This is not a thread based on specific topic. It should have no theme and no limits but expected decency. It is but just a twitt and here goes my first:
Corruption, sleaze and greed are nothing short of endemic proportion in Kenya. From Wanjiku to Kibaki, almost every Kenyan seems eager to grab a slice of others' flesh! May God save the innocent from such a callous and destructive culture.
P.S: feel free to share.

Some of my biggest fears or concerns on being in Kenya, whether for a short visit or permanently living there, are the lack of security, road safety, which is severely compromised by incompetent and reckless drivers, high levels of corruption amongst the public officials as well as within the private sector, and of course lack of proffessional ethics by a good number of of doctors, combined with extreme greed, a culture which transcends all borders, engulfing strangers, relatives and even close next of kins! Pathetic!

Amongst all and within the current leadership of Kenya, there lacks propagation of good philosophical principles, which would assist in raising good moral and high ethical standards, which in turn would exemplify culture of righteousness and fairness towards one another as citizens of one nation.
This indeed is a demonstration of their prevailing poor, corrupt and weak qualities, qualities within which the nation will inevitably retain its continuous downward spiral towards the pit of self destruction and that is scary!

jeeeeez what a collage of insanely annoying comments.
"Almost every kenyan has a mafiya wa mt kenya cannibals temperament - ripping flesh bah blah'
"A majority of doctors lack ethics"
Where is the data you collected to justify this bunch of stupid nonsense from?
This is beyond foolish

Wisdom is not an attribute to be found in abundance amongst the hearts of men and women of our world. Take it from me and I can tell you with certainly through my limited experience and knowledge, that indeed a crooked mind can never and will never be able to think straight!

Empty meandering platitudes such as this one above are twit worthy.
But please when "almost all" Kenyans are collectively referred to as cannibals, we expect some form of documentation, unless you are telling us what you and your immediate family engaged in or did when in Kenya!
So you did a census of doctors in Kenya and documented that a majority are greedy and unethical? Based on what? Only a deluded fellow would make such an allegation.
This is not a fact free forum (we have bowen and mashada for that), unless this post was meant to be a humerous snark (which was not stated) - its just another waste of space here.
No wonder twitteverse is dominated by bone headed republicans like palin. 140 characters is sufficient for that idiot class.

Pathetic! Right on the money, i could not have said it better than you. Just to think that kenya as a country still stand given the kind of people with absolutely no moral standards as its leaders is itself a miracle. Its only in kenya where one would find a population completely consumed and immersed with wealth accumulation either through stealing or by way of corruption at the expense of hard work as a mean to build the nation. Members of Parliament, Police officers, judges, Doctors, Manambas all thinking alike: how to rob the public coffers as their way to be millionaires. One wonders how a sane mind survives and remain sane in such a sewer like state?

Egoism is what centrally, commonly and prominently fuels our actions as humans. The ego instinct tends to inspire us as individuals on what we should want, what we should say, how we should respond, or how we should behave before others in a variety of given situations. Egoism is a natural but very primitive instinct. Left unchecked, it takes control over our bodies and minds, without conscious awareness or good reasoning behind our actions.
To pause, reflect and self criticise before we act, speak or want, will somehow help us make decisions that may be sound, reasonable and appropriate towards our needs, wants and or desires.
We can either allow our primitive instincts to take control over our bodies and minds, or we can condition our conscious minds to take over control of our instincts, that we may subsequently enjoy and benefit from our deliberate but good and rational actions.

