FIXING THE ROTTING CHURCHES OF KENYA: LUTHER REVISITED
Recently, a host of top politicians contending the Uhuru succession have been waxing hot on the holy pulpit. The fervour of Christian religion seems to have been identified as Wanjiku's soft spot. And it is being exploited with a gusto, the recklessness of which should remind me of the tragedy of Icarus, the
flying son of Daedalus.
Some competitors, of the born-again type, seeking to outlaw their opponents in the hearts of the faithful, have denounced them aS waganga and wachawi. A narrative which continues to reverberate. (These are Batu ba Kuchoma you know, if you recall your history of the early Christian hysteria against witches and heretics! ----Incidentally, Sam Mangwana and Luambo Makiadi have an interesting take on BATU BA KUCHOMA! It is a hilarious song)
In the same breath, too, our fake and politically-motivated evangelists declared those who are not Churchly to be forever disqualified from the highest seats of the land of Kenya. Atheists and agnostics, truth seekers and other forms of Doubting Toms, have thus been excommunicated ----at least by this retro thesis---- from the presidency. Because those running this medieval theocratic sales pitch are the evangelical Christian types, in concert with the born-again numbers, the coded message is the Kenyan presidency is a Christian believers monopoly. Sorry, Mohammedans. Sorry, wannabe Sultans!
NICCOLO MACHIAVELLI
We all heard of him. Teaching rotten and imposed leaders how to ingratiate themselves upon a relatively primitive and ignorant population. Such a population, infested by religion and superstition, kept in pre-industrial ignorance but informed only by The Church ----The hierarchical doctrines of the Holy, Feudal Church, ..... will obey the King unconditionally once he is perceived as Holy. It did not take long for the God's alleged representatives on Earth, like The Holy Pope of Rome, to rise to the top of Earthly Seats, the imperial throne. It set the stage for a historical conflict of mammoth proportions over the control over social wealth.
Two things have happened since this usurpation. Both of them revolutions in human thinking.
First was the secularism of the bourgeois and their industrial revolution. It reduced religion to a private affair. Public affairs is money matters: Capital. There is one rule, Capital rules. Soon even the churches became commercialised. And you can take a look at your local holy site, to think out whether it is a commercial enterprise ---with its forced Tythes, or about salvation and redemption for nothing after death
The second great event was the political revolutions led by Reds. The October revolution of Russia and later, Mao's China. These world-power producing political revolutions were led by avowed atheist parties. Lenin just said 'Ach, Religion? That is the opium the people! Tough luck we wont sell the people their opium!'
The Kenyan president must be a god-fearing man is thus an ideological pitch by our robber barons to lock out revolutionary-minded men like Martin Ngatia of the Kenya Red Alliance.
Their battle cry is Shetani ashindwe! Waislamu pia washindwe! if one bothers to deconstruct the subconscious of these creeps!
The modern Kenyan Church is not into liberation theology, yet. It is not yet subjected to competition by a secular ideology out to recruit the masses to its anti-clerical ways. The Establishment Churches therefore have no business contradicting the incumbent political class when they say the true heart of Kenya is Christian, wherefore all none Christian souls be damned, unless they accept Jesus now! or, wait for it, Unless they revoke their UGANGA NA UCHAWI asap!
It is an enduring theme, and the bases it aims to touch are deep. Especially at the adress of Raila Odinga, the only worthy pretender to the vacant seat of the peoples King!
Raila is Mchawi, Raila is Mganga. Even his 'now brother, the once prodigal' Ouru Kenyatta, chimed into the hym, singing his pious heart out, then totally colonised by Ruto. ---eee, ama namna gani, jameni!
NB: A modern society, conflicted with cotradictory interests which are basically on a war-footing, can not fail invade the Church and expose the same. We will presently see how two bishops from the same Church have reacted to the issue of GENEROUS SADAKA from corrupt politicians.
There a controversy still burning following a gift by DP Ruto to one, Catholic Overlord Anyolo. First Anyolo was eyes wide shut, blissful in his mercenary heart. But he was an ostrich waiting for a kick to the bottom.
Here is an instructive article after a historical overview.
There's is no proof the money is stolen, is there!? Otherwise sheriff Kinoti would surely arrest the DP or Hustler thief, wouldn't he!?
Still the issue wont go away.
These are troubling times. Kenya is differentiating before our very eyes. Some will condone official thievery, some wont. And it is decision time. But, luckilly, the Church is no stranger to historical controversy. In Rwanda the other day, hundreds of Tutsis who stupidly trusted the priests of the catholic church for sanctuary, were burnt alive by Hutu extremists tipped by the same holy men to whom they had naively entrusted their lives!
You would think time for a mea culpa, but nay!
And I want that word CONCORDAT in the Kenyan political lexicon! it is the religious version of PARLEY! The Handshake is a parley, Ruto's Church forays are a concordat!
The Church is very experienced in this. Recently, the Catholic church on apartheid in South Africa, how did they do!?
And do you know why in the United States there are BLACK and WHITE CHURCHES? yeah, White Churches were historically pro Slavery, Black Churches anti! The white church wasn't going to excommunicate slavery which is where the wealth of her chief patrons was coming from, before machines were discovered to replace raw slavery!
Capital profit rules!
Then, closer to home, there is the development of the Native (INLAND) Churches during colonialism and exloitative settler racism.
So the historical evidence is The official Church will always be in bed with current power. And it shall do its best to legitimize it, enlengthen it, sanitize its rot and compromise with the status quo for its own material benefits. The quid pro quo could be summarised as: we keep them poor, robbed and exploited; you keep them obedient and unrebellious flock. In exchange, our patronage will be very magnanimous, O priests!
Behind bishop Philip Anyolo's acceptance of Ruto's gift, then, belatedly, its rejection due to public pressure, is a ruthless moral war at the heart of Kenya's culture. A subset of CHAPTER SIX, the integrity clause. The official churches of Kenya, save for a few flashes when the likes of Henry Okullu and David Gitari and Alexander Muge rise to the top, are, Africa morally rising, institutes ripe for the scrap heap. But religion being a peoples addiction, the opium must still flow, and the people have their regular shots. Therefore a compromise: REFORM will do. Religious reform. It is Time for a Kenyan Lutheran, and the edict: REFORMASI.
Meanwhile here is the internal writhing!

