In a Standard Online article titled, Who Among These Ladies Will Be Kenya's Next Firt Lady, www.standardmedia.co.ke/InsidePage.php?id=2000047420&cid=4&the paper purports to analyze this question but my reading of it leads me to conclude something more sinister than what the headline suggests. In my view, this is a lengthy dog bites man article I cannot see any good purpose for it other than a deliberate attempt to slight Dr. Ida Odinga, our other First Lady. Business accomplishments aside, Mama Ida has been recognized internationally for her efforts in championing a number of women issues, including for her efforts in the fight against breast cancer, yet the paper did not mention this fact while mentioning those of others less defined or recognized important as they are as well. My conclusion is this omission was a deliberate effort to slight Dr. Ida and shamelessly so I may add for a reputable paper that is better advised to desist from this type of journalism fit only for less reputable and non-mainstream outfits.

"A good example is how Lucy Kibaki managed to cut a profile for herself by getting immersed in various humanitarian activities, which have helped portray a positive image of the first family."From Standard article www.standardmedia.co.ke/InsidePage.php?id=2000047420&cid=4&omwengaYour comments are kinda pathetic to me too. I thought the whole article was a piece of trash. See the quote above. If anybody knows what's good for someone like Lucy Kibaki they'd keep her reigned in so she doesn't do any more damage to the Kibaki legacy. Not to lay all the blame on the woman for that tarnished legacy. Kibaki himself and his other life's partner Wamboi have managed very well to curve out a niche of infamy for the Kibaki Presidency. In any case, who wants to be spoken of in same breath as Lucy Kibaki? She is the perfect high profile example of of what a public figure shouldn't be. Allan Olingo with his silly article leaves us with the kicker eti " Barring a win by Ms Karua, the following women are eligible to become first lady..." Well, I have news for Olingo and Kenyans in general. We need not get tongue tied. Were Ms.Karua to win she'd be the First Lady. How hard was that? And get this, she'd still be president. How much fun is that? Can you handle it?

MukwhasiPlease disabuse yourself of the idiotic notion that a mainstream supporter can cause any candidate an election and more so the hypocrisy that you even care at all to offer such unsolicited counsel you are better advised to keep to yourself. Can you imagine how dumb one would have to be to say "Mr. Odinga. You are the best qualified person among those running for president and I am confident you are the transformative leader our country desperately needs but sorry I cannot vote for your because Omwenga and other supporters worship you." I know we have fools who vote neither their conscience nor convictions but none is that dumb other than in your own mind and the handful who think like you. It would also help to check even as in Google about our other First Lady who is now the holder of a doctorate degree before exposing your level of knowledge here.

"First Lady or First Gentleman is the unofficial title used in some countries for the spouse of an elected head of state" So if believe Martha will be elected as president of Kenya....she will not be the first lady. It is the man in her life (if any) who will be the first gentleman. Not to worry "english came by boat"
