UHURU KENYATTA, MAINA NJENGA AND NJUGUNA THUO: THE MUNGIKI & ICC FALLOUT UNRAVELLINGOn October 1, 2011 the Nation published this photo of Uhuru laughing with the known criminal, Joseph Njuguna Thuo, at the Hague. The Nation photo caption specifically identified Thuo in the gray shiny suit. The photos were sent to media houses from The Hague by Lawrence Maingi, Uhuru's official press photographer. Team Uhuru quietly asked the Nation to remove the picture from their archives. (These relevant images and stories have already been sent to the ICC – OTP (Ocampo & Bensouda) & Victim Rep. Morris Anyah by lawyer, Paul Muite). On the other hand, the Star newspaper had this image (below)with an accompanying explosive investigative story – exposing the link between Uhuru Kenyatta, Maina Njenga, and Joseph Njuguna Thuo, and the latter’s assassinated business partner Bonface Njenga Mwera. It is the latter Star coverage that has rattled Uhuru Kenyatta who has in turn rushed to the Constitutional Court to try Censoring the newspaper. Star editor Catherine Gicheru and Regional News editor, Joseph Olweny, failed to clean their newspaper archives of the pictures (& story) as per Uhuru Kenyatta’s demand. The Star reported again that on April 25, a PNU minister close to Uhuru also called their Political Editor Paul Ilado and requested that these pictures should not be published again. The Star has maintained coverage of the story – prompting Uhuru’s legal offensive. Take this to the bank – the latter’s move is exactly what will make this story grow legs and wings, all the way across the Atlantic Ocean. What did Joseph Njuguna Thuo say he was doing with Uhuru at the Hague? That’s quite important. He clearly said he went to seek Uhuru’s help to achieve his political dreams within Kiambu County. I partly believe Thuo’s account up to this point. The question is – Thuo can’t seek such help from a stranger! A prominent Kenyan (Deputy Prime Minister & then Finance Minister) doesn’t just give audience to a stranger with such humongous requests. Uhuru Kenyatta must be someone Thuo knows quite well; someone he can personally approach and vice versa. But more importantly, this Hague venue of Uhuru and Thuo’s meeting raises serious questions that must discomfort Uhuru – hence the latter’s filing of a Constitutional Court case against the Star newspaper. There must be some sentimental connection with Uhuru’s criminal case (at the ICC Hague) that drives Thuo to choose it as venue to raise his political requests. Was Thuo somehow involved in the activities Uhuru Kenyatta is being charged for (at the ICC)? Was Thuo involved in covering-up Mungiki’s role – partly through witness elimination? Was his presence (& credentials as an assassin) around Uhuru also meant to serve as a warning to potential witnesses - think WITNESS INTIMIDATION? And in all this – what was in it for Thuo? There must be a quid-pro-quo. Was payback going to be in political endorsement? These are questions that will definitely interest ICC’s OTP and Victim Rep Morris Anyah. Thuo has partly told us what was in it for him – Uhuru was to help (bless) his run for office in Kiambu County. Are folks surprised Uhuru Kenyatta hangs around this criminal called Thuo? Are folks shocked Uhuru was planning to impose this criminal into leadership within Kiambu County Assembly? What is the common denominator between Uhuru Kenyatta and Njuguna Thuo? Isn’t it found somewhere in the criminal underworld of Mungiki? You bet!MEET JOSEPH NJUGUNA THUO AND HIS COLORFUL CIRRICULUM VITAE (CV)• Spent 6 months at Kamiti while facing serious charge of robbery with violence in 2005 • Has been previously charged with murder, robbery with violence, impersonation of a police officer, illegal possession of a firearm, extortion, among other serious charges. Thuo has been close to Mungiki leader Maina Njenga, and is claimed to have offered some sort of legal advice to the latter in the past • Thanks to Star’s investigative report, Joseph Njuguna Thuo apparently extorts money (in mafia or Mungiki style) from Asian and other businessmen in Thika, Ruiru, Juja, Gatundu, and surrounding areas. In many of these instances, he impersonates a police officer • Thuo operates this criminal enterprise under the guise of a formal real estate business called Thuo Investments; in which he partnered with former Kiambu County Chairman, the late Bonface Njenga Mweru. Think about this - a purported cop and a County Council boss actually made a perfect tag-team to extort from businesses within Kiambu County – especially those that owed arrears on council or land rates and other levies • Suddenly, Thuo’s business partner Mweru is assassinated – a murder in which Thuo is currently being investigated for orchestrating. Thuo then says he sought Uhuru Kenyatta’s endorsement to enter into the Kiambu County Assembly in Uhuru’s backyard (likely replacement of Mweru) • Thuo is still under CID investigation in the murder of his business partner Mweru, who was shot dead by armed men on June 1, 2011 in Githiga. Central Province AP boss Joseph Keitany said the killers rode in a Silver Prado Land Cruiser belonging to Thuo and used a Ceska pistol (common among undercover cops). Nobody including Thuo has been prosecuted in the murder • Former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga has publicly claimed that Thuo was sent to assassinate him over matters related to Uhuru Kenyatta’s ICC case. Thuo was actually accosted by Maina’s bodyguards at a Church compound with a loaded Ceska gun (the same type used to kill Mweru). The Ceska pistol connection in assassinations is becoming clear. This is not a movie – but a true life account of horror and death • Maina Njenga is now himself in court facing serious charges while Joseph Njuguna Thuo is free to go around threatening journalists, editors and the Star newspaper organization. The longstanding criminal Maina Njenga, has apparently fallen out with his former criminal allies - Mungiki defacto BOSS Uhuru Kenyatta and handyman Njuguna Thuo. Are the CID pretending to be investigating former Mungiki spokesman Njuguna Gitau's daylight assassination looking at Ceska guns and their wielders like Thuo? • Uhuru Kenyatta is meanwhile headed to the Constitutional Court to stop further publication (& reporting) of his links with Joseph Njuguna Thuo whose company he courted at Hague. Uhuru claims the Star is engaged in “hate speech” which particularly “violates his right to a good reputation”. Just the thought that this red-eyed, table-banging, angry, panicked and vicious man accused for the most heinous crimes at the ICC imagines becoming Kenya's President is mind-boggling. Even his lowly friend Thuo has the temerity to actually threaten to kill Star journalists and even destroy their premise along Waiyaki Way. How audacious! • Somehow, Uhuru Kenyatta thinks reputation is something you can principally buy through the media or influence through the courts. If he can censor the Star newspaper, he thinks, his reputation would remain intact! Thuo on the other hand thinks he would threaten the media into total silence - as he is wont to effecting in the Thika/Ruiru/Juja environs • Internal Security minister George Saitoti was expected to issue a statement in Parliament over the identity of Thuo. What the heck happened?

