The book launch was a thud as expected by many of us. This from those who attended telling yours truly--and not all necessarily Corded folk. Nothing more to say about that. Omwenga:Did you know that when you called me, earlier on Saturday, February 16, 2013, I was still at the Pan Afric Hotel having just attended the book launch. You told me you were somewhere in the Rift Valley with the Prime Minister. We exchanged pleasantries. We agreed that you would call me in a couple of days when you were back in Nairobi. Had you bothered to ask, I would have told you that the launch of Kidneys for the King held at the Simba Room on Saturday, February 16, 2013 attracted a capacity crowd. You know the size of those rooms-holds about 200. They stayed till the end where Miguna engaged them in a lively, civil, robust Question and Answer session with several participants identifying themselves as supporters of Raila Odinga. The media was there. It ended peacefully without incident. At the event, in the course of endorsing Uhuru Kenyatta, Miguna made a point of drawing attention to the fact that "my friend Onyango Oloo supports Raila Odinga." Neither Oloo nor Miguna was lynched due to their respective and contrasting Presidential preferences. It is important to be FACTUAL. Onyango Oloo

I know you enjoy reading the extraordinary outputs of the likes of einstein and phil on Jukwaa --your word for it you told me so! But I ask myself, is it because you like to study what vermin minds look like? Phil says you and Miguna are launching yet another book, but you are not listed as co-author, nor producer so far I have gathered. And then that counties promotional tour he informs about in gleeful mockery. Why vermin like this are in the employ of Raila's ODM is likely the reason Raila found himself in Homa Bay, in the same situation you and Miguna found yourselves in Kisumu! --ducking irate mobs! Phil logged into Jukwaa just to taunt Oloo with this? Phil is pure vermin. Of late, I leave the spinning to the incomparable Ori, Omwenga. At least he is ready to humour us with the various shades of the reliability of his sources.

For reasons best known to himself, Miguna continues to drag in the very serious matters of the PEV/ICC. We'll get to that in a day or so. Right now I thought I'd try to understand the man by reading his first book. With the help of Google, I quikly acquired an electronic copy. (It is the publisher's camera-ready version, so it is interesting that the version is out there.)
I quickly scanned it, reading randomly selected pages, planning to do a thorough read later. It appears that Our Hero is one of those who read BIG BOOKS and quote them without really understanding them. Given Our Hero's behaviour, I was astonished to find this on page 242:
As Sun Tzu says, “it is the unemotional, reserved, calm, detached warrior who wins…”

Every citizen has a right to give his opinion but if he really wanted to help Kenya he could have as well sort leave to institute private criminal prosecution of his former boss. Obviously he has nothing just viral verbal diahorrea. Personally I think it is a waste of time listening to this guy. Sounds more like a jilted lover who tries to pretend to have substance lakini hana kitu, empty debe, let him make his money while the opportunity exist.

Otish,
Reading and even writing about some philosophical thoughts is not the same as practicing the said philosophy. I dare say that actually practicing such philosophies is a different game altogether. That is why frequently those who are at the fore front of preaching some good philosophy, the moment the taste their first ride in a flagged limo and saluted by uniformed armed men, that is the time they start speaking in a different language!
But you know what, I think meeguna did actually try to put his learned philosphical thinking into practice! Did you notice his cover portrait in his Kidneys; His eyes were extra ordinarily 'sleepy', perhaps responding to his director's prompts of "be relaxed but have a serious calm look for the camera"! Bravo! we have a cover portrait.
Sorry, did you say he wrote something by Sun Tzu? Lets have a look again.

Phil, To keep himself relevant to the detractors of RAO, Miguna should be be encouraged to write more books on the same subject now that he pulled out of governorship race. Otherwise, he will cost Jubilee alot of votes if he go out campaigning for Uhuru. I pity this man! This time Miguna has confirmed what we said here when he published the first book. Miguna has been at meetings with Uhuru and his handlers. Miguna has met with TNA honchos and some high ranking individuals in Office of the President. They have met at TRIBE HOTEL and also at a private office along valley Road (opposite NPC). He is being very well compensated, so at least he can feed and educate his children. That sudden holiday Miguna took with his family to Canada, where they put up in a school dormitory, was a mission to visit his bank. Off-shore remittances are easier to hide. What a loser this fella Miguna is!

