THE STRANGE CASE OF THE DEHIRING OF Steven Salaita AT THE UIUC
- (UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT URBANIA CHAMPAGNE):
A fiasco at the University of Illinois: Steven Salaita
In France it is the death of Independent journalism in print media being mourned. The big papers have all been bought by 'sugar-daddies' interested in erasing critical coverage of their corruption and incestuous activities with the political elite. The end of critical journalism is the price for further existence. In effect it is the end of the expression of diverse views by the canonic printing press, they become Advert rags for the rotten top. The once heroic LeMondes and the Liberations of Paris have become toilet papers wiping the ass of corruption, and their remaining miserable journalists getting paid well for flushing the sh!t. –-more about that later.
Now over there across the Atlantic, the ugly head of DONOR PRESSURE has emerged into the bright spotlights in the USA. A highly revealing scandal has broken, how large donors influence 'operative decisions' at certain Universities. Let us talk Steven Salaita vs the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne.
We could parapharase that to … He he he! Tell me where you studied, and I will tell you who or what you were not allowed to read! Speak, and betray the determinant of your sotware, them donors who programmed your carriculum and vetted your lecturers!
–--It is a rotten ''Joboya -sex for fish- system'' up there in ivy-league academialand too! What a world!

STEVEN SALAITA AND THE UNIVERSITY OF illinois at Urbana-Champagne UIUC
forward.com/articles/205543/de-hired-professor-steven-salaita-is-a-universitys/?p=all what one needs to know, is that Salaita is of Palestininan origins, and urbana is heavily Jewish donors. And Salaita tweeted, during the recent masacres in Gaza by the Israeli army, that it would not be surprising if Bibi Netanyahu appeared on TV wearing a necklace embroidered with the teeth of Palestinian children!
Such disloyalty, however academically briliant and suitable for a professorship, wont pass at certain colleges dependent on jewish funding. Or? Let us watch the soap unfold in the land of the free where the pursuit of happiness is creed.

A fiasco at the University of Illinois: Steven Salaita
Michael Hiltzik Los Angeles Times:
Steven Salaita is a respected scholar in American Indian studies and Israeli-Arab relations, which got him hired recently to a tenured position at the University of Illinois. On Twitter, he's been voicing his objections to Israel's conduct in Gaza in the most forceful terms. That has just gotten him fired by the University of Illinois. The result is a firestorm over whether Salaita was fired for his political views, or for his comments in the nonacademic, extramural forum of Twitter, or both

They voted 8 to 1 to uphold the firing of Salaita. This can rightly be seen as a blow to the very concept of academic freedom, but there's another sinister undercurrent to the case: there's evidence that major donors put pressure on the board and the university administration to dump the professor, Steven Salaita. If so, it wouldn't be the first time that financial donors have tried to manipulate university administrations into doing their bidding, but it's certainly one of the most disturbing examples of a bad trend.

With the debate over the controversy brewing in university corridors, academic publications and in online discussions, pressure on the UIUC administration to reinstate Salaita has been growing. Five departments have voted no confidence in Chancellor Phyllis Wise, a handful of scholars have canceled planned lectures and events at UIUC, and several large academic organizations have issued statements condemning the decision not to hire Salaita.
