Hello all, Now we know the official Kenyan government's position on the island as stated in the below article from Daily Nation. www.nation.co.ke/News/-/1056/545148/-/u34wy6/-/index.htmlI just have a few comments 1. If Somalia takes the whole NEP due to an 18th century map, will our government leave it to cartographers to iron out the issues? 2. If Tanzania takes Thika town using a 19th century map, should our military let cartographers iron out the issues? 3. I thought policy comes from the politicians of the party governing the country , when did our military start having a policy stand? 4. What happend to sovereignity of a country. I thought we have a pact with our military to defend even an inch of our country against external aggression? Kenyatta did not hesitate to marshal forces on the border when Amin was threatening Kenya, Ditto Moi when Museveni was playing silly. What changed this time around? 5. Do we sincerely have a country called Kenya or is this one big hoax? I remember when Morocco tried to take back 4 rocks from Spain off the coast of Morocco, the EU and NATO invoked their war time principle of defending territory of any of their members and Spain chased Morocco out of thos rocks. How is it different from our rich fishing grounds in that small rock?

Again I blame ODM because they have strength in parliament, local government, half the cabinet posts and a PM but they are too shy and timid to enact any bold action. ODM should vote for sanctions against Uganda and literally block any goods going to Uganda. ODM should have used its strength in parliament to transfer the internal security docket to the PM office. These are my thoughts, but I could be wrong ..

We have a weak commander in chief full stop. I was only a kid but I remmember vividly the military hardware that rolled into Kisumu towards Busia when Amin threatened to annex parts of kenya. Kenyatta and General Mulinge showed that Kenya cannot be threated by anybody. Lakini huyu raisi wenu analala fofofo state house hana habari. While the Generals below are talkning nonsense Ati Generals...go hang

Is this the result of a long Bush presidency where some people think that the solution to any dispute between two nations can only be resolved through war?
When Nigeria and Cameroun had a territorial dispute, they did not go to war - they agreed ton internation dispute resolution and the piece of land was returned to Cameroun without a single bullet being fired!
Kenya and Uganda are in talks on the territorial dispute, and should this fail, there are international institutions that resolve this. I can only imagine the Kenya military being involved when everyone has confirmed that it is Kenyan territory and the Ugandans have defied the international community.
I think that is what the generals meant when they said it is still a matter of cartographers.

M7 SENDS A CLEAR MESSAGE TO UHURUTO: DO NOT PLAY WITH ME BOYS, YOU ARE THE TOYS!www.nation.co.ke/News/Kenya-and-Uganda--clash-over-Migingo/-/1056/1901406/-/kjvrlk/-/index.htmlI am of course too old to take seriously the campaign pitches of politicians wherein they profess determination to gaurd every inch of the fatherland from the foreign agressor. Many a politician, especially in Afrika, gladly welcomes the invador to help him do in his people, even as they issue protestations to the brim with patriotism. And Uhuru Kenyatta, the prince from a family that made it big by the abuse of high public office to plunder the nation's bounties, would be the least believeable as commander in chief protector of all of Kenya's munispalities. Still, by default of his official auspice AS PREZZO, it falls upon him to mouth the necessary slogans, as he goes through the rituals of his high office. E.g to condemn terrorism, to condemn lawlessness, to laud the KDF's heroism in that terrorist den called Kismayo, to assert national dignity which he himself may not feel, and to profess national independence which, even if symbolised by his name, he may have no idea of, nor care to. It is not a new contradiction in history, it is not a new contradiction for a man in power, but there is always room for a little surprise how a [new] specific ruler deals with his specific moment. And so I mull over the options of Uhuru Kenyatta vis-a-vis Migingo.Well, Museveni sure rubbed it in. Telling Uhuruto to mind who the top-dog is in this region, in case they thought they could jump start him with their pan-africanist bull. The sight of Kenyan military personell [or police officers] being disarmed in broad daylight, being forced to undress to their underpants, forced to lie on the sand head-first and nearly suffocate as Ugandan boots press down on their necks, has something comical to a spectating Kenyan public. Usually our armed security forces terrorise us with impunity. They rape in Garissa, Baragoi, Mount Elgon and Tana, and they look like Rambos: No man, no law, no god can stop them. Then they run into a patrol of Ugandans occupying Kenya, and Lo! on their bellies crawling they drink M7's urine and pledge how tasty it is, and promise to send a bottle to state house Nairobi where Uhuruto too, can use it as dinner accessory.yes, I know what the desert served in state house this week will be swimming in: Museveni's urine bottled in Migingo. And the president of Kenya and his deputy will belch as they salute the Ugandan dik flag. Kibaki was of course vintage. He told Museveni to take even Luo Nyanza too. 'They will never vote for me. Good riddance! You can replace your vice President Kony with Raila if you like!' 'No thank you; you can keep your mad Jaruos! I just want the fish!' M7 replied. Me thinks M7 has figured Uhuru Kenyatta is a toy commander in chief. And Gen. Kaguta sure can toy with a toy. Now it is Up to Uhuru to continue being a toy. He had ample practice being Moi's toy-boy, M7 may just inherit him. Our toy president! www.nation.co.ke/page/search/DailyNation/oped/Opinion/-/440808/440808/-/view/asSearch/-/6atu3k/-/index.html

Be it a piece of rock like the most venerated son of the lake said during the campaigns,be it just a mabati shack on an island,Migingo is ours and the acts of aggression by the M7 boys is testing our patience to the limits.Even if we have a toy President as Jakaswanga(The waragi swigging veteran)tongue in cheek says ,even toys have their owners! The Government needs to rein in these frequent acts of aggression from a supposedly friendly neighbour.
The day the people will arm themselves with crude weapons including fishing hooks to run the illegal occupants out of the Island is the day you will hear the Government voice their position on this thorny issue that is at the heart of our people.

Just a rock, ha. Who said that, Omundustrong? If that person has any authority, I am willing to pay a few bucks for that rock as a sharpener for my knives and other tools. Surely, if its just a rock, they should be interested in my bid.

Mank,it was said by none other than Agwambo during the Presidential debate. No wonder no efforts were done to confront the problem during that time.

Agwambo said the most stupid thing any adult should say. Even Egypt thinks we shouldnt use the waters of lake Vic because it interferes with their Nile water, Huhh
Even Somalia takes Kenya for granted.
By the way, such strategies are very good for M7 coz he can now suppress any opposition and boast to them that "If I can control and dictate to our neighbours, then who the 4ack are you?" And the strategy has been working real good for so many years.
