EACC VICE-CHAIR IRENE KEINO EXPOSES THE PRESIDENT'S MEN.
Long-serving personal-aid to uhuru Kenyatta Njee Muturi. Can dish out ambassadorial positions at his leisure, or so he believes.
Once upon a time:Keep those qualifications in mind. Long-serving personal assistant and political confidante.
But first: in the beginning there was this. GARISSA MOI CAMPUS.
On the Luo sms, whatsupp, phone and email circuit today, the story has been that of Akinyi. She was a student at Moi University Garissa campus, and presumably one of the victims of the Al-Shabaab death squad.
Presumably because it was a battlezone and there were also Kenya Army bullets flying around, and post-moterms are not yet conclusive.
Anyway, her last SMS before the phone went dead was to her boyfriend, hundreds of kilometres away. ''If it is God's plan I never hold you again in my arms, be happy for me and do the best for Kenya. But know I died loving you, and our love forever. (''Atho ka an mari nyakachieng''!)
I am sure many more messages will surface in many corners of the republic, for the students who died hail from everywhere, and some had time to text and call before they met their sad fate.
Like this one which a Nairobi radio station shared with her listeners: (The girl was from Luhyaland. She was hiding in a cupboard. She called her dad, to pray for her and to profess her undying love:) ''Íf I die today, dad, know I have always been proud of you and have always tried to do you proud of me. Greetings to all.''
Then the phone went suddenly dead after a thud. The dad dialled.
''where is my daughter?'' the distressed father asked.
''I have just killed her.'' came the matter of fact answer.
And then a message: ''tell the leader of your country we do to you what your army does to our sisters and brothers in our country. This is revenge. Innocent blood for innocent blood.''
End conversation.
I am sure in the coming days, weeks and months, even mobile phone and smart gadget videos will reveal the gory last moments of the many students who perished at Garissa campus on the eve of Easter 2015. And we shall continue to take stock of the rancid brutality that transpired in the confines.
But these sorrows however deep are not the thrust of the post I have in my head to make. But yes, I admit, this post was provoked by the line I read in the text message forwarded to my phone in the morning. The Akinyi last testimonial which went ''be happy for me and do the best for Kenya''.
As I have been displaying in my Luo Nyanza pivot, Kenya is more an academic exercise for me, an entity where my emotions are no longer invested in full. Like: If the Kikuyus were to declare a Mount Kenya republic tomorrow, I would neither holler for re-unification, nay, I would not patriotically becry the territorial indivisibility of Kenya, nor would I join the Unionist army in murderous rampage to defeat the secessionist rebellion. And, if Turkana thinks that even with the current low oil prices they are better off going it alone to become the Kuwait of East Africa, all I would do is wish them luck and say go for it. Too, if the Pwani si Kenya people win a referendum to secede from the corrupt republic of Kenya and its vermin elite, I wouldn't belabour the point of the loss of the port of Mombasa to a mostly Mohammedan crowd. Nay, a Kingdom of corruption and impunity is not anything to be unqualifiedly loyal to.
I have lived in small dominions like Luxembourg which are run well, and fiery patriotism of keeping an unwilling people in a corrupt, moribund entity (merely for the sake of historicity) is no longer sustainable in my mental make-up. If Kenyan Somalis want to join Somalia, I would have them get on with it in peace.
If Yugoslavia does not work, break it up. Let those serious with themselves and their geographical entity like the Slovenes, move on, and leave behind those interested in creating gangster states, like the Macedonians and Abanian-Kosovos, to make a Haiti republic of their areas. Sinking ships must be abandoned. No need going with them to the bottom of the sea. Methinks.
And then the GIRLS of Kenya surprise me. They show more grit for Kenya than I have. It is not a lost case, take heart in Kenya. The girls have more patriotism despite the rotten state of Kenya than I would imagine possible. More belief, more firmness, more idealism, Lo, that puts to shame my emerging pivot and paints a picture of me as a cheap soldier, more like one who deserted duty when battle was fiercest, in essence a coward. They remind me of the resoluteness of my youthful days, when I gave Africa all I had, even if it turned into a disaster right in front of my eyes. (we liberated Congo from Mobutu's clutches at a tremendous death-price, then the next day the Congolese peoples said: thank you very much, goodbye roaches, we will take it from here. But we refused to go away, we overstayed. We forced our way about overriding their will, and hell broke loose. --The hatred of a people when they do not want your military occupation is one of the most insane things I have seen in my life. One of the most maniacal and evil. Even when they die a painful death, their death-mask is not of pain, it is of hate. Hate for the foreigner kicking their women around and humiliating them daily. It is demonic rage.)
I reckon as a young man I faced this kind of hate which consumes the hearts of the type of Somalis who perpetrated the Garrissa campus massacre. As they said, they do not want the Kenyan Defence Force in Somalia, and have no qualms about the kind of atrocities they visit upon the peoples of the invader land.)
But because we have ''our legitimate reasons'' for being there, LINDA NCHI, kicking arse and killing terrorists, we should be prepared for deeds emanating from one of the deadliest emotions of man: patriotic hate. And from Somalia, there will be a tinge of religious fervour thrown in the mix, given we are mostly a Christian army.
Perhaps we have entered a trap, a Hamurabbi cul-de-sac. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Death for death. Mass death, for mass death. A race to Hell.
Time for the Solomons amongst ye, O warring nations, to rise up and be counted.
(Honestly I am not too worried being a coward in middle age. --A softie: calling for negotiations.)
And so the late Garissa student Akinyi permeated my consciousness with her last words. When I went to leaf through the papers to find some more ''to whom it may concerns'' --the state of kenya agony aunts section, then again did another Kenyan lady give me the frights, bamboozling my wits to zero. This time it was the Vice Chair-Person of the EACC. (ethics and anti-corruption commission), the indomitable Irene Keino.
A few days ago in retrospect I was asking where she was: here in this Uhuru Muigai thread
Well, here is my answer. Her fighting spirit is Koitalelic. Unlike professor Onsongo who was pulp-beaten and cracked by Uhuru's enforcers. The three capos forming a Triumvirate of Evil consisted of Chepkonga, Abdikadir and Njee Muturi who is the solicitor General. Given the extent to which Attorney General Githu Muigai relies on njee Muturi for legal operations, the man must be considered one of the key President's men. No doubt he felt confident to dish out ambassadorial positions to as if these state positions were handkerchiefs in his pocket. But try as they might, they could not intimidate Irene Keino. --Was he a lone ranger, or was he conducting Presidential business?
In fact they have ended up putting Ouru Kenyatta in a spot. Here is the president yelling at the top of his voice that he is fighting graft, here are mandarins from his office derailing the process with impunity, working 24/7 to discredit and disband the ethics body. Halakhe Haqo and Mubea are already compromised. That left the women.
''You have bee ordered to resign!'' thundered the solicitor General. Sweetening the criminal arrogance with ambassadorship to Brazil/Germany as a reward for the women to drop the battle against corruption!!
HERE IS IRENE KEINO AS THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS.
Parliament being the den it is, that implementation could of course take centuries ...
And the story has some interesting turns.
Njee Muturi is the political confidante and ex-personal assistant or secretary of Uhuru Kenyatta. When he talks of instructions from above, I copy he means the president himself.
Otherwise he is bluffing. Misusing the president's name, abusing his personal history with and proximity to his Excellency. In both cases he is a rotten operator, sabotaging the anti-corruption fight. With friends like that, the president is neutralised, a prisoner.
If state agents are that desperate, then things are cooking. They treated the two ladies like suspects in a murder case!
Meanwhile kudos to Irene Keino. This lady is not for turning so far. Iron like Maggie Thatcher. And for Uhuru's bedboy Njee Muturi, his dirty arsehole is now exposed in the open, and we take bets on which bayonets will lay him waste. Internal or external!?
A sollicitor general who behaves like this is scum, the president who continues to tolerate him in service, a cheat.
Long-serving personal-aid to uhuru Kenyatta Njee Muturi. Can dish out ambassadorial positions at his leisure, or so he believes.
Once upon a time:
Business Daily June 2013.
Uhuru nominates Njee Muturi as solicitor general.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has nominated his long serving personal assistant and political confidant Njee Muturi to be the next Solicitor-General.
Mr Kenyatta picked his onetime Kanu Executive Director to replace Mr Wanjuki Muchemi who is retiring from the State Law Office after serving for ten years.

