....a group of National Alliance Party of Kenya (NAK) wing of Narc alleged that official leader of the opposition Uhuru Kenyatta had lost their support for the presidency in 2012 because of his alliance with Roads and Public Works Minister Raila Odinga.
Cabinet Minister
Martha Karua,
Assistant Ministers
Njeru Githae and
Mirugi Kariuki and MP Peter Munya claimed they had agreed to support Uhuru for the presidency after President Kibaki. Their sentiments were echoed by Limuru MP Kuria Kanyingi and LDP activist Milton Njoroge. “This has been ruined by his alliance with Raila and he should no longer count on us for support,” Githae said.
The four leaders told Uhuru to reconsider his political stand on the Draft constitution if he expected to receive their support for the highest seat in the land. |
From the Online Edition of the Kenya Times, October 7, 2005Onyango Oloo's Quip:Kwani these MPs from the Mount Kenya region are no longer ashamed to espouse OVERT TRIBALISM? Kenyans are witnessing NARC MPs who campaigned AGAINST Uhuru Kenyatta in 2002, claim that they were going to support him-obviously on TRIBAL GROUNDS- suddenly go through a mind shift because Uhuru is seen to be working with Raila Odinga- the man who said Kibaki Tosha! I predict that the Karuas, Githaes, Mirugis, Munyas, Kanyingis and Njoroges will one day look back in shame at their utterences today.