This is not a thread based on specific topic. It should have no theme and no limits but expected decency. It is but just a twitt and here goes my first: Abdulmote,You are joking or are your comments to banter the comments on Twitter? Communication between people happens on different levels and Twitter, Facebook and this Board serve some of these levels. As people we are unique and equal. We all will find the level of communication to satisfy our personal need for exchange of opinion. The same applies to the Kenyan society. We all are equal as member of this society although we all behave according to our specific internal values or world view. Generalising all these different worldviews into a Kenyan world view cannot be done as we cannot average positive and negative behaviour of people. Even within a specific tribe or culture which controls the scope of behaviour you will find positive and negative behaviour. We maybe can speak about a Kenyan culture though cannot speak about the Kenyan. Every Kenyan is different. Kenyan culture can change, sometimes by the changed behaviour of just one member. Think about famous people though even close at home during the euphoria when Kibaki came to power when people were almost lynching policeman who asked for a bribe. Changing the Kenyan culture is done person by person. It is the mix of people in a society that defines the general characteristics of society, changing one member of this society can result in a major characteristics change. A society of pure criminals cannot survive, neither a society of angel like people. Getting the most effective mix of people together will make a society prosper. Conclusion; every Kenyan counts the good, bad and the ugly. Your Comments:All your comments are generalities and a good input for a discussion to peel them of into specifics however I do not know if this is your objective of your thread or you just like to grumble a bit. Grab a slice of others' flesh! (I know many Kenyans with a different worldview) Fears or concerns on being in Kenya. Living in Kenya has a higher risk for losing life as say Germany. Though living without risk can be very boring. Risk is a challenge for self-reliance and increases the adrenaline contents which can be very satisfying. Leadership of Kenya, there lacks propagation of good philosophical principles. Kenya is a democracy and leaders are selected by their followers. The mix of the Kenyan society could have too many followers and not enough leaders. Surely there are leaders in Kenya with good philosophical principles (whatever this means)though not enough for a healthy competitive quest. Wisdom is not an attribute to be found in abundance. Neither can we find the ultimate lover, teacher, master, in living creatures. We have to do with what is and discover the best way to apply our little wisdom to our advantages and others. Egoism is what centrally, commonly and prominently fuels our actions as humans. I rather speak of egocentrism. Yes the drive in every person is to manoeuvre ourselves in the best possible position, though this cannot be achieved at the cost of others. Sustainable improvement has to be done together with all other people. In the old days we could go to war and steal it from others, the colonials came and robbed the underdeveloped world from their resources, the Kenyan elite steal it from the poor Kenyans though we now realise it is unsustainable. The best possible position demands a balance with others and the resources we find in the world environment. The quest of the king to exploit has changed in the quest of the world population to live in balance with our environment. If you like philosophical discussions then take your pick for a topic.

I have decided to change the header of this thread as can be seen. It appears likely that due to some innocently established prejudices amongst the readers, perhaps the previous header was being misconceived away from its intended purpose.
Merlin,
Mine are just personal observations of the world as I see it. One may choose to agree with them or disagree. I have no intention of persuading anyone whatsoever to conform or agree with the said views. Indeed, I have no specific purpose of addressing any issue that I may mention within, in a manner that seeks to ‘impose’ or assert the said ‘views’, upon anybody’s mind but leave it to the reader to digest what I state in their own free perception.
In this regard, I welcome anybody's own views or observations one may have on what I do state herein. It is just an exchange of thoughts, if you like. Please do feel free to add or comment as you please.
What readers may understand or perceive from what is written can be a very complex process, which bears numerous factors of influence and no definite or specific route that may lead to an individual outcome. The writer's intention or views put forth may be well established within the same. However, even with good and due attention when writing a piece, sometimes the message within can potentially be misconstrued and there is no telling if the readers' understanding may match the writer's picture established in one's mind. We are indeed some very complex creatures!

We are indeed some very complex creatures! abdulmote,PurposeWhy do I communicate my perception of the world to others or write it here on this board? I like to deal with reality in an effective manner to create a better future situation as the one I find myself in at this very moment. However I am very limited to know reality. Everything I see, hear or other sensory inputs coming from reality has to be interpreted by me to form a perception of reality. I know that my interpretations are fallible and I never will know reality though I can get closer to reality if I compare (discuss) my perceptions with the perceptions of others about the same sensory inputs from reality. Reality will be the same to all of us though we all have a different perception. The closer my perception reach reality, the better I can deal with reality and the better the next situation will be. My perception changes all the time with every comment I hear, read or see. So I am grateful to others who offer me their perception. The consequence of this philosophy is that Truth is no part of my world and I never will know. I am grateful for your observations though the value of it could tremendously improve if you could answer my queries how you came to these observations. What did you do different with the same inputs from reality as I received that lead to your perception? I am sure together we will come much closer to reality as each of us on our own even when extreme prejudice plays a role. As I am searching for reality and have no Truth either knowing, I will be unable to persuade you. Dealing with reality is a trial and error process and together we probably discover a bit faster the better options that will lead to a better future situation. The consequence of this philosophy is that in my world there is no right either wrong. There is only reality to deal with. UnderstandingFor a great deal I agree with your comment; What readers may understand or perceive from what is written can be a very complex process, which bears numerous factors of influence and no definite or specific route that may lead to an individual outcome. The writer's intention or views put forth may be well established within the same. However, even with good and due attention when writing a piece, sometimes the message within can potentially be misconstrued and there is no telling if the readers' understanding may match the writer's picture established in one's mind. We are indeed some very complex creatures! However we can become aware if the reader understand what we meant by asking for confirmation. Discussions take time and efforts though it can deliver results if we set clear objectives and commit to it.

