Wakuu wa Jukwaa,At a time when the PM together with his entourage are busy trying to seek business ventures for the well being of all Kenyans, these individuals are busy hatching plots to satisfy their over-inflated ethnic egos. This alliance has me wondering how these egos will be contained therein. Kwanza they have already 'selected' Kenya's President for 2012 and the V-P to boot. One wonders how Kalonzo will take this relegation, after literally pulling Kibaki from the abyss after the elections or was it selection of 2007? The 'kwani mta-do' mentallity still reigns out there amongst these frontrunners and low and behold Kenyans will have to accept this thing rammed down their throats. I'm still tryna figure out what is Leader of Majority...the position allocated to the man from Tseikuru? Will he be able to deliver the Eastern vote under these circumstances? Do his people feel slighted that they are once again being made to be 'watu ya mkono' by their cousins from the slopes? This time around how will the 'kati kati' theory play out?....Meanwhile if you ask me, this so called G7 alliance is nothing but the KKK demon trying to dress up as an angel. I believe it is Obama who said during the last campaigns for the US Presidency... "Even if you put lipstick on a pig, its still a pig"We are facing some interesting times ahead nduguzanguni. RUTO WILL RUN AS UHURU'S VP DEPUTY Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta will be the presidential candidate for the G7 Alliance in 2012 and Eldoret North MP William Ruto will be his running mate, according to multiple sources close to the two politicians. Kalonzo has been slated for the position of Leader of Majority in Parliament. The G7 Alliance has now replaced last year's KKK Alliance between Uhuru, Ruto and Kalonzo. The alliance has now been given a broader national outlook by the inclusion in the G7 of Tourism minister Najib Balala, Saboti MP Eugene Wamalwa, Moyale MP Aden Dualle and former MP Omingo Magara. However what has now become Plan A is dependent on the International Criminal Court dropping charges against Ruto and Uhuru. The initial discussions took place between their confidants but Ruto and Uhuru arrived at the informal understanding following discussions over the last month. If the two are unable to contest because of the ICC, Plan B will be to back Eugene Wamalwa for president. They believe that Kalonzo does not enjoy sufficient support to defeat Raila if they are out of the race. They feel that Eugene can pick up enough votes in western Kenya to give him victory with their support.“The opinion polls are not lying and if you look at the way the new Uhuru has been received in Central Kenya and parts of the Nairobi and Rift Valley, there is no doubt in our mind that he is the best candidate," said a senior Cabinet minister close to Uhuru.“This issue has been discussed with people close to Ruto and some of them are in agreement that Ruto should be slotted for the position of Deputy President,” said the minister. Uhuru has been holding rallies in central Kenya where he has been highly critical of Prime Minister Raila Odinga. The latest opinion poll released by Synovate on Friday showed that Raila was still the most popular candidate with 38 per cent support, although down from 42 per cent in December. Uhuru had gained ground from 14 per cent in December to 18 per cent as did Ruto who was was preferred by 8 per cent of the 2,000 respondents, up from 4 per cent in December. Some of Ruto’s supporters are however understood to be quietly unhappy with the arrangement and want Ruto to be the candidate because Uhuru had his chance in 2002.Two weeks ago Ruto told Uhuru to his face during a rally in Bomet that he expected Uhuru to support him this time round since he supported him 2002.In case the current plan to have Ruto run with Uhuru does not survive, another option will be for both of them to run independently for the presidency and consolidate support in their own backyards. They believe that if they both vie for presidency independently, no candidate during the election, including Raila, would meet the constitutional threshold of a simple majority. This would force a re-run where the G7 members will could rally behind the candidate who gained the most votes during the first round, effectively defeating Raila. Uhuru was born October 26, 1961. His initial entry into politics came through his election as the chairman of the Thika branch of the KANU ruling party 1997. He was nominated to Parliament in 2001 by retired President Daniel Moi who also made him Minister for Local Government despite his political inexperience. Moi then single-handedly picked him as his successor in 2002 but he was comprehensively beaten by the then opposition leader Mwai Kibaki. He subsequently became Leader of the Opposition in Parliament and made history in 2007 when he became the first Leader of official opposition to support a sitting president who was seeking re-election. Following the disputed presidential election in 2007, President Kibaki rewarded Uhuru by naming him Deputy Prime Minister and allocating him the powerful Finance ministry in 2009. To his supporters Uhuru Kenyatta is a visionary leader. To his detractors the playboy is a reluctant politician. According to Uhuru, "Growing up in the Kenyatta household taught us many things. My father taught us to treat everyone fairly. He taught us the essence of justice and fairness, he told us to learn from history but not to live in history." The Gatundu South MP went to St Mary’s school in Nairobi and then studied political science at Amherst College, USA. Currently Uhuru is facing charges of crimes against humanity at the ICC following the post election violence. Ruto on the other part was born on 21 December 1966 in Kamagut, Uasin Gishu to the late Mzee Daniel Cheruiyot and Mama Sarah Cheruiyot. He attended Kerotet Primary School for his primary school education then joined Wareng Secondary School for his Ordinary Levels education before proceeding to Kapsabet Boys, Nandi for his Advanced Levels. He then went on to receive a degree in botany from the University of Nairobi in 1990 In 1992 Ruto became the Organising Secretary a Youth for Kanu '92 (YK92), a group that was formed to drum up support for President Moi in the election. In 2002 Ruto campaigned for Uhuru but after they lost to President Kibaki, Ruto tried to take over Kanu. They both later teamed up with Raila and successfully campaigned against the proposed constitution in 2005. Ruto was a member of the ODM Pentagon in 2007 but has since fallen out with Prime Minister Raila Odinga. Ruto is also facing charges of crimes against humanity in the ICC. www.nairobistar.com/national/national/21275-ruto-agrees-on-uhuru-for-president

