Ladies and gentlemen of Jukwaa.
I have just realised that I am now officially one of the 'Vintage' members of our prestigious Jukwaa forum! And in marking this occasion which has taken me some good, entertaining and informative six years, I would like to invite all honourable members to help me nominate a candidate to be awarded the title of JUkwaaist of The Year!
With the award, I hereby commit myself to offer a token reward of some fifty pounds sterling or equivalent thereof to the winner! More if possible if circumstances allow. I may even consider a runner up prize with time to come.
Here is the criteria:
Nominate a Jukwaa member who in your opinion and through one’s commentary contributions, has been a good analyst, informative, consistent, self-moderating and overall respectful poster! Number of posters or age of one's membership is not to be an issue.
Feel free to share your thoughts on your nominees within this thread and try to be honest about it.
Decision will be made, either by myself or in consultation with others yet to be decided, by the end of a three weeks period!
OO, this is my expression of gratitude towards Jukwaa’s existence and its friendly but also exceptional membership and offer my apologies for keeping you out the loop in this regard as it were.
I will be of course not be qualified to be nominated if at all I stand any chance of the same!
All are welcome!

Miguna too is a good candidate...how many Tusker baridi bottles can that $ buy You should not be nominated to pocket the same money out of your pocket.. you made an offer to present an award of $$ to deserving jukwaa members, you are disqualified ;D

For me Job takes top prize (Most times I have nothing to add to his spot-on incisive analysis of issues) Adongo is second Phil is third
Wanyee is the most prolific poster (Titanium issue), PM takes the award for fearlessness and telling it like it is, Jakaswanga for imagery. Kamalet takes the prize for consistency in defence of PNU.
And OO is a superb Admin, making timely interventions and running a tight ship.

first lets have some fun I would like to invite all honourable members to help me nominate a candidate to be awarded the title of JUkwaaist of The Year! abdulmote ever since the new constitution came about, we now dissect any information with a toothcomb! in this statement you now have to define the discriminating factor "honorable" also see closing comment below. from this i gather some members are honorable whereas others may not be so/as honorable and therefore ineligible to nominate i proceed to declare the following as honorable ...... and the following as dishonorable ...... With the award, I hereby commit myself to offer a token reward of some fifty pounds sterling or equivalent thereof to the winner! that "equivalent" part is causing me instant nightmares Here is the criteria: Nominate a Jukwaa member who in your opinion and through one’s commentary contributions, has been a good analyst, informative, consistent, self-moderating and overall respectful poster! Number of posters or age of one's membership is not to be an issue. Feel free to share your thoughts on your nominees within this thread and try to be honest about it. seems to me you are sending some people off to the hague and leaving a through pass for others aka rigging (blame our competitive politics) ;D Decision will be made, either by myself or in consultation with others yet to be decided, by the end of a three weeks period! no comment but i'll tell you, the only way this will be free and fair is if you somehow rig me into this team this is inconsistent with point one above. we need a new constitution and referendum for this thread .... == anyhow jokes aside and for the serious part 1. i think this is a brilliant initiative 2. the use of money/cash/fiscal gain as an incentive for good performance is one of the most fundamental problems facing kenya today and we need as jukwaa to provide alternative to this for instance how can you really price some of the golden contributions by select members here on very hot topics? and if you put a price on it, doesn't it in fact cheapen the product by making it sellable? yes we must value and reward effort, but we must find an even higher ideal so that true value outlasts fiscal or monetary reward. its for this reason that professionals have relinquished due diligence, ethics and professional responsibility in the search for monetary gain (see number of buildings collapsing and other tragedies such as fires, road carnage, etc). in short, am a little leery of monetary reward. that quick reaching into the pocket for a cash reward is taking us downhill IMHO. otherwise this is an awesome initiative. and for those handful that may even conceive such a notion, i would like to respectfully withdraw from any such nomination.

reporter, hope it was a typo error to put kamalet in the same sentence with the other names you suggested . as for me, I would nominate job/OO/Phil for position 1 what do you mean? ERROR? lets be fair here, without Kamalet's fiery contributions on here engaging in lively debates on most topics posted here, and yet allowing some fun interaction with other members...while at the same time debating serious issues that affect us all.... why doesn't he deserve an award like any other member? please explain ;D

It's no contest! My nominee would be Job. You can't vote for either Adongo or OO as they are administrators & therefore part of "the establishment". The big shots can share the advertising & "hits" revenue. Let Job take the peoples prize.

