I am always curious to the legitimation of a reluctant act. And only yesterday professor Muigai read me the law! So the professor is as trash as I think he is, or is it just that I rashly understimated the honour lurking in the whisky soaked heart of UK?

Now RAILA will say he was NOT CONSULTED Do you know whether he was consulted or not? The head of civil service is as important as the AG, where they disputed about! And, will we be having an internal vetting process to fill this deadly important post?

phil, ;D your sources were spot on as they were on the kosgey acquittal. and so was the nairobi insider who whispered to me that the son of jomo as politicalmaniac would love to call him, would do the honourable thing before friday.
personally, i have come to believe that uhuru muigai kenyatta will reap the dividends hague or no hague whatever his haters and critics like me make of him. anyone who has a contrarian opinion is welcome to join me, nereah of amadi, in the other running thread purposely meant to ventillate jukwaa's stand on icc carthasis on kenya.

Njeru Githae is the new Finance Minister Haha! I just won a bet! I had put my money on Githae by tomorrow noon! Institutionalised lenders [WB, IMF etc] had informed the Kenyan treasury that no business will be done with UK. It so happens Kenya has at this moment several loan requests [to shoar up the kenyan shilling among etc]. And Ndung'u of CBK has failed to work magic, and was not in a position to tell those bodies to go to hell! UK was dead meat. b6k! the honourable thing! rammed down Kenya's throat once more by caucasian foreigners!

Well, the preasure was too much. When even the Nation says they have to step down. Kibaki and AG would have being left alone hanging on them and that would have being the end of them.
I also guess that Muthaura said he is going and Uhuru could just not stay there alone like a lunatic refusing to vacate someones house. Although Uhuru is arrogant. he has a upbringing which has Diplomacy and he can tune in it any time.

Jakaswanga, from what was said on NTV At Four, the legal team set up by the AG was the one that advised that the only way for the country to go forward is for the duo to step aside. The AG should've had a spine enough to advise Kibaki accordingly without outsourcing opinions. That said, Uhuru remains Deputy Prime Minister. What's in a title? Quite a lot it seems

What does it server UK to remain the DPM without portfolio? UK wants to still sit at the high table and have the privilege of
NSIS briefings and other sensitive matters.

You are right. Uhuru and Muthaura continued stay was untenable. Kibaki's advisors and friends have let him down so many times and even in directing Githu Muigai to announce that the duo would stay on as state officials, Kibaki could still not see this coming given he gets daily intelligence reports and situation assessment reports from NSIS and other advisors. Now, lets wait and see if the grand coalition will survive this. Watch very carefully what Uhuru will say in the coming days. I believe there is a bombshell coming. I only hope Kibaki is prepared for this.

Going back to the bulletin by the PPS and reading it between the lines...What did UK and Muthaura step aside from?...and will they step back? after what? That is Kibaki's way of trying to save face. The fact is that Muthaura is gone for good and Uhuru is also contemplating taking a sabbatical from politics. As for Uhuru, this pressure came from Mama Ngina. She has had enough of this circus.

That said, Uhuru remains Deputy Prime Minister. What's in a title? Quite a lot it seems Isnt it an appointive post? and If so shouldnt he be quitting it as well? That said, this can only be good for the country. Cant believe its all happening, that Muthaura of all people can be moved to vacate office, nad that Kibaki can has no choice but to accept! Thank you new Constitution, thank you JCC, thank you ICC, thank you Baraza and Kerubo ( ;D or what do you say now, Adongo?), thank you EVERYBODY who have fought impunity!
