to be for Kurdish nationalism, but such are the trials in the terrible journey to nationhood. Thinking of the plight of the Palestinians too!

WAITING TO EXIT.The POTUS Barrack Obama must feel a lucky man. His term is over, the mess just starting. And it will all be someone else's to clean up. 1. The Talibhan romped into strategic Kunduz, kicking out the Afghan Terra-cotta army. The remedy is a NATO-USA counter purge. NB: Actually the Afghan army, like the US-equipped Iraqi army that fled Ramadi in the face of an IS onslaught, have a very good reason not to put up a fight. They know the long-term solution is a power-sharing deal with the Talibhs. But the puppet politicians in Kabul controlled by the Americans think otherwise in their delusions. Therefore western troops have to come back, and put their boots where their mouths are. But Obama was elected and re-elected to bring home the boys and avoid useless and expensive wars in far-away barbarian lands. But as I said, it is no longer Obama's plate to take care of. His tenure is gone. 2. In Syria, Vladimir Putin has struck and dispersed American and Saudi policy. Bashir al Assad has apportioned himself a mighty air-force, and it is roaring, with audacity. The Russians are keen to test their latest technologies. Syria is a practicing, learning ground. Some of the terrorists the Russians are hitting are CIA assets, and for a moment I was unfazed, wondering why, knowing American agents could be in the field, the Russians were taking pot shots at them. Whey such risky provocation -if they killed an American citizen!? Then it struck me. Something I had gathered earlier on in the year. In Novorussia, or Donbass, of the Donetsk and Luhansk peoples republics, the Ukrainian army had gotten new ammo from the USA. The Ukrainian soldiers were not up on the familiarity with the new systems, so the Americans had come in to man them. And they had hit casualties -some of them 'freelancers' from mother Russia on war holiday. The Americans had drawn blood first. Russians killing them in Syria would be to even up. Blood for blood. The barbarism of Hamurrabi (the law giver) is still a flag we fly high in our times. THE WITTY BARBARIAN AND THE DIM BARBARIAN Both super-power men -Putin and Obama--- have missed the historical tide in the Middle East. They give long speeches at the UN, on every subject on Earth, and they dwell endless on the terrorist threat and security deal for the troubled region -ending terrorism, yet the word PALESTINE is outside their vocabulary range. To fill that gap -Palestine-- in their thinking, their speeches about the middle east are then the disjointed thought patterns of an incoherent korsakov patient. Talking matter, avoiding the word atom. The day Vladimir Putin will declare that no comprehensive security is possible in the middle east without a permanent solution to the plight of Palestinian nationhood, will be the day he will become a renaissance man. Otherwise all these strategic gimmicks he authors with which he runs rings around the Americans, only make him the wittiest barbarian amongst dimmer barbarians. (dimmer barbarians like Obama, Cameron, Hollande, Abbot, Harper). Putin like Obama has nothing to offer Palestinians. Just another barbarian on a rampage, marking territory. Considering the calibre of Putin, it is a pity to have him so underperform. Sickening actually.

THE WITTY BARBARIAN AND THE DIM BARBARIAN
Both super-power men -Putin and Obama--- have missed the historical tide in the Middle East.
That comment above from you captures the power plays in the global sphere quite well. All about interests.
I might add that the US with its military spending at hundreds of billions annually is quite a disappointment. The fact that their Intelligence failed to see the current radicalisation in the middle East smacks of incompetence. The fact that they failed to see Russia's move also should worry them.
However that aside, I think Obama should use this current opportunity handed over to him by Putin as a good excuse to leave Syria. He wont be able to have that again whilst saving face. The middle East has become a quagmire that many hadn't predicted. There is no defined end in sight me thinks. There are a lot of forces at play in Syria; even the US allies as you showed above have got their own selfish interests that the West doesn't share: Turkey has the small Kurdish problem which has also not helped with Syria, Saudi is involved, Iraq etc. The western allied Arab states are divided.
Putin on the other hand, also doesn't have it easy. Iran is in play with its own interests in the region, Hezbollah are also being used to fight on Assads side (who would have thought that an Islam entity like that would ever) and not to forget their problems with Russia and mostly Israel. Now with the added funding and weapons help towards Hezbollah from the East, who knows where that will head in regard to Israel. Then there is the refugee crisis to deal with... has anyone noticed how Russia never gets involved in the humanitarian aspect ?
