We arrived in Casablanca on Thursday morning and drove straight to the Rabat offices of the Maghreb Social Forum which had invited us to attend the Prepatory Assembly for the Maghreb Social Forum gathering taking place in June this year.
I am writing these lines in a cybercafe in Bouznika, a little resort town about 40 kilometres from Rabat.
I owe all of you a description of the Casbah, Medina and Souk of Rabat as well as the political insights I gleaned from observing the commercials on Moroccan television.
For now, let me continue rubbing shoulders with the Algerians, Tunisians, Moroccans, Mauritanians, the sole Senegalese, the solo Zimbabwean and my other Kenyan compatriot.
Most of the morning we have been huddling in informal groups chatting about the ramifications of the Hamas victory in the Palestinian polls...
By the way, the Prepatory Assembly commences at 4 pm Morocco time...
