Parliament has launched investigations into the discrepancies found in the Exchequer Accounts for fiscal year 2007/2008 in which it's believed that the treasury misappropriated SH 98 BILLION!
Let's hope this wasn't a computer error, personally I believe such investigations shouldn't be carried out by parliament because of the obvious.
....I BELIEVE IT WAS A COMPUTER ERROR!!!

How did this escape the eyes of our one and only Mwalimu Mati of the Mars Group?
It's about time we paid close attention to the Auditor General Reports and I hope Mr. Ouko will not let someone sleep on his reports.
Maybe it's too early to jump into conclusions but Kimunya/UK must come out quick and explain some stuff.

Mars Group first published on this issue in April 2011 and eventually submitted on the same before the Budget Committee of Parliament in June 2011. Read what they said here: blog.marsgroupkenya.org/?p=2565 The new inquiry results from Mars Group's pressure and John Mbadi's persistence. He first demanded a statement on the revenue accounts in April 2011 and it was Minister Githae's failure on 15th May 2012 to explain revenue discrepancies from 2007-2008, which caused the Speaker of Parliament to order the establishment of a Joint Committee Investigation into the Status of Revenue Accounts of the Government of Kenya - see Hansard here: blog.marsgroupkenya.org/?p=2981

Thanks Jonah, It must have passed me! I admire Mwalimu Mati & the work they're doing at the Mars Group. I'm just surprised how parliament is handling some of these reports. It's hard to achieve anything especially when you're dealing with people with no integrity at all. Our MPs are a failure to the nation.
