for many years, the whites in south africa had one of the HIGHEST standards of living in the world. there are dozens of countries which post very impressive economic growth rates.
but only a demented and possibly inebriated dunderhead on rcb will start crowing with orgiastic delight about a 5% growth rate.
to gauge the true economic impact of these statistics, one has to scratch deeper than the superficial veneer.
one must ask questions such as:
1. how widespread and distributed is the national cake?
2. how many kenyans are living below the poverty line?
3. what is the rate of unemployment?
4.what is the real gap between the rich and the poor? what is the difference between what kibaki "earns" in a month and what his housemaid earns?
5.how many women are poor? how many women are rich?
6.how many teenagers in korogocho can afford to go a movie every weekend?
7.if the police stopped a pedestrian walking home from a kibarua on ngong road and demanded a two thousand shilling bribe what is the likelihood the pedestrian would have that kind of money on their person to part with?
8. how many kenyan families can afford to pay for a coffin on their own without a harambee effort?
please answer those questions before you open your big mouth and empty head.[/i]

Why is Kenya currently enjoying a 5% economic growth rate?
Do they even kno what this means?