It shows you have no faith in your publication and its disgraceful assertions.I really sympathize with Miguna. It's a pity he opted to take you along, yet again! I will be back! Phil:Is Onyango Oloo listed as a CO- AUTHOR of any of Miguna's books?Where does the "you guys" come from??? Were you not the person complaining bitterly, not too long ago, when some Jukwaa members falsely imputed that you are an EMPLOYEE of ODM merely on the strength of your political sentiments you express on this forum? Was I not the person who rushed to your defence? If you must attack Miguna, do so on the basis of verifiable and irrefutable evidence. Dragging my name into it does not advance any argument. I really hope we do not sink again to that noxious abyss we sank to in 2012 over Peeling Back the Mask. Onyango Oloo

Nereah:I have been waiting restlessly to " know the depth and reaches of the rent seeking anti-railophobics."Please don't be like the leaders of that unfortunate Yahweh cult which keeps threatening Kenyans with the their end of the world doomsday rants. Onyango OlooIt’s no surprise that Miguna is embracing Raila’s opponents www.nation.co.ke/oped/Letters/No-surprise-Miguna-is-embracing-Railas-opponents/-/440806/1696852/-/hv1fwm/-/index.htmlHaving read the then “shocking revelation” going by the name Peeling Back the Mask, I do not find it surprising that one Miguna Miguna is at last embracing Mr Raila Odinga’s political foes. I believe that Mr Miguna’s “villain” (Raila in this case), is being unfairly subjected to cruel retribution. Mr Miguna has accepted that his current “darling” is a villain as well, and I quote: “...although Mr Kenyatta’s coalition is not the cleanest, it is less tainted than Mr Odinga’s and has the biggest chance of winning the March 4 General Election”. He goes on: “I’m going to back Uhuru Kenyatta in this campaign. I want Uhuru to give Odinga a thrashing.” That surely sounds just as it is: vengeance. Mr Miguna has time and again shared his disappointments regarding Mr Odinga’s “betrayal” over the Attorney-General’s post he was purportedly promised. From the tone of his voice while launching his Kidneys for the King: De-forming the Status Quo in Kenya, I do anticipate even much more vengeance. As much as Mr Miguna might be saying nothing but the truth, I would have bought his “candid” sentiments if he had exposed them while still at the Office of the Prime Minister. I do find it hypocritical to hit out after they crossed paths. If Mr Odinga and Mr Kenyatta are both villains, neither should be embraced. CHERUO LEVI CHEPTORA, Saboti

www.kenyan-post.com/2013/02/raila-is-drunkard-corrupt-and.htmlSunday February 17, 2013 - Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s political spinner, Miguna Miguna has revealed that Raila Odinga is a regular drunkard who drinks more than Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta. In his book Kidneys for the King: De-forming the Status Quo in Kenya, Miguna describes Raila as a hypocritical village leader who drinks silly especially when he goes outside the country on official tours. “Raila drinks like a fish, he drinks more than Uhuru, I know because I worked for him,” Miguna stated on his book which he launched on Saturday at the Panafric Hotel. The book which is a sequel of Peeling Back the Mask depicts Raila Odinga as a drunkard, corrupt and illiterate leader who cannot be trusted to lead a great country like Kenya. In page 279 of the book, Miguna alleges that Raila asked Mvita MP Najib Balala to part with Sh 2 million bribe to be made Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) chairman. “I will make you Chair of ODM but you must give me Sh 2Million" Raila said to Balala who rejected the offer. On the issue of 2007-08 post election violence, Miguna clearly states that the idea of arming the youth with pangas and arrows was approved by Raila Amollo Odinga adding that 41 against 1 was also his idea. “Not withstanding the denials by ODM, they conceived, devised and executed a 41 against 1 in 2007" Miguna said. More of the book to follow….

More of the book to follow…. As I have stated in the past, whether in gutter press or in Miguna's collection of tales, small and big; bar gossip, innuendo and other equally useless allegations, those who would buy hook, line and sinker all this garbage are those who would not vote for Raila anyway so let them have a blast as sensible and reasonable people make the wise choice in reelecting Raila come March 4, 2013. I have personally been with the PM on his visits in the US and Europe last several years and never witnessed this nonsense about Raila "drinking silly" on those visits. Interestingly, I do not recall seeing Miguna in any of those visits, which means he is not surprisingly making up stuff yet again or merely repeating bar gossip. It's laughable that Raila would offer Balala chairmanship of ODM for a paltry 2 million shillings Raila probably carries as pocket money. Surely even when one is making up stuff to peddle a book, you'll expect them to keep things to at least some believable proportion not outlandish nonsense like this. But again it's Miguna we're talking about who such proportionality is alien to him.