Lets hope Putin has a plan. Note that Putin is not just going there to prop up (rightfully so) his ally mainly because of Russias bases there. he has also found an arena to display Russias "improved" military might to the World. That's all he cares for thus Jakaswangas use of the Phrase "BARBARIAN" all of them. That's why he used those missiles launched from the Caspian sea vessels to strike targets in Syria that would have been done away with using normal jets. Until now, no one knew Russia had the capabilities almost equal to the US's Tomahawk.
But what is the end game ? What is Putins play ? I am sure everyone will celebrate peace in Syria. How do we get there. Remember that Russias military in Syria is on a very small scale. Not one to really send shivers down the spine of an observant military specialist. It is not on the level of their Afghanistan incursion decades ago. Is it because he is stretched at home with the Ukraine crisis ? Is it because he has learnt lessons from his American counterpart's Iraqi and Afghan debacle ? Just recently Obama extended the stay of the American personell in Afghanistan with reason; No one wants a fresh breeding ground for Isis there. Look at Iraq. The question is, are Putins forces large enough to defeat Isis (though research shows they are not really hitting Isis bases but the moderate Anti Assad forces)or is the game plan to defeat the moderate anti Assad forces leaving Syrians and the World with only two Options; Assad or the Radical IS ?
I digress. Perhaps Putin may not involve ground troops and may let the Iranians deal with that. The Iranian troops surrounding Aleppo certainly prove that's the way it may be going. That also means this strategy was planned months ago. But at what point does Putin show the world success ? What point does he exit ? will he leave troops there for years and get bogged down in Insurgency like America in its adventures ? What about his homefront. What if suicide bombers strike at home ? Is he stretching himself out with two fronts including Eastern Ukraine.
Those are the questions we should all ask in the hope of finding a solution. It is my Opinion that both sides should work together and come up with a political solution. But that doesn't seem likely because America refused to share intelligence and have also refused to cooperate ona mutual bombing strategy. They probably have their reasons but a common ground can be found I think.
The Iran deal is an example of what can happen when both powers work together. I would like to see a world where Russia takes initiative in Such Matters and also takes the initiative in humanitarian matters e.g the refugee situation.
I am asking Much ? hehehehehehe.
Unedited.

ISIS AND THE MIDDLE EAST RE-EXPORT A CONTRADICTION: GERMAN NATIONALISM PUBLICLY SCOLDS ANGELA MERKEL FOR EASTERN SLT! No, not the netzpolitik.org fiasco where pictograms of a furtive-looking Angela Merkel were waved, depicting her as public enemy number one; nor do I refer to the teddybear effigies of Angela with nooses around their heads, mockingly frogmarched in street demos; nay, nor her corruption in the transatlantic spy scandal
as satirized here below with her as Bond Obama's babe P-ussy Galore or Respect Blackman, take your pick of assorted bonded meat ... nor in the one-sided trade deal, TTIP. O nay, these were just a rehearsal to the rising nastiness. Yes, a much more sinister form of German Patriotism was yet to be awakened. PEGIDA mark I too, came too early. We are the people and we say stop the islamisation of the people. Now it has on time, and it takes center stage. Henriette Reker, now elected mayor Cologne, was stabbed in the neck, nearly fatally by a German nationalist enraged at her pro-refugee stance in politics. And all through Germany pro-refugee politicians are receiving threats and insults. That will surely change the electoral landscape, and not just in Germany, the central power of Europe. This below is the other side of the coin, the pro-migration Germany, too, on the streets, vying for a hearing. But understandably, politicians going places are hedging their bets, reading the electorate, tapping the rims of their glasses, tilting their heads in conspiratorial, yet transparent rituals. Actually he said: OPEN DOOR refugee policy. That phrase has a sinister ring about it. Like in former top banker Thilo Sarazzin writes a book: GERMANY ABOLISHES ITSELF! We well keep that rolling hot story of the birth pangs of a new Germany tabbed, time willing. Now, when musing about the collapse of the Picot-Sykes deal and the contours of a new deal in the middle east, I could not have imagined one of the greatest consequences, even as side effect, would be European politics. It seems before the current sandstorm settles in the middle east, European politics have to be re-arranged. The pimped-up mask of a soft-powered Europe, multicultural and easy-going, tolerant and humane, steeped in social democratic traditions beyond barbarism, is gradually being peeled back to reveal the old anti-Semitic, street-hardened prostitute underneath. (Europe is scared of her waning powers to bedazzle the awakening world, Young Europe is aware of her inability to absorb casualties at distant wars. Young male Europeans, sometimes the only children of their