After looking at all these pictures of Post-Mubarak Egypt and the loss to life and property, I just keep wondering if the Arab spring was ever good for the Arabs or it just provided an opportunity for the west to have regime changes?
Secondly if Cairo is now looking nearly like Mogadishu only that it is not Al Shabaab, would there have been peace under a dictatorship?

I have never quite understood what it is that makes cop or military person this kind of brute - it is as if their job is a personal thing. Now here we see them ganging up over downed defenseless light weights, clobering them with rungus and kicks, in the head and everywhere. Do these people socialize with civilians at all, or why this insencitivity to humanity? Does the world realize that this is terrorism in uniform, courting ununformed terrorism?

a hawkish member of my round-table drew my attention to this dastardly act which as amnesty international and even the egyptian court points out,is criminal.wondering why hillary clinton has not spoken out with the same vigour as she does on syria killings. Samira Ibrahim, who says she was humiliated and tortured by the military, flashes a victory sign after the court ruling in Cairo yesterday.