Not so fast, here he is:
Eish! I'd rather you stay with this man... I'm grateful he's campaigning for Ouru.
Thinking beyond the politics of elections, there are other issues Good questions from the moderator: Are you in some-body's pay: considering the timing of the book? Are you hired by someone, on the he ABR agenda? asks the female host. Now, I do not have the luxury of not thinking, as a racist German anthropologist once remarked about the luck of being an African! So I do not shy away like some rat when double Miguna coughs around the playground. So I sat around to listen and do some thinking on his answers and some of his statements. To find out how mad and bad he really has moved since the last altercation. ....But... Here is an example of Miguna's inspired lucidity, which these days mostly seem to hit its peak when he is tearing down Raila Odinga. [Once upon a time, it was the PNU side which was on the receiving end of his scorpion tongue]. People must continue to think everyday ---says Miguna, and he continues .... .... Here is Raila going to the press, claiming Francis Kimemia, Karangi the commander in chief of the military, and DG-NSIS are trying to rig him out. How irresponsible and reckless can you be?. This is the Co-principal, the PM of the country. These are civil servants, his juniors he can just call to his office, and to order by law. Why doesn't he do it? He can also have this discussion with the president. But he goes to the press. This is irresponsible and reckless.... .... A potential commander in chief, an Obama, preparing to take over, can not attack the Chief of the military a few weeks before elections. That would be criminal. Irresponsible recklessness....And further... fumes the Big Mig.... Why do I need to to be paid to say that? Any small thinking can think that out for themselves! When I was critising Uhuru Kenyatta, nobody wa paying me to do that!------------ Now my point is this: any ODM-er or Railette who has done their big or small thinking, can you come up here: 1. Has Raila called to order, using his formal hierarchy of supervisor and co-coordinator of etc etc, the senior civil servants who are still his subordinates, to answer these serious charges, before he went to the press? 2. Has he raised these serious issues with his co-principal Kibaki or not? 3. Would it testify to better management skills, if he had first worked out the OFFICIAL circuit behind the scenes before he hit the press... perhaps then explaining how regular MECHANISMS had failed and why this public hullabaloo, where the PM attacks his senior civil servants, was now justified? 4. On Miguna's posit that an Obama, weeks before the election, must not attack the head of the national military, as that is reckless and irresponsible, does he have a point or is he being clueless himself!? I am thinking bit by bit. And in this, I am not hearing a mad man. Actually, used to brutal intellect punching their weight in political thinking, Miguna needs to be answered here. Otherwise as we say in Luoland, sorry Manofletters, here I go again --like that song by White Snake, mach kimi. --One does not fold his hands on a glowing ember [charcoal-like piece]. That is, Miguna's critique here on the behaviour of the PM is so hot, the PM's minions recognise the incapacity of their intellect to rap their thinking around the proposed problem. So, that is a comet, let it burn spectacularly and colour the sky, then be gone with it and forget it. We are in power tomorrow! What disturbs my sleep, in as far as I am a proud Jaluos, is that, with the Luo intellectual fire-power assembled around Raila's candidacy, men like Prof. Oyugi Akong'o, Dr. Adams Oloo, Prof. Muga, Dr. Adhu Awiti and even legendary Otieno Dalmas, I have an odd feeling that they do not ignore Miguna because he talks nonsense, but because they are clever enough to know that, for instance in the above, it would be intellectual suicide to take on Miguna. In other words, it is the silence of a considered mediocrity. That is, I do not eat truth. Lies pay better! even for a scientist trained to search for the truth! And thinking about that, how many ugly women have I not told they were beauty queens, if the reward would be sex? Telling the truth has its limits, for a man. That is all I am saying! Aah, if only that damn maid had served cyanide to her boss! wouldn't we of the Luo nation canonise her like the catholics do Mother Teresa! b6k, when Oraro does not want to take a case to court, then things are very ma ok yot! ;D I will be back!