"Internal Security minister George Saitoti was expected to issue a statement in Parliament over the identity of Thuo. What the heck happened?"
Did you really have to ask that just after I'd finished my "night-cap"? Never mind; you have asked a clear and direct question, and I shall give you a clear and direct answer.
This is Kenya. Nothing happened. What's more, you are the only one who probably cares. Our attention span is about 2 weeks---4 weeks at the most---unless a new and really juicy bone is thrown in to upgrade the mix.
A video is made of an unarmed man being shot in broad daylight by a taxpayer-funded security type. There is a case in court. The security man is let off on the questionable grounds that the number on the rifle he has differs in one digit (crudely erased). The magistrate doesn't ask who in the security forces had the gun that fired the fatal bullet? What the heck happened?
One major corruption scandal after another. A lot of noise here, a lot of noise there. KACC leaders come and go. We wake up, remember some really old ones, and ask, What the heck happened?
We plan this, plan that, our man into State House, blah blah blah and in 3020 we will wake up, look at Vision 2030, and ask, What the heck happened?
From East to West, North to South; small people, big people; this, that, and the other, ... it's as if this life is Take 1 of the real life people will have in Take 2.

Businessman wannabe Thuo already confessed being part of a plot to eliminate Maina Njenga. Instead of addressing the concerns of the crowd especially on the threats to Maina Njenga's life, the ever blundering Kenya Police are already defending Thuo 'as a licenced gun holder' and this is something no one has asked them. Here's an image of Thuo with his alleged co-assassin after their cover was blown. They were lucky to escape with their lives after this ordeal. A Nairobi lawyer Paul Muite (red and dark shirt) tries to calm down worshippers who were trying to lynch a policeman (dark blooded shirt) and a businessman (white T-shirt) who entered the church armed with a pistol. (Photo by Collins Wanzala)
A police officer in civilian clothes and a businessman were beaten up in a Nairobi suburb by church goers after entering a Church belonging to former Mungiki Chairman Maina Njenga purporting to deliver a special message to him (Njenga) while wearing hidden pistols.
Thuo who claimed to be a close friend of Uhuru Kenyatta the deputy Prime Minister and a businessman confessed, at the Church that he had information that a squad of 18 Police Officers from the dreaded General Service Unit (GSU) had been formed to eliminate Njenga.
According to Njenga’s Personal Assistant Francis Mwangi, Thuo had earlier called to inform him of his willingness to pass an important message to which Njenga replied that Mwangi could go to the Church and meet him after the Sunday service. Thuo presented himself at the Hope International Ministry Church today (Sunday). When he arrived Thuo acknowledged that he was a licensed gun holder and was carrying a rifle which made Njenga`s followers at the Church doubt his intentions and called the Police.
But the Police who responded to the distress call were unlucky as they were also roughed by Njenga`s followers who claimed that they (the police) had fake Police Identification cards belonging to women. “How do we trust this Police when their identification cards are reading names of women? Don’t you think they are together with this man (Thuo) and they were want to cause deaths here?†asked a bitter Njenga.

