The fellow does not seem to have a home for himself and has to recant the story or go on the streets. Which Luo man wants to leave such opulence for Phil's Kisumu ndogo? headteacher,I thought I knew all stereotypes about my hommies and I self! but this one of implied genetical propensity toward pimping, gigoloism and parasitism is fresh to me. Sawa, I read Jukwaa to be surprised and to marvel at the fathoms of intellectual insight! But is it the depths of my own flash of insight unto your bottomless prejudice that surprises me here??

Jakaswanga, the tabloidisation of Jukwaa? It's more like reality check time for most Jukwaaists. How often do we read on this blog that ODM is the most "progressive" party in KE. Then you get this alleged incident of an assistant minister who has put her male spouse in hospital in a most retrogressive manner. It has to be discussed as we did the Kabogo matter. Any public figure should be ready to have their lives scrutinized by the press & indeed the public.
Also just as nature abhors a vacuum, I abhor a monopoly. ODM reigns supreme on this blog so I cherish cutting them down to size once in a while.
Einstein, if indeed the mnazi angle turns out to be gospel truth, my advice to Mr Masha is drop the "commoner" Yokozuna brands & take up Phil's (Kisia not Phil of Jukwaa) "high-end" whisky!

I must come back to this thread for i have being thinking about how quickly it was wiped beside as a market gossip or tabloid sensation. Rather I would welcome a prominent persons alleged Domestic violence to be an opening to a public discussion of a big problem in our Kenyan society – within the high-end or poor societies. I wonder no one has gotten it that this man is domestically mistreated. He has asked the men surrounding him if it’s also a problem in their Home “when the first thing their wife says to them in the morning is “YOU HAVE FOLDED THE TOWEL WRONG!”, ( and not what he would probbly love to hear) “good morning dear, did you have a nice rest?” Mrs Ongoro contacted, gave an excuse that the Husband was drunk and that’s the reason he fell the stairs down. This household has a classic pattern of an engineered domestic violence. Where does Domestic violence start and end? For me it starts when a Couple has no respect for each other. When they are constantly putting each other down by showing muscles of power; “you didn’t fold the Towel Properly, I can do it better than you and hence you are not good for me, Umbwa wewe!” And he in turn like many other men goes to drink himself to get the guts of answering her attack back. For me, this is a ripe Domestic violence case. And where does it end? It's up to the couple to take responsibility that they have got a domestic problem, and then look for a way of solving the problems that lead to the domestic violence and if that doesn't work take consequences...there is a Saying, "Better an end with horror than horror without an end.

Kasuku, if you are to believe the spin meisters on Jukwaa a progressive party like ODM cannot have a spouse beater/abuser in its ranks.
Gender Based Violence is very real & like many things in life cuts both ways. Sweeping incidents under the rug won't make the problem go away. In fact, that encourages it to continue silently.

I don't think the man is happy being referred to as 'E. Ongoro's husband' doesn't he have a name? b6k, domestic violence has no place in a civilized society and the aggrieved party in this case Mr Ongoro (or is that her maiden name) should look for help if indeed there's any truth to the story. what exactly do you want ODM or anyone to do when the man himself denies being thwacked? strip Ongoro of her parliamentary seat? There's a reason why some matters between spouses are called private family affairs and should therefore be treated as such unless the victim chooses to go public or in case the children are the victims.