Graft body vows to vet all aspirants Saturday,
By Faith Ronoh
KENYA: The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission ( EACC) will vet all aspirants vying for elective posts in the March 4 General Election despite not being fully instituted. Commission Vice-chairperson Irene Keino said they would present a report on all presidential candidates and their running mates to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission ( IEBC) when the vetting is complete. Ms Keino said those who did not remit taxes, have criminal records among other integrity issues will not be cleared to vie.
'Time could be a challenge but if one does not pass the integrity test and we have credible evidence, we will bar them from vying and send them to court,' she said. She said those found to have misused Constituency Development Fund kitty in their respective constituencies would also face the law. Keino, who was opening EACC's regional office in Eldoret on Friday, said there is need to devolve government offices to the county level to minimise corruption cases.
Grabbed land
The commission's deputy CEO Operations, Mr Michael Mubea said they are investigating over 300 cases of land grabbing in the North Rift. ''We are asking anyone who has grabbed land to hand it back to the Government before it is too late,'' Mubea said.
He added: ''We are willing to forgive those who surrender grabbed land but the law will deal with those who fail to voluntarily return grabbed land.'' Keino urged Uasin Gishu County residents to make use of the EACC office by reporting cases of corruption. She said eliminating corruption at county level would open up investment opportunities and generate income. We are becoming more vigilant at the grassroots level because development activities should be improved at the County level,' she said

Ms Keino said attempts to interfere with the commission should stop forthwith and declared she would continue to discharge her obligations and duties without fear or favour.
"This is a constitutional commission that reports to Parliament and we have so reported through the annual report. The corruption list tabled in Parliament will be implemented and we, as commissioners, commit to ensure the timelines are met," she said.

And the story has some interesting turns.
Yesterday, Keino said there was a brazen attempt to force her resignation and disbandment of the commission by a clique, which is a clear subversion of the Constitution. She said
---the Anglo Leasing scandal,
---Karen land saga,
--- issue of the Integrity Centre and its relationship with
---the Deposit Protection Fund Board,
---Geothermal Development Company
---and Mumias Sugar probe were part of the reasons behind attempts to disband the commission.

The commission now has two commissioners. Matemu, Keino and Waqo said they are yet to receive Prof Onsongo's letter of resignation.
Sources said Onsongo and Keino were summoned to the State Law Office where they were initially told that there were instructions from above for them to resign on grounds that the public does not have confidence in them. But the commissioners declined to pen their signatures on the papers they had been offered.

The discussions degenerated to drama after the State agents resorted to place the two commissioners in different rooms in a bid to convince each separately to quit, officials said. However, Keino stormed the room where Onsongo had been placed and asked her not to relent and later led her out of the room to their cars with their bodyguards. They drove to EACC offices where, according to witnesses, Onsongo looked worried and kept weeping.