job & others,This whole mess has come home to roost. It is the elephant in Uhuru's closet. I think those who advise Uhuru may not even be qualified to be cooks in the house of the real BOSS. You just don't mess things this badly. You can see how muthamaki followers here in Jukwaa are tongue tied as the king walks naked in the market place. What we now know is that Uhuru took Mungiki to The Hague. I don't know if this was supposed to send the message to the witnesses particularly the ones with Mungiki background or if it was just a foolish oversight. Don't forget that one of the folks in close proximity to Uhuru at The Hague was Denis Itumbi also in the picture and this is the guy who has been hounding alleged witnesses. His activities has included hacking and/or providing e-mail accounts of witnesses and displaying alleged correspondence from the same. Itumbi has also been providing pictures of alleged witnesses and doing all the dirty work in the witness intimidation business. Then we had that circus of Itumbi allegedly being arrested by Kenyan police for his activities and the whole thing turned into a stupid joke. It is obvious that Uhuru's hitman Mr. Thuo works very closely with the NSIS and elements in the police force. We know that because when Thuo went to Maina Njenga's church with his loaded gun evidence emerged from his cell phone that the cops were calling him most likely to know if his mission was done. By that time the Maina boys had disarmed Thuo and were in possession of his cell phone. Thuo venture into the Maina Njenga church was soon followed with the arrival of armed under cover cops. In normal situations when cops are called because of a suspected criminal situation they don't send undecover cops. They send uniformed cops or even tactical teams. As we know Thuo was quickly exenorated by police who readily offered the info that he was licensed to carry firearm never mind what he was doing with it in a church. We also know that the very serious allegations against Mr. Thuo issuing death threats personally and by e-mail to Star reporters have not even bothered the cops. So all that speaks for itself. It is also quite telling that as Uhuru's (Mungiki linked) hitmen were chilling in the public auditorium at The Hague, the other Mungiki Lewis Nguyai was singing like a bird on the witness box presumably to clear Uhuru's name from Mungiki. Nguyai told the court how he was busy meeting Mungiki operatives at Jacaranda Hotel almost on a daily basis going back almost a decade ago and how all these Mungiki chaps expected him to pass info back and forth to the BOSS. In all these what we see is a person with deep links to very murky and dangerous figures. We how those desperate elements want their BOSS to move in at State House where he already has immense influence literally dictating how Kibaki runs the remainder of his term. If they think all these will endear them to the Kenyan masses they are in for a rude shock. It is coming.

Uhuru Kenyatta associates with thugs. It is easy to see. Lewis Nguyai testified very clearly under oath how he acted as liaison with Mungiki for the boss. Now we witness a gangster friend of UK, Thuo, and his criminal past.
What are we supposed to think?
These thugs cannot be trusted with leadership. They belong in jail.

The problem is that when people get desparate they start making silly mistakes. Thats whats happening to Uhuru.
He wants to eliminate all those who might witness against him. This has been the modus of operations in Kenya. It's been alleged that Biwott eliminated more than a dozen witnesses in the ouko case. I don't how many mungiki youth have been eliminated after January 2008 but I'm sure many have been killed to protect the muthamaki.
Biwots cases were done cleverly but muthamaki is going about it in the most primitive manner. He is dealing with complete dunderheads like Thuo and Itumbi. I wonder where his brothers and sisters are? Can't they help him out? By the way, I was shocked that none of Uhurus siblings accompanied him to the Hague. Where was Muhoho? If they gave their brother the right support perhaps he would not be hanging out with the wrong crowd.

