But do you say!
Sorry, friend Otishotish, that I can not resist unearthing this thread once more, solely for the purpose of hanging out the CJ’s head to dry. The guy’s head needs a drubbing believe me, though I have of course heard Kenyans tell, that from the way he wore girlie earings, it is his other quarters which ever needed the hammering. Well, he sure has a habit of going to this parleys where he is hammered any which way.

Actually, bwana Otishotish, Kenya was the furthest thing from my mind today in the morning. The Asian Frau with a perfect showcase of God’s innovative sculpture, and a delightful sense of dress to suggest it all, froze my mind when she smiled at me. She never does, and I noticed the mock curl of her lips as she noted I was nonplussed by her hand on my shoulders.
‘’Dogs like me are honest animals. They hide not their salivations!’’ I explained myself.
Anyway, what she wanted was to be accompanied to the Oriental college, where a Malaysian political scienties of Chinese Origin had been flown over to shed light on the events in Thailand this past two weeks.
It had escaped me, but apparently there had been a coup in Thailand! www.economist.com/blogs/banyan/2014/05/military-coup-thailand That Yingluck Sinawatra is quite something. When Obama paid her a call when she was still in office, the chemistry between the two was so electrifying Asia went wild, declaring that, after all, Obama had lived in Indonesia and developed a real appreciation for the best women in the world!
(there is some disagreement in Asia whether best Asian girl means Thai, or Malay, or Chinese, or Javanese, or Japanese …, but there is not doubt about the consensus in Asia, that all divine women come from Asia. When you are in Sweden I have no doubt the consensus is they are Swedish, and when you are in Buganda, be sure the Baganda do not call their women women, but goddesses. Women are non Baganda females!
But take a look at Hussein and Yingluck! They are an outright smash hit! You can not script this.
During a chronology of the coup, the Malaysian told us the military heads had gathered the Judiciary heads, and secured their compliance. This would help them get the nod from the King whose blessings a Thai coup must have.
THE MILITARY HAD MET THE JUDICIAL HEADS AND SECURED THEIR BACKING!
It was late in the afternoon when this other lady had thrown me a comforting bone with: ‘’what other things do honest dogs do which I might need to know!?’’
To which I responded: ‘’dogs have taboo-less tongues which wag as they lick anywhere!’’
We thus parted at a promising point and I went to browse a bit. And that was when the news exploded inside my head. DAVID KIMAIYA HAD BANNED DEMOS IN KENYA!
The days of section 2A were back! Then I went over the lecture I had just left, and remembered the lesson from Thailand, that the army had co-opted the Judiciary into their coup. I went to scour the net for the itinerary of Kimaiyo the last week. Who had he met, over what and where!
It was an easy hit. Only yesterday, the security guys now banning maandamanos and kamukunjis, had met Top honchos of the Judiciary!
BINGO!
Me says Mutunga and his geeks in gowns had okayed the lurch back into the dark days! I have not heard them protest, and I await their legalistic gymnastics to explain their position!

Police have cancelled with immediate effect all political rallies and processions until further notice.
Inspector General David Kimaiyo said Tuesday the ban is in line with the Public Order Act, chapter 56 Laws of Kenya.
Announcing through his twitter account Mr Kimaiyo said: “I have cancelled all political parties rallies until further notice due to security reasons.”
"Criminals may take advantage of such gatherings," he says.
The Public Order Act regulates public gatherings and states in the first subsection that ‘No person shall hold a public meeting or a public procession except in accordance with the provisions of this section.’
The IG’s directives come in the wake of Cord’s rallies in the city that have been preparing their supporters to welcome their coalition leader Raila Odinga on Saturday.
The former Prime Minister was scheduled to address a rally at the KICC grounds on arrival.
On his part, the former Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka was set to address a political rally in Mathare on Wednesday to drum up support for the opposition candidate in the coming by-election.
'RALLIES WILL GO ON'
Cord has said the scheduled rallies will go on as planned, terming the ban as a cowardly act by the government.
Addressing a press conference outside the IG's office in Nairobi soon after Mr Kimaiyo's order, Siaya Senator James Orengo said the ban was an attempt by government to introduce dictatorship similar to what happened in the 1990s.
Former Deputy Speaker of Parliament Farah Maalim said they would hold a rally at Uhuru Park on Saturday, since they had been told that the planned Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) venue had already been booked.
The press briefing was also attended by Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula.