Meanwhile somewhere in Western Province.... WAMALWA HAS BETRAYED THE LUHYA Luhya politicians have described MP Eugene Wamalwa as a traitor. They claimed, at a weekend rally, the Saboti MP had played into the hands of Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto to split the community.Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi and a host of western Kenya MPs told Wamalwa joining Uhuru's G7 alliance will take him nowhere. He said it is foolhardy for leaders to believe they could unite the country by forming alliances with only seven out of the more than 42 communities in Kenya. The 10 MPs spoke in Busia county during the funerals of councillor Henry Manyasa and former Nambale MP and detainee Christopher Makokha."We must shun such tribal groupings whose motives are only geared towards one individual," he said and warned the G-7 against basing their politics on hatred and witch hunt,” Mudavadi said. Kanduyi MP Alfred Khang'ati said Wamalwa ignored the wishes of Luhyas. “I think Eugene is doing all this to get some money from these people and promoting the Kikuyu agenda,” he said and claimed that Cyrus Jirongo was working with Uhuru and Eldoret North MP Ruto to cheat Wamalwa that they will back him for the presidency. Khang’ati said Wamalwa used his position in the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs and Defence committee to dislodge Moses Wetang'ula as the Foreign Affairs minister. Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba claimed Wamalwa did not vote for Speaker Kenneth Marende during the elections for National Assembly Speaker in 2003 and has been fighting to have him (Namwamba) ousted as the chairman of the Parliamentary Business Committee on Legal Affairs. Attempts by Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo and his Nambale counterpart Chris Okemo to defend Wamalwa was with hostility by mourners. Jirongo had earlier said Luhyas support Wamalwa saying he has high chances of success. He challenged Mudavadi to run for the top job if he is opposed to Wamalwa’s presidential bid. “We are giving Musalia one month to declare if he is interested in the presidency, if not he should be ready to support one of us who is ready,” said Jirongo. Mudavadi said Luhyas on their own cannot vote in a President. He added that he was not out of the presidential race but positioning himself in a better way to capture the seat. He called on Wamalwa to learn from his past experience where he went against the wishes of the community and lost his seat during the 2002 elections. “You can never go against the wishes of the people; Eugene should ask me or Uncle Moody Awori," he said.Other MPS who echoed the same sentiments were Wetang’ula, David Were, Sospeer Ojaamong, Paul Otuoma, Yusuf Chanzu, Oburu Odinga, Wilber Otichilo, Kizito Mugalu and former Makadara MP Reuben Ndolo.www.nairobistar.com/local/western--nyanza/21292-eugene-has-betrayed-luhyas-mps-sayMtazamo:So where will Eugene get the votes to deliver a Presidency for these fellas?...Isnt he just a mere puppet?...I believe the luhya folks have already seen through this ruse and as Mudavadi warns, stuff like that happened to him when Moi made him a V-P with no means. The Luhya folks saw through all that and even denied him the MP's position...achilia mbali eti alikua amefanywa running mate wa Uhuru Kenyatta.

As long as Mudavadi is not going for the presidency, Wamalwa has a real chance and even if Mudavadi went for presidency and UhuRuto supported Wamalwa, you can be sure that the young man will be your fourth president.

