The Kenya Times fancifully fabulated: www.timesnews.co.ke/12jun06/nwsstory/news1.htmlAnd here is the POLICE RESPONSE TO FALSE ARTICLE BY KENYA TIMES Our attention is drawn to a deliberately fictitious article carried by the Kenya Times today that purports to ‘quote’ the Commissioner of Police speaking on the deportation of foreigners last week. This is extremely disturbing considering that the Commissioner of Police has not commented or addressed a press conference beyond the official statement issued by the Police Spokesman. It is shocking that the Kenya Times can invent and fabricate an imaginary story that never happened. Kenya Times needs to explain the basis of this fictitious article and particularly ascertain: • When and where these remarks were made. • Why it is only the Kenya Times that got such information. While the Kenya Police supports factual and objective media coverage, concocting fictitious and imaginary articles is both unethical and irresponsible journalism. The management of Kenya Times may wish to ascertain from their reporter the source and motive for such blatant fabrications. Source: www.kenyapolice.go.ke/News26.asp