Generally, criminals have no sense of loyalty so long as a higher bid is offered/floated. If Uhuru offers a Mungiki PEV-insider $$$ X while the OTP proposes witness protection and subsistence that amounts to $$$ X+1 ; your guess is as good as mine which side the Mungiki insider will go. The fact is - Uhuru can't satisfactorily pay up all Mungiki participants of PEV (the kind of figures they demand). This is the genesis of all these silly plots...ranging from murder, intimidation, and others. Trouble is - they can't eliminate all of them. Some will obviously sneak through the pores to the "other side". Again, even those who stick with Uhuru like Nguyai may do more damage than help at the witness stand.

But it works for everybody: newspapers are sold, and the unthinking public gets to enjoy the sort of "juicy" stories it uses as a distraction from a miserable reality.

So, this man is hired to kill Njenga. After considering all the possible places and times, he decides that broad daylight in a church is best. He has NSIS people to protect him after the killing, so it is clear that there are a lot of people, with a lot of resources, involved in this plot. And they all decide that the time and place is .... I like this story. And Jukwaa, for being a conduit for the detailed truth. Please toboa some more.

I find it hard to believe that Thuo was going to assassinate Njenga at the church - that would be a suicide mission. How did he expect to get away with it? Some details are missing... unless this Thuo is clinically insane. Thuo is insane alright. I mean a guy who walks into a newsroom and directly issues threats saying he can send goons, his words, to bomb out the newsroom and he also dip an editor of the paper in a drum of acid to make him disappear must have a few loose nuts somewhere in his head. I also don't think Thuo was walking to the church to pull the trigger and kill Maina Njenga point blank although these guys have done worse things. They (cops working with "good" mungiki) shot two guys they were trailing right at the heart of the university of Nairobi campus in broad daylight and took off. The killers have never been found. Here is the story and ask yourself one question. If they can do this and get away with it, what can they not do? Here we go: www.frontlinedefenders.org/node/1836What is very likely is that Thuo was trying to set up Maina Njenga for something and the sly guy was steps a head of him. It makes no sense that this close ally of Uhuru was so concerned about Maina Njenga that he took it upon himself to go warn him. The whole thing ended in a fiasco and I think we are going to learn more when Maina's case comes. Thuo will feature in that case and facing Paul Muite who knows the trickeries involved Mr. Thuo better be prepared. The gist of the story is that with these kind of dangerous and partly insane characters with a record of killing people like rats, Thuo's words, hanging closely with muthamaki it is not suprising at all that muthamaki is facing a charge of mass murder and rape of Kenyans. That is the kind of thing that the Thuos of Kenya are very good at. It all adds up very well and now they want to move to the big house which Kibaki is warming up for them. Now that will be show time for the Thuos and their buddies.

The news article portrayed him as a thug worse than the vilest mafia operative, he claims".Someone should tell Uhuru that is the image he has created for himself and through his actions and it is not a creation of the media. The media certainly did not force Uhuru to take Thuo with him to The Hague. Worse still the offending photos were taken by Uhuru's own photographer who sent them to the media. What was the media supposed to do with the pictures? But really this lawyer is just making tons of money basically making Uhuru look even worse. Look at the words they have used. The news article portrayed him as a thug worse than the vilest mafia operative, he claims". Non need for a lengthy back-and-forth. Let's simply consider the facts. Against Mr. Kenyatta: crimes against humanity of:
•murder (article 7(l)(a)); •deportation or forcible transfer (article 7(l)(d)); •rape (article 7(l)(g)); •persecution (articles 7(l)(h)); and •other inhumane acts (article 7(l)(k)).Not even the vilest of the vilest mafioso can offer a competing charge-sheet and accompanying indictment. And it's not the most promising CV that a presidential candidate ever offered the voters.

There are people who seek out Jukwaa for information, but they can easily see through a raft of ODM propaganda...!

There are people who seek out Jukwaa for information, but they can easily see through a raft of ODM propaganda...! Kamale,So let's try this. ODM got Mr. Hitman Thuo to go to The Hague with Uhuru Kenyatta. ODM then took pictures of Uhuru with Hitman at The Hague. Within no time ODM had sent the pictures to media houses in Kenya. Then ODM decided to send Thuo with a loaded gun to Maina Njenga's church to cause a fracas. Before the dust settled ODM sent the now notorious Thuo to the Star newsroom to issue vile death threats and more. Now ODM has asked Mr. Kenyatta to file a case against the Star for defamation on account of the offending picture claiming it makes him (Uhuru) look like "a mafia operative", their words. Really? I think the picture speaks for itself, doesn't it?