Mwalim,
Its interesting they have shown their hands so early. Its interesting they openly acknowledge that that the snollygoster Judas Km is indeed a political lightweight. Its interesting that they acknowledge that the Rt Hon Prime Minister is indeed an elephant, who can only be brought down by tons of arrows, and each mshale represents the interests of these ICC suspects. But I am more interested in seeing how the Rt Hon Prime Minister makes the counter move.
Just how will the Rt Hon Prime Minister, if indeed he is running, wear them down and tear them asunder and render them useless political misfits fit for the dustbins?
I think this opening salvo by kina jomo and ruto is a premature blunder on their part, for now its known who is who in this kei kei kie thing, and its a matter of scheming to find its soft spots and and expose them. Their aim is simple. They want to appear inevitable and hang the aura of winners around their shoulders.
But it aint that simple. Its a marathon and the way these guys ahve been sprinting of late, throwing everything under the sun at the Rt Hon Prime Minister, and hardly making a dent is very telling.

If these guys think picking a presidential nominee is easy wait until the unveiling of the candidate. I still wait to see how they will campaign. If they go the route discussed, I guess that means Kalonzo remains an MP . With the current katiba the way its written, you run for prezzo at the risk of losing MP. So if the goal is to split Raila's votes - he better not win second round or else there will be a lot of people out in the cold. Also as Kibaki has shown, just because you helped, does not mean you are remembered when the spoils are divided. Eugene might help to split the vote by running for prezzo but once he is left out - as he surely would - he should not expect to get anything, same with ones who run to help Uhuru.
This is going to be fun, seeing who they decide to run and the reaction of the respective communities.
Alliances baaado...

MM, the Ghoulish 7 haven't even come clean on the party they represent. They have no ideology to speak of that unites them other than a common "enemy". I doubt whether this alliance will last the long-haul. August 2012 is still a lifetime away.

Do you have any idea of what you are talking about? Let's come back to reality, this is Kenya and not Uhuru or Ruto's bank account my friend. If people of Kenya voted according to the wishes of Uhuru and Ruto, then certainly it goes without saying Uhuru would have been president in 2002 and the 2010 referendum would have ended with a victory to the NO side. Would the Kikuyu, for instance, vote en-mass for Wamalwa with Karua, Kalonzo and Odinga also on the ballot paper? Can the younger Wamalwa, who lacks the charisma and experience of his older sibling Kijana, manage even 10 of the counties in Kenya, let alone the minimum 50% as required by the constitution? I dont know what you smoke sometime but clearly it is having the better of you and your utopian dreams.

Is anybody helping me love the mooted union of thugs? This should be the gift Kenyans were waiting for and I do not want to see any protests because it’s a good thing.
Finally all our bad eggs are in one basket. What remains is to do the right thing and hit the basket against a piece of rock. By defeating this amorphous group we shall be halfway into redeeming our countries image in the world.
So it’s UK for president and Ruto for VP. But before we start organizing an election with the duo on the ballot paper, we will have to seriously negotiate with Ocampo to set them free from the heinous crimes they are accused of. Will the ICC accept that? I don’t think so.
Even though their first alternative would have been the best in terms of getting rid of bad eggs, I do believe that they must move to plan II directly because the first won’t work under the current circumstances.
Both amigos are being very clever. Ruto believes that Uhuru will be locked up and Uhuru believes the same about Ruto. This according to them, will leave one with the others supporters to help win the presidential elections. I, however, think that both are going down.
This leaves Kajudas for VP and Wamalwa for President with the support of the Ocampo left overs. Or vis –a –vis .
But again this team (Uhuruto) has relegated Kajudas to the position of majority leader. In otherwords Kajudas name is not going to be in the ballot paper. Sounds great before one looks at the man’s ego which is a big as Mt. Kenya. For the man to surrender to Uhuruto will take a miracle. But what the hell is a majority leader anyway? The constitution states that (1)There shall be a leader of the majority party and a leader of the minority party. (2)The Leader of the Majority Party shall be the person who is the leader in the National Assembly of the largest party, or coalition of parties. (3)The Leader of the Minority Party shall be the person who is the leader in the National Assembly of the second largest party or coalition of parties. (4)The Leader of the Majority Party and the Leader of the Minority Party shall enjoy an official status above that of a Cabinet Secretary.
I don’t know what would entice Kalooser to the above? And does anybody in right mind think that Kajudas will agree to be a second fiddle to Eugene in the absence of the O-2.

