Now I read it seriously, this is an important document in Miguna's fight with his demons. It unites both content and emotion in a honest outrage. It is articulate and internally fluent on both (genuine) anger and deliverance.
By hindsight, the humiliating sacking by Raila seems to be exactly what Miguna had needed to get fired and find himself. And in my opinion, a fired pen of Miguna's intellect critiquing the rotten Luo ruling class that recruited him for mercenary service before dumping him, is a necessary catharsis in the current dead-end trajectory (of the official Luo nationalism). –-Give me a break Kenya, you are a baby born yesterday in Berlin, and thus excused to soil yourself publicly for a few more centuries of slow maturity! On the other hand, Luo nationalism is too old to be stupid without being shown the red card!)
This Luo elite could only come up with madness as the explanation to Miguna's books. There is something pitiful, pathetically stupid and despicable when a political elite consisting of aces like Professor Oyugi Akong'o, the late ''Renaissance man'' Dr. Adhu Awiti, Political science Maestro Peter Anyang' Nyong'o and the rest of our high-grade mental fuels, all huddle together in the corner of sheepish acquiescence, underwriting the diagnostic that Miguna was a psychiatric case.
There is this story about Galileo Galilei and his conflict with Catholic orthodoxy which one might have thought these doctorates from Nyanza would have heard, and could use to temper down mentally senile royal othordoxy, or at least exchange glances –-winky public columns-- in conspiratorial recognition.
That Miguna has broken out of that mental morgue, and out of that consensus of self-depreciation, is one of the best things that will ever happen to Janyando. He sets his mind free from the confines of mercenary careerism, and from the dictates of mental servility to political courts of short-termism. He frees himself from ritual, weekly celebrations of his intellectual mutilation, stooped in delusions of patriotism imagining he is serving both the Luo and Kenyan nation, while in fact he be only a bureaucrat servicing a rogue charlatan breed.
Josy Janyando unleashed is quite a peace of work. And a peace of work saying his mind fighting Wanjiku's corner is always a good thing in my books! (I assume if Miguna were still in the employ of Raila today, he would now be fuming defending the indefensible Orengo and his secret ''extortion'' list!) –-So works the mind of a mercenary!
Miguna is not known for humour in his writings, but because he is at ease with his (impassioned) heart and (clear) head in this missive, he becomes funny whether he likes it or not, because the rhetorical form befitting the content has its own dynamics independent of the will of the user. -(Like a speaker can use a clinically scientific term in a serious lecture, and gape in surprise as the audience goes into a hysterical laughter for 5 roaring minutes.
Uncomprehending, such a serious public speaker becomes irritated at the interruption and wastage of his valuable time, only escalating the fun some more.) And so here too, Miguna's honesty explodes the boundaries of his seriousness, and he humanly achieves something he rarely achieves, humour. Though clearly unintended.

that word mystifying! why really did we expect politicians borne and bred of KANU to be anything else? May be we were experimenting, giving the benefit of doubt!? Hmm, but here we are being castigated
this is factually true, but I suppose it is not so mystifying why the callous crooks go scot free in Kenya, and continue to hold the highest offices.
It would be intriguing to read the opinion of his fellow Canadian CJ Mutunga on that one.
credible and transparent processes in Kenya? when even a simple police recruitment drive is beyond our sanitary capabilities as a nation!?
This demanding without reserve is, methinks, a shout at the deaf. I am afraid something much more robust, like an enhanced technique of prodding the powerful to their senses, is what is going to be needed.
When he zones on his native Nyanza, that is when he becomes ''deliciously mad''. It was the same diagnosis on Ngugi wa Thiong'o by his fellow Kikuyus when the literary maestro was taking Kenyatta snr to task on his land-grabbing.
These detail too -the mad wa Thiong'o, his Kamirithu ransacked like Miguna's book promos in Nyanza-- escaped the sturdy doctorates of Nyanza. That is a clear symptom of the Luo Nyanza rot. A conspiracy, and consensus by leading intellectuals to kill off critical thinking.
