Okay, another debate will surely open up in regard to Africans and cremation. I can already smell that from miles away. Someone in a different forum was questioning Wangari for lifting the bible with her left hand when she was being sworn in as an Asst minister back then (For heaven's sake I still can't figure why she was never made a full cabinet member and had to share office with one adorable illiterate called Kalembe Ndile!).
If cremation was her wish, let it be fulfilled. Hope there won't be any speeches by politicians in Uhuru Park where the public will be viewing her body. Let them not stick their noses anywhere near with their crappy sermons. Boo them to the sea if they try one of their tricks.

I was watching this clip when Wangari Maathai was being recognised by NAACP in the US, I had forgotten that she was on the Airlift students courtesy of the late . Tom Mboya and President John Kennedy...

prayers from numerous religious leaders.
V-P Kalonzo arrives, greets all VIPs by handshake, and skips shaking Hon Charity Ngilu's hand! Gosh, hata kwa matanga???
Uncle Moody Awori also resurfaces. First time I see him since 2007.

On Prof. Maathai's funeral day, at the VIP tent in freedom corner, in front of local and international press photographers V-P Kalonzo Musyoka snubs shaking hands with Water Minister Charity Ngilu. What an imbecile this man is!
Even bitter political enemies Uhuru and Raila were gracious enough not just to shake hands but actually hugged.
I was disappointed Maathai's casket was not removed from the Hearse, though we could see through the windows the hyacinth casket was draped in the national flag.
A member of the family did not address the gathering and there was no mention of Mwangi Mathai (Wangari Maathai's estranged ex).

Phil Citizen TV blamed Charity Ngilu for iniating the snub. Indeed her body language as the VP walked towards her seemed to hint she didn't expect a handshake. Another thing to note about the spat between the two is that Charity was at JKIA earlier in the day to welcome UK home. Hmmm....
Meanwhile RAO's bear hug of UK was exemplary. If anything UK looked like the one who wanted to pull away chap chap!

Citizen can report what they want to but those of us who witnessed it saw very well Kalonzo exchanging pleasantries with Special Programmes Minister Esther Mirugi, who was heartily chatting with Charity Ngilu and Moses Wetangula when Kalonzo arrived. So why handshakes with Mirugi and Wetangula, and not Ngilu?
The only MP present at JKIA international arrivals when Uhuru landed was Beth Mugo, while Jeremiah Kioni was at Unit 3 I think travelling on a local flight. I am not aware of Ngilu going to JKIA to receive Uhuru.

A member of the family did not address the gathering Deeply confusing phrasing there: I thought you meant there was a particular member of the family who didn't address the gathering (whereas other members did); it took a while to see that you meant to say no member of the family addressed the gathering. Avoidable confusion.

Arent they part of our natural vegetation anyway? Bamboo is not considered a tree, it belongs to the grass family. The water hyacinth is a highly destructive plant to our water bodies its literally choking of lake Victoria thus the need to find alternative uses for it. Pretty symbolic I must say....

Kalonzo should not even bother shed crocodile tears at Wangari Maathai's funeral, when KANU was mistreating Wangari, Kalonzo was singing Baba Moi and leaking his boots, they either kept quiet or encouraged the mistreatment she got, lets not encourage such people to think today they can do bad and we will play civil tomorrow.