The Nairobi County Commissioner Njoroge Ndirangu who chaired a crisis security committee said the decision was arrived at following an assessment of the prevailing security situation in the capital. He argued that the County was not in position to host major public gatherings in the city because most of the security officers were deployed elsewhere while others were lined up for march and parades during the weekend. In a statement after a closed door with security chiefs at his Nyayo house offices, Ndirangu said the county wants to focus on a safe secure and successful madaraka day celebrations marking their achievements over the years.

Dozens of politicians and leaders are detained at army camps. The most prominent hostage is Yingluck Shinawatra, till recently the prime minister and the youngest sister of Thaksin Shinawatra, a former prime minister who was ousted in the previous coup, in 2006. An army spokesperson has said that they do not intend to keep Ms Yingluck, who is being held at a camp outside Bangkok, for more than a week.
Ms Yingluck and her family have become the junta’s main bargaining chip in a bold bid to expunge the Shinawatras from politics, once and for all. The family’s homes have been raided. Mr Thaksin’s son was arrested on May 24th, held overnight and released the next morning. Mr Thaksin, a telecoms-tycoon-turned-politician, awoke an electoral giant with populist policies he introduced in 2001. In three incarnations, his party has won every election it has been allowed to contest. It was banned in name, only to be formed again under another. There appeared to be no real threat to the party’s dominance over the polls, unless it were to be destroyed by force, or democracy itself were brought down.
Robert Amsterdam, Mr Thaksin’s lawyer, has said that Ms Yingluck and other leaders are going to establish a government in exile.
The NPOMC has issued summons for 35 intellectuals and activists, calling on them to report to the army. The junta has set up a special unit to monitor social media. It issued a separate summons for Pravit Rojanaphruk, a prominent journalist and commentator. Mr Pravit, who is also a harsh critic of Mr Thaksin, wrote a line on Twitter before making his way to an army base in Bangkok: “On my way to see the new dictator of #Thailand. Hopefully the last. #freethailand #Thailand #ป #รปห”. The Thai media have been summoned to report to the army at 2pm on May 25th, to discuss their post-coup coverage. Some foreign sites have been blocked too: the BBC, CNN and Human Rights Watch for a start. And junta has torn up Thailand’s constitution, a document which its predecessor had written after the most recent coup. The only section still in force is the one that relates to the monarchy.
In most respects then it looks like an old-fashioned coup

Judiciary, top security chiefs set to meet
By JOSEPH MURAYA | May 26, 2014
NAIROBI, Kenya, May 26- As the country continues to enhance its security measures, top judges and senior security officials are set to meet this week for two days to consult on emerging national security issues.
During the meeting, they will discuss appropriate security responses within the context of the Constitution and international human rights law.
The Thursday meeting will be addressed by Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph ole Lenku, Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko and Chief Justice Willy Mutunga among other key stakeholders.
The meeting aims to explore international human rights and counter-terrorism, which sometimes seem at cross-purposes, and demonstrate that they should be properly viewed as complementary as envisaged by the Constitution.
The meeting comes amid allegations of the Judiciary sabotaging police work through release of terror suspects on bail, who either escape or commit other crimes.
CJ Mutunga is scheduled to meet top security officials early in the week to agree on the structure of the meeting.
The meeting will be held at the Judiciary Training Institute (JTI) in Nairobi.
“First, to have a robust conversation with other stakeholders about our respective roles in national security and the protection of individual liberties; and second, to explore appropriate frameworks for thinking about these issues within a judicial process that respects and promotes human rights while increasing human and national security,” the JTI director, Justice Prof Joel Ngugi said while noting that the overriding aim of this conversation is two-fold; security and respect to human rights.
JTI facilitates judicial education, research on issues pertinent to the administration of justice, and robust and constructive stakeholder engagement.
