They got it wrong right from the git-go, as one would say. All that carrying-on about justice and victims and rights and what-not. And well after when everyone had been told---and told very clearly---to accept and move on! Four simple words: "accept", "and", "move", "on". Hard to see how anyone could fail to understand that.
...
Not too long ago, The Dark Prince, one Mr. F. Kimemia, suddenly discovered that some supposedly do-good NGO types were actually in the secret business of plotting to overthrow the duly-elected leadership of the Sovereign & Independent (51+) Republic of Kenya. a key target: USAID and the $500m+ per year they put into health, all to hide a really dark plot. Folks guffawed until tears flowed. (No, this is not the time to ask why Baby Dr. K then busied himself distributing anti-mosquito things issued, for free, by said American nasties.) Back on track … it’s always a huge mistake to laugh at the people who really run the show.
Mr. Kimemia: “So, f**kers! Who’s laughing now?”
Chalk one for Mr. Kimemia, because here we are, right now. A timeline always helps.
Between the Dark Prince’s discovery and now, there has been the 13th Sesssion of the ICC Assembly of States Parties. And a review of that session will highlight the Urgent Need to sock it to the NGOs right now.
Just before the ASP session, GoK---fronted by H.E.’s personal ambassador to the UN, a Mr, Macahria Kamau, and H.E.’s personal public lawyer to the world, a Prof. Amicus Mortician---was breathing fire. Step forward, bought-and-paid-for media, and stir it up:
“THE stage is set for a showdown between states critical of the ICC and the Court’s backers as Kenya has tabled a detailed account of what it terms gross violations of the Rome Statute by the global institution.”

So how did the ASP session go?
Right off the bat, it didn’t look good for the “African-Solutions-For-African-Problems”/”The-ICC-Is-Targeting-Us” lot.
No. 1: A few months ago, the CAR asked the ICC to open yet another investigation in that country. The ICC agreed. Not a single word from the AU. So it must have been very awkward that the keynote speech for the session was by the CAR president, and she lavished so much praise on the ICC that even I shed a little tear.
(I don't imagine that the Kenyan media did much reporting on that speech.)
No. 2: He, he, he … maybe the ASP has seen something in this line of African-Solutions-For-African-Problems. For the next ASP President, the Senegalese guy came pre-approved, as credit-card companies would put it. Naturally, the first order of business was the “I am deep honoured and humbly accept” speech. Then he promptly got down to business: the Kenyans were to piss off; their stuff did not belong on the ASP agenda.
“KENYA has suffered a major setback in its bid to “expose” the ICC, after the Assembly of States Parties rejected its agenda to discuss the conduct of the court's judges and prosecutors … Incoming ASP President Sidika Kaba yesterday informed the states that the Kenyan agenda will not be included, to the chagrin of Kenyan representatives in the US meeting.”

And that was that. Well, it wasn't quite that, because it "nicely" the stage for ..
No. 3: The Kenyan NGOs then went to town on GoK. And what a beating! Macharia Kamau out by a left hook … Prof. A. Mortician out by uppercut … H. E. Dr. Rais savaged by numerous body blows …
But all that was in New York, and here we are right now. Guess who’s going to get tarimbo right up the … Besides, these NGOs have been at it for quite some time---disrespecting and insulting authority while being unpleasant on behalf of small people who don't really count. Well let's show then what's what: in my home-home village we call it showing people "why chickens don't grow teeth". No, don't ask; I don't have the foggiest idea of what that means. Let's stick to the NGOs:
F**k the NGOs and their small people who don't know people or even know people who know people, and their civil rights too!, and their human dignity stuff as well!, and all that nonsense! F**k, F**k, F**k. Kienyeji Style. That's what will prevail. And if you don't care for any of that, mta do?
Reality Check: Maybe the 2007-2008 PEV never happened? It's beginning to look like a figment of somebody's imagination.