Cap 10 - Political Parties, Part IV (Formation, Registration and Regulation of Political Parties), Article 13 (Instruments of Coalition) 13. Where two or more political parties resolve to form a coalition before or after an election, the instruments of the coalition agreement shall be deposited with the Registrar for the purposes of arbitration between the coalition parties. www.kenyalaw.org/kenyalaw/klr_app/frames.phpThe proposed bill has included a 3-month time-line for doing the above before an election or a 3? or 2?-month notice of intent after elections are held. Another article further proposes that a registered member of a party who defects must do so three months in advance of any elections if they hope to run in the said elections or subsequent by-election or they will be automatically be disqualified from the race because they shall not have met the provision of being a member of the receiver party for at least 3 months. Now, if the 2 tailors of the naked emperor are not slain by Ocampo and are cleared to run in 2012, how will they will wiggle out of this one? Ruto is an ODM member Uhuru is Kanu member... Will this be an ODM/KANU/ODM-K coalition or an entirely new party? Who shall deposit the instruments of the proposed coalition on behalf of ODM? KANU? If the instruments will not be deposited then they have the option of defecting three months to the elections in order to be eligible...this I am waiting to see...who will dare? As for Wamalwa, aka cook, aka watchman for the tailors of the naked emperor, he will fall back to reality with a mighty thud...remember Kombo and Kituyi campaigning for PNU day and night in Nairobi and Central, even forgetting their own constituents? On to another obstacle they need to surmount; where will this proposed arrangement get enough MPs, Senators, Women's Representative to make Musyoka the majority leader of either house he will be elcted in? When push comes to shove, who among the aspiring governors will want to cast their lot with the clowns this circus and risk being overtaken by a sober and serious contender? This will be a major gamble for anyone who will dare... of course they will have die-hard supporters but when the dust finally settles and the prospective Governors and Senators arise, the reality of the new political dispensation and the PPA will finally dawn on these clowns/tailors of the naked emperor... Kenya has changed, thanks to the new constitution... Let them bring it on... I wait to see their proposed move...

Why do you ignore the little thing in this country called the 'new constitution'? It is rather obvious that if UhuRuto support Wamalwa, and Mudavadi runs as Raila's running mate, we shall have a rerun. That is where things get elephant for the Raila-Mudavadi ticket. What reason will central and RV for instance have voting for Raila-Mudavadi? What reason will Western have voting for VP Muda at the expense of president Wamalwa? What reason will the rest of the nation have voting for a tired mzee at the expense of a fresh and energetic youngman? Remember McCain Obama? Some of these things are very simple to read through BW Phil, you dont need any dose of anything to see through them. To me ODM has no choice but to look for another candidate if they wish to win, otherwise game over.

PM, for a minute I thought you were addressing the other fake guy and I had to do a double take to make sure you werevaddressing me. Kama vile usemavyo, this animal is a marathon and these guys are playing their cards way too early and in turn alienating the guy from Tseikuru. As Mzee opined , I believe Uhuru thinks Ruto will be locked up by Ocampo, while Ruto is thinking vice versa. This has been made even more clear by the fact that Ruto has rubbished the number 2 scenario by saying he is gunning for the Presidency on a UDM ticket. So the cracks have started emerging...remember I said the egos of these guys is just too big?...Kwa ufupi here you go: RUTO TO CONTEST PRESIDENCY WITH UDM Eugene Wamalwa and William Ruto during a rally in Amutala stadium In Kimilili on Sunday Photo/John Nalianya ELDORET North MP William Ruto has formally announced that he will vie for the presidency on a United Democratic Movement party.Ruto said he and his close allies had agreed that UDM is their best option to win next year’s elections. They plan to make a mass exit from ODM and join the party that currently has Cabinet minister Hellen Sambili as its only MP. “We will link up with other like-minded leaders and parties from across the country so that we can give Kenyans genuine leadership next year,” Ruto announced. Yesterday the Star reported that some of his supporters were unhappy with an informal deal where Ruto would be the vice-presidential running mate for Uhuru Kenyatta in 2012. Some close allies led by Konoin MP Julius Kones insist that Finance minister Uhuru should instead back Ruto.“William Ruto campaigned for Uhuru Kenyatta in 2002 and we as leaders from the Rift Valley feel that it is now payback time. We will demand that Uhuru support Ruto,” Kones said.He said that Rift Valley leaders have already approached Uhuru's and Vice-President Kalonzo Musyoka's camps to seek their support for Ruto’s candidacy. “We have already held several discussions with the other camps and will continue to lobby on behalf of Ruto,” said Kones. He revealed that the G7 Alliance was considering two options in arriving at the single presidential candidate including the formation of a single political party or entering into a pre-election coalition arrangement. “If the leaders agree on the first option, then they will all have to disband our parties and join one party. However, should it be more appropriate to maintain the party identities, then we shall enter a PNU-like arrangement,” he said.Kanu secretary general Nick Salat said it was time that Central Kenya supported a candidate from another region. “Our brothers from Central have a tradition of voting for their own. ... ....But this time they must prove otherwise by supporting a person from outside their region,” Salat said at a funds drive in Kipkorir Salat Secondary School in Konoin Constituency at the weekend. Salat is however not considered a pro-Ruto supporter. Ruto's desire to use the UDM may be cause a hitch as Gen John Koech still claims to be the party chairman despite a coup in November where he was replaced by former Kenya National Union of Teachers boss Joseph Chirchir, a close ally of Ruto.Koech, Ruto's former close confidant, still supports Prime Minister Raila Odinga.Koech has filed a case with the Political Parties Tribunal to have his replacement rescinded as unconstitutional. The case is expected to be heard this morning by tribunal chairman Peter Simani. Koech’s lawyer Mugambi Imanyara said his client should be reinstated as the UDM chairman until his term of office expires in 2013. If the tribunal rescinds the decision to sack Koech, Ruto and his allies may have to look for another party. Speaking at Kapsowar in Marakwet yesterday, Ruto said several "bottlenecks" had been placed in the way of his presidential race. “They started with the maize scandal which I overcame and then they moved to the corruption case which has been dismissed. Now they are using poll violence cases. I trust in God that I will be proved innocent,” said Ruto. International Criminal Court Chief Prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo has repeatedly stated that his decision to charge Ruto and the five other 2007-08 post-election violence suspects was based on his investigations and not local politics. The Ruto group was optimistic they would retain their hold on the UDM and were making plans for a relaunch of the party and the establishment of branches countrywide. MPs present during the meeting included Saboti MP Eugene Wamalwa, Marakwet West MP Boaz Keino and Jackson Kiptanui from Keiyo South.....very telling... ;D www.nairobistar.com/national/national/21411-ruto-to-contest-presidency-with-udm