Was Sh1M too Little for Bishops Now Disowning DP Ruto's Murang'a Prayer Rally?
On Wednesday, Bishop Maina had said 11 of his colleagues from various denominations including the ACK and the Catholic Church were in the organizing committee of the prayer meeting also meant to endorse the DP for the presidency come 2022.
But on Thursday, ACK bishops Julius Wanyoike (Thika), Julius Karanu (Mt Kenya South) and Timothy Gichere (Mt Kenya Central) said they did not want to be dragged into political controversies.
Bishop Maina had said the clerics would not heed Archbishop Jackson ole Sapit's call for a stop of church harambees by politicians. Bishops Wanyoike, Karanu and Gichere said they have been organizing prayers to be held at a venue and time to be communicated later.

And
In 1939 Eugenio Pacelli was elected Pope Pius XII. As head of the Catholic Church during the war years, he signed the Concordat with Nazi Germany. The Catholic Church, as an organisation, did not protest against any of the anti-Jewish policies of the Nazi state.
(Concordat)
TheVatican would accept the Nazi government in return for the Nazis not interfering with the Catholic Church.

Kenyan archbishop denies Catholic Church accepts funds from corrupt politicians
March 11, 2019
NAIROBI, Kenya (RNS) - The Catholic Church in Kenya has refuted claims that it has been condoning corruption and allowing corrupt politicians to donate what they have stolen from public coffers to the church.
Archbishop Philip Anyolo told Religion News Service that the church does not allow politicians or any suspected individuals to give their ill-gotten money to the church.
"We condemn any acts of corruption because it's against God's will," said Anyolo. "If you steal money or anything and bring it to the church you are already condemned and you have lost touch with God."
However, he noted that it was actually difficult for the church to identify money gotten through corruption.
"We urge people not to bring money to church if they know they have stolen from public coffers," he said. "But as a church we also have no capacity to know whether the money is clean or not."
Anyolo, who is also the chairman of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops, was responding to claims by Kenyans that the church leaders were fuelling corruption in the country by inviting corrupt individuals and politicians to lead fundraisers whereby they donate the stolen money.
Last year, millions of shillings were donated as gifts and offerings to churches, especially the Catholic Church, by politicians in order to be accorded opportunities to greet the faithful and advance their political agenda. For example, between January and June 2018, Deputy President William Ruto donated at least 600,000 US dollars to different churches, more than twelve times his salary in so many months, according to local media reports.
The East African nation of nearly 50 million people is ranked among the most corrupt countries in the world, according to a report by Transparency International. The report shows that in the list of 180 countries, Kenya is ranked 144th, tying with Nigeria.
The Catholic Church, which has about one-third of the country's population, has recently come under attack for fueling corruption. Politicians are accused of looting public funds and donating the stolen money to churches as they seek votes.
However, the Catholic Church has now taken action against individuals they believe are corrupt by rejecting their offerings and gifts.
Recently, Anyolo rejected a donated car worth $40,000 from Deputy President William Ruto after opposition politicians alleged that the car was bought from the proceeds of corruption, according to published reports.
Ruto had surprised the new head of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kisumu with a comfy car during his installation on January 12.
"Recently, during the installation of Archbishop of Catholic Diocese of Kisumu, someone (Ruto) took a vehicle to the bishop as a gift. When the Pope was informed that the Archbishop had received a car gift, he (Pope Francis) ordered that the vehicle be returned," said opposition leader Raila Odinga, who is also the AU Special Envoy for Infrastructure and Development. "The car was returned because it was acquired from proceeds of corruption. Some people steal taxpayers' money and carry it in sacks to churches to sanitize it."
Mr. Ruto denied the allegations of corruption, saying he donated the car to the archbishop, together with President Uhuru Kenyatta, after Catholic legislators requested he do so.
He accused Odinga of "spewing desperate lies" about said vehicle.
"The master of deceit as always is spewing desperate lies," Ruto said on his Twitter account. "Understandably empowering the church offends magicians and the evil spirits they worship."
Anyolo, who was appointed as Archbishop of Kisumu by Pope Francis in November 2018, confirmed to RNS that the Mitsubishi Pajero SUV that was donated to him by Ruto was no longer in his possession, nor does he use it.
However, Anyolo said the gift was not rejected because it was from proceeds of corruption but because he was content with the car he was given on the day he was installed as Archbishop.
"Let's not bring politics in this issue," he said. "As a church we cannot know if the car was bought from the proceeds of corruption or not. The church has already donated the car to another institution and they are free to sell the vehicle and use proceeds from the sale to better the society," he said.
But following the recent developments, Catholic churches across the country have joined the war on graft and are condemning corruption and refusing donations from corrupt politicians.
"We are now not supposed to receive any gift from politicians or any person we believe is corrupt," said one priest who didn't want to be mentioned.
"Corruption is bad and is bringing our country down, and as a church, we resolve to help the government fight the vice."