My Fellow Mombasa Ex-Resident:
Salamu Kwako.
Interesting initiative.
Perhaps you should use the Jukwaa facilities to organize a SECRET poll to allow people to vote more freely.

Job, some of us rarely post here (due to the nature of our jobs), but man, you are top top top there. I distribute your analyses to my staffmates on a daily basis and they are amazed at the brilliance. You get my vote!

Job now looks like Arsenal down at number 8! Lol! He's the peoples choice. In no particular order move him up to at least number 3. There's no such thing as no particular order when you have a number 1 on a list, Jaber.

Mrembo
You threw me off guard with rating me as second. Am Honored sister.
However, I have a difficult in rating Individuals here, being that many here are intelligent and leaders in different topics. Like you Mrembo, you have attracted my attention because of maturity despite your age (hope you aren’t a Teacher?) so…
- Youth: Mrembo - Intermediate: Roughrider - Men of Wisdom: Job & Adongo

I am one of those who hardly writes in jukwaa but a daily reader. For me there is no contest, Job is a run away winner. His posts has always been a must read for me followed by Adongo.

Rather than offer a cash prize to a Jukwaaist, I'd prefer you offer to donate the cash prize to the winners choice of charity organization in Kenya. Fact is 50 pounds is not much for any of you guys here but will mean a lot to a reputable charity in Kenya. All interested in the vote may be requested to donate to the winners pot. It could be anything from $5 going up. You just might end up with over $500... which can be donated to a Kenyan childrens home or the like (winners choice). OO, not that you care but think of the publicity.
PS. While at it, why not have a category of worst Jukwaaist... who is fined $50 and must pay towards the winners pot remain in Jukwaa.

Amigos, I am sorry for the ladies of Jukwaa, Oloo has to cast the Jukwaa net wider or you have to dope if you are to be competition to the testosterone levels here! Because, If you ask me, Job runs away with this one pants down! [Yes, that is right, I saw myself nominated for raucous and eroti-innuendoistic imagery, so pants down conforms to profile!] Job brings a diligent academic fury to the blog which is distinguished. My caution is daktari should gaurd his independence of thought and mind like a nun guards her chastity anywhere. It would be a pity if he were to lapse into an ODM battery! NB: I still sadden when I think of Mbugua Waweru [the one who used to reel out spellbinding comments on citizen radio early in the morning. All radios in range would be tuned for ten minutes to him. Then the referendum of 2005 came, and he went on the take and thought Kenyans could not ferret him out! They did and however hard he has tried to come back, it is a no do. [Same story was told of Ng'weno and Opanga] Kamalet I would vouch second. No one on Jukwaa matches his creative abilities to offer a different implication of the facts! And not at all implausible! And sometimes he is what a pacemaker is to a world record breaking star-studded olympic long distance race. A mental pillar of Jukwaa he Kamlet is. PS. While at it, why not have a category of worst Jukwaaist... who is fined $50 and must pay towards the winners pot remain in Jukwaa. Oh you devil Lincoln! I must be getting real old, with weak bladders and the rest. This one cracked me until my bladder let go and my pants went wet! I nominate Lincoln for Jukwaa's Razzie award!

Abdulmote, Please organize a secret ballot as oo suggested. It takes only a minute to do so. Then we will all vote freely and fairy. It's rather archaic as it is now and the results might be Samuel Kivuituish.
You could even introduce categories