As Titchaz posted above, this is about to get really interested. The poltical class maybe speaking the same language of power grab, but they have yet to sell it to their followers who are still trying to figure out why their guy is not #1. Might we see Uhuru - Kalonzo instead with a goal of realigning after the first round, if there ever is one? As for Eugene - tuwachie hapo, he reminds me of the rich kid in school who no one could stand but yet pretended around him because his dad was rich, and so "haisuru". Kalonzo did not squeeze himself between the two for nothing though - he can smell ICC spoils. It is not that the 2 have to be convicted - there is the time factor, how long it takes to prosecute that would not allow for running for prezzo, and that is what kalonzo might be salivating about.

Titchaz, Even before the dust settles there is already a tag of war. We said it right here on jukwaa that these selfish guys will have difficulty in agreeing on a common leader. So what happened to the brotherhood.
It goes without saying that the anointed one from Kiambu will not give room to the man from Rift Valley. And if he did so, it would spell death for the so called KKk alliance.
Truth be told only a few kikuyus would ever vote en-masse for Ruto for presidency. Not because he is a none kikuyu but because of the crimes he supposedly committed against them. He killed, raped and maimed the same people he expects votes from. Ruto should first and foremost forget about the kikuyu “diaspora” votes. These are the people who still have scars from PEV madness he allegedly orchestrated and many are still out there in the cold. I think this is why the ever clever Ruto has roped in Eugene Wamalwa. He hopefully expects to get some few votes from Western province to cover this huge loss in the former Rift Valley Province.
Should he however strike a deal with the KKk to become Uhurus number two then a huge a sizeable chunk of votes will be cast away from this alliance. The Kalenjins have not forgotten the animosity that led to PEV. Besides, those land issues that led to PEV have not been resolved. Mostly none kikuyus IDPs have been ignored. Even fake IDPs have been settled before none kikuyu IDPs. I don’t think that these people would just vote for Uhuru.
The best alternative would for each and every one of these guys to go it alone and agree to form an alliance after elections. But this won’t satisfy the big egos and none would like to be left out
Shifta, Kajudas has seen blood and is going for the kill. This man has been doing all manner of stupid things to complicate things of the Osix. He is having a ball. The more Ocampo pulls the proverbial hangman's rope on Uhurutos neck the more ecstatic kajudas becomes.

When that political parties bill gets on the floor of the house, you will realise how bad our parliament can be. Every possible selfish amendment will be made to the bill and on that one Only Kibaki can save you by refusing to assent the mutilated bill! Predictably the political parties bill has been watered down by our (bleeping) cabinet even before it reaches parliament.
