Ha!!ha!! ofcourse Kenyans were expecting this ruling and that is why When Kibaki appointed a list of AG, CJ e.t.c Kenyans rejected it ;D 2. now ICC can see the far reaching hand of impunity& corruption in our court systems to day.. that is the last proof they needed.. Ocampo 6 will never be tried in the Kenyan court system.. UHURU KENYATTA, RUTO & CO will be tried and jailed at the HAGUE ;D LET KIBAKI, UHURU & CO KEEP GIVING THE COURTS ORDERS ON HOW TO HANDLE CASES.. SOON KIBAKI WILL BE ON THE DOCK ON CORRUPTION, IMPUNITY AND ESPECIALLY THE POLICE SHOT AND KILL ORDERS.. SOME IN THE PNU INNER CIRCLES SAY.. UHURU & RUTO ARE RUNNING THE COUNTRY.. KIBAKI IS TAKING ORDERS FROM THE TWO... BLACK MAIL!! IS IN THE OFFING.. TO NAME HIM AT THE ICC AS PARTNER IN CRIMES...

If Hon Ruto was a PNU Member of Parliament, he would have been elevated higher up in the Ministerial hierarchy in Cabinet.
Given that he is ODM, I hope that the PM will do the honorably thing and keep him away from a Cabinet position

Hahaha.
This was not totally unexpected and predictably Kamale cant hide his excitement because anyone opposing Raila Odinga becomes his best friend regardless of how may skeletons they have in their closets.
I will wait to read the judgement of Magistrate Muchelule before making further comments.
KPC and the state can of course appeal the decision.

I am happy that Ruto is free and did not end up in jail for the poorly presented evidence by Wako. Jailing anyone on that evidence would have been a travesty. Our anger should be directed at Wako for the shody job...that is all I can say.

Some of these cases take awfully long due to some delaying tactics from the defence. Eventually there's a "call from above" giving directions on the ruling. Too bad if you happen to be on the wrong side of the powers that be. At the moment, Ruto is singing the preferred tune, no chances of the big wigs whipping him to shape. Oh dear! What a banana republic we live in! Moi was right after all. Kenya ina wenyewe... mtazungushwa milele!

Just jail the man!!!

I think the judgement says it could not convict on the evidence presented. This is a serious indictment on our system: even non lawyers could see the shoddy presentation of the case and the magistrates nonchalance. All designed to lead to acquittal.
And yet we all know that public money was paid to private pockets for public land. It is just like Goldenberg. Same result.
This case is useful enough: it can be used as evidence of the fact that Kenyan courts and the judicial system cannot or will not catch any big fish. The ICC should look at this as a good precedent. How a seemingly open and shut case is destroyed by the system.
As for politics it helps to remember that this is an old case from 2004 (shame on the system!) brought on by the Kibaki system, it was claimed, to get Mr. Ruto. However, whatever the case, it was based on a real crime.
I salute Job for his focus and educating us on the progress of this matter.

This one was a non-starter, all politics and nothing tangible. We now want the real thieves in the Makaburi and Water scandals to be brought to book. Hiyo tu.

Nobody in Kenya will ever be convicted of corruption. Anybody who doesn't know that already needs to have their heads checked. Kenya will never convict wenye inchi on anything from mass murder to corruption. May be ten years down the line. Thank god we have The Hague on the PEV issue. At least the truth is going to come out.

political maturity would be for the party Ruto presently belongs to, to congratulate him on his legal victory in a duely constituted court of law of the republic of Kenya. It does not have to be honest, but who is it who wants to mention honesty and kenyan politics in one sentence?

Have Kenyans forgotten that Joshua Kulei at some point wanted to repay the money he was allegedly acquired fraudulently?
How comes he has been cleared as innocent.

Whatever Raila supporters feel about Ruto is justified on an emotional level but they need to be consistent. When the judges ruled against President Kibaki's appointment, justice had been done and now there is no justice, just dry cleaning, you either allow the judges to decide all the cases brought to them or not, not cherry picking.