I will try to address your question/s but I cannot promise if it will be satisfactory to your curiosity:
The teachings of Lord Budha provide that no living thing exists in exclusion. That every creature came about through its “Karma”. Karma can be explained as a complex and undetermined chain of events that at some point may have lead to the existence of a given being or situation.
Take a flower for example; for the same to be found blossoming somewhere and so others to admire its existence, a variety of events would have happened that lead to its being. The chain can be long and complex. In fact very long and only determined by its complex “Karma”. It is in other words, an outcome of its Karma and I think the same applies to all of us.
Having said that, let me make it clear that I am not necessarily a follower of Budhism per se. I only tend to pick what I perceive to be good from various sources and try to make good use of the same. I like to ‘filter’ a lot and ask myself probing but self-critical questions, in order for me to arrive at a self-satisfying outcome. It is indeed a habit anyone could and should learn as we live our lives that we may improve and better our attitudes towards the living world. It is but a never ending lesson.

Let us “talk about nothing” for in there sometimes we may find something. This is a Board we all like to share, views or opinions even if it is just to dare.
Some may have their talents, others may just have their experience. A few may possess special knowledge but all are here that they may share.

abdulmoteI think that it was brilliant to start this thread. Here is mine Urgency: Pass 12 Bills in next three weeks or else...Here is an opportunity that Mr. Ruto and other rebel MPs should not let pass. I think that they should marshal their troops to pass only those bills that they can manage within the given time frame. Should they be asked to extend the timeframe for Parliament, they should refuse given that the rebels have a pending court order to expel them from their party. It would be good for the whole house to stand dissolved that have only 5 or 6 MPs sent to a by-election. Just a mad view

THE PAKI REPUBLIC DOES ONE ON THE HINDI REPUBLIC!
I found this hilarious and I want to share it with Jukwaaists who may have missed it. I was alerted to it by a Kenyan in India.
President Asif Ali Zardari [Mr. 10% during his wife's tenure as president] recently appointed Hina Rabbani Khar to the ministry of foreign affairs. This is the land of the ultra-conservative Talibhan and various al qaida affliates, so this is important. She is female and she is 34 years old and she looks like every man's wet dream in that part of the world. Marital status unknown. Then she descended on India on tuesday 02/08/11. And here is a taste of the commentry in leading indian blogs and papers:
The normally evil paki republic has unleashed a new weapon of mass distraction on our Sikh-led India. She is 34 pure years of eruptive beauty and 60kg or thereabouts of luscious splendour. Foreign minister S.M Krishna [79] and premier Manmohan Singh [?] nearly fainted at her appearance, and, had this paki godess had the presence of mind to ask them, they would have blessedly signed away India's nuclear arsenal! To which god must we now pray fo guidance? When she arrived in Dilli [Delhi], even the skies saluted her with a monsoon welcome!

It was “just a viewâ€. Standing alone with no strings of thought attached. The above post was my way of expressing my simple perception of my fellow Jukwaa members and active contributors herein.
Sometimes we may feel unnoticed or other times generate a barrage of stinging criticisms. It can become easy to get confused, feel challenged or even underestimate one’s valuable comments we all like read. It is indeed our beloved and the only Jukwaa we so much like share!
Others have their audience in public rallies, conferences and even funerals, where mourners attend to bury their dead amidst their sobbing hearts and dripping tears! We have our Jukwaa where many strive to learn, to share and to enjoy their presence, without exploiting others’ pain and tragedies for self gains and that is Kenya for you.
We talk of cultures but good cultures we do not promote neither are we aware. Egoism seems to be the guide and trophy many seem to desire. It is but a natural instinct, so primitive and foul yet many struggle to ignore or stay apart.
Jakswanga I say no! To be praised or recognised is not to thrive on one’s ego for it is not self-declared. If it makes you feel good, then enjoy the feeling for you would have earned it if I may dare!
And no to B6, “the wedding†it never was nor is it about to end. Jukwaa is almost my second home, for every day my presence I have to spend. Occasionally I post my mind, many a times I don’t respond in kind! Threads and posts are in abundance, so much said and so much is shared. Mine are few, otherwise by now I would have been a ‘Vintage’ and that indeed can be seen.
Jukwaa is one of my very important windows into Kenya, my motherland I so much miss and I care. How I wish I was not so tied to others, who my life they circumstantially restrain, I would have loved but to wholly be there.
This is nothing from me but ‘just a view’ I would like to share.
Karibuni.