parents, mostly one of two, do not want to die in democratisation wars in far-off Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria or wherever the USA decrees they go as NATO support maidens. They know the dying ranks of the American Army are white trash and ghetto blacks and Latinos whose crack-addicted who-re mothers drop more mouths than Uncle Sam can feed, nor jail in her famous penitentiary complexes. Uncle Sam has got excess brown canon fodder, a disposal luxury European armies do not have, even with the French Foreign Legion! Then there is the --let us call it curious for the moment--- fact of the European Muslim youth are so alienated, that they form the core of the Jihadi warriors which young white Europeans are expected to die fighting against in these pacification wars of the Muslim world. In other words, Middle East Wars are EUROPEAN CIVIL WARS.NB: Putin's fury in Syria is mere Great Russian fear of rogue Tchechen nationalism. I said before: if Putin were a man of vision, he would never organise a conference in Viena on the future of Syria without mention of neither the Palestinian, nor the Kurdhish homeland. Putin too wants Picot-Sykes maintained, and Syria firmly in the bear's grasp. That is how I know Putin is just a Russian patriot petrified by Chechen nationalism gone radical Islam. --More about that later. Especially now that, the idea that White folk can kill Sunni Muslims with impunity over there at the gulf yet enjoy comfortable holidays across in Sunni Egypt, has proven its stupidity. well, it has also proved the untold naivette of low-cost European holiday makers, dying for a tan. --more about that later too. So these middle east wars are also european civil wars exported. That is an exported contradiction. So of course with time it will come back home. Politicians at the top tend to pretend otherwise --just like our own Ouru Kenyatta's everything is okay as the cash crisis bites, but young white Europeans recognise the danger instinctively. It is their future. Already there are sections of big European cities which are autonomous. They call them Sharia Enclaves. When the Muslim population reach a certain threshold, according to the chronicles of White Fear, that autonomy will be police-proof, and a cyst of unchristian rot. Soldiers will do. Christian white European boys against Muslim European boys, effectively a faith civil war at home. Need not happen, but it could. And many white folk think it will happen, unless
the refugee wave of Muslims is stopped, now! A task they suspect is beyond the current European elite, running stuff from Bruxelles.) Perhaps it is just as good the EU does not hold elections nor referendum, but is a kind of enlightened dictatorship from Brussels. Because the European public opinion is baying for blood. The blood of foreigners. Grassroots democracy would dictate a state-sponsored construction of concentration camps for these non-white refugees invading the Old Continent. It was indeed a sign of the times, that even within the German cabinet, an unprecedented event occurred: Angela Merkel was shouted down. Repeat In PR-poached language: And amazingly she was shocked, reported to have been shocked, you know. But there was no 'report' about this one, because her furtive shock was visible on TV. The Iron Chancellor was visibly shaken when, visiting a refugee hostel which had been arsoned to prevent occupancy -- (I think it was in the Dresden area, in Heidenau, the surrounding German crowds mocked her commiseration and made her out for a cheap SLT Or b!tch. ---Charges wont be pressed though arrests for lowering the dignity of the head of state were preferred. These were dropped only because prospective candidates in the next election have read the writing on the wall. Press charges and die electorally, they perceive. Social media reported a German electorate sympathetic to the image of the Kanzelarin as a German-self-hating 'ossie slt'. ('u' missing between l and t) Now something about the typology 'ossie' which is not carried over into English: Ossie is the general name given to former citizens of the defunct German Democratic republic. Culturally it is like when Kikuyus like Kabogo use the word Kerhee on a certain ethnic group. It is a slur, and a depreciation of the Germanness of one. technically it means 'Eeasterner'. From the East! But remember what Goebbels said when he heard the word CULTURE! (self-hating in German cultural slang may also contain a whiff of a nationalist sneer at the fact that Merkel has preferred to be childless!) A 'self-hating eastern sulut' is that deep and dark when a nasty-minded German nationalism has her say. Still, for a section of German nationalism to refer to her most successful leader of Europe and the historic first female chancellor as an Eastern sulut, is deeply disturbing. And for that meaning to be sustained by large crowds around the country, multitudes large enough to intimidate prospective electoral candidates with a chance to form the next government, is a positive danger, meseems. But yes, Germany has been a handmaided to the USA in her adventurism in the middle east. Merkel pays a twisted price for this. A Long, long shot for ISIS, but so too it must have seeme to the pilot of the Russian metrojet, flying at over 30,000 feet.
