"Claims that Uhuru and Ruto have no right to vie for elective positions following the confirmation of their charges at the ICC is dictatorship and reminds us of the old dark days,” said Musyoka.

The mere fact that Kalonzo is pleading with Uhuru and Ruto not to see him as an opportunist is bad enough. It is like a thief caught red handed in the market screaming I am not a thief. It is bound to be a fruitless effort. If Kalonzo was not an opportunist he wouldn't have to be begging Kenyans not to think he is one. As to Kalonzo's bizarre and self serving statements, he should be reminded that those who go to funerals and weep louder than the berieved often draw a lot of suspicions to themselves. Kalonzo knows, unless he is more foolish than we already know, that he stands no chance of winning any nomination process with the Hague bound amigos. If he wants to escort them in the nomination process, that is his business. He might as well accompany them to the Hague and stay there with them during the trials. Kalonzo ran to Kibaki's hands to sneak in as the VP thinking he was a lock for the 2012 race. Now he is not even an afterthought. Those folks don't trust him. If things become too hot for Uhuru (forget Ruto who is more despised by the Kibaki cabal than Raila) and they have to go to plan B it will not be Kalonzo. The big boys need Ruto now to help bring some votes to the table and see if they can convince Ruto to go with their plan B after it becomes obvious that attempting to run the country while battling for your life at The Hague is a practical impossibility in law and in practice. That Plan B will not be Kalonzo Muysoka. As to whether the voters will be convinced to follow those machinations is a complete different story. We haven't seen a damn thing yet as far as the 2012 GE are concerned.

Adongo, You are right. Why should Kajudas go around begging Uhuruto not to think that he is an opportunist? The trouble for Kajudas is that his opportunism did not start with The Hague. He lost everything the moment he reached out to Kibaki after the 2007 elections. Infact, Joe Khamisi who was one of his supporters claims that Kalonzos campaign was but a charade for he had already made a deal with Kibaki to be his VP after parting ways with ODM.
Kajudas should not forget that people such as Uhuru are very much aware of what went down. They know that he is not a person to be trusted. And that Kajudas is easy to manipulate hence their worry. So they must be keeping him just for escort purposes as you have rightly mentioned.
If I were Kajudas, I would mount a very vigorous campaign country wide to popularize myself instead of begging the Hague bound guys. Truth of the matter is that Uhuru and Ruto and not going to be in the ballot paper. I trust Mutula Kilonzos word on this. Very good reasoning,
We must remember that this so called nationwide tours by the KKK is just a sign of denial. I'm sure that whenever these fellows are alone in their beds at night, they just turn and toss and never get proper sleep. Imagine leaving the good life for one behind bars probably in Mali. I think that the rallies have a therapeutic value, otherwise the guys would go bonkers.

ICC President & Kalonzo's dilemma

PNU Alliance: Why it is still a pipe dream www.the-star.co.ke/weekend/siasa/59981-pnu-alliance-why-it-is-still-a-pipe-dreamKalonzo's unbridled quest for the presidency is best captured by an anecdote former Kabete MP Paul Muite shared with me. After the government lost in the draft constitutional referendum in 2005, Muite who was the chairman of the Committee on Administration of Justice and Legal affairs and his team, came up with a package of minimum reforms. Muite was tasked with explaining the same to President Kibaki, Opposition leaders Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, William Ruto and Uhuru Kenyatta.
Meeting Kalonzo for a breakfast meeting in a friend's house in Karen, Muite meticulously explained to Kalonzo why it was fundamentally important to hold the 2007 general elections with some minimum constitutional reforms in place. After listening quietly to Muite, Kalonzo asked him, “So, what's in it for me?”
“While everybody else had agreed that minimum reforms were a prerequisite in 2007 general elections, principally to avert a looming constitutional crisis if something happened to the presidential elections, Kalonzo was certainly not listening to what I was telling him, all this time, he was preoccupied with how he was going to be the president at whatever cost,” reminisces Muite.
This is not to talk of Kalonzo's sense of entitlement, which “Kalonzo believes he has a right to the presidency because of his pivotal role during the aftermath of the post-election violence, pointed out a PNU Alliance core member.

Kalonzo declared he was not a traitor, adding he would not benefit from the ICC ruling that confirmed charges against Uhuru and Ruto
"I had in fact told Uhuru and Muthaura not to resign since by doing so they would be betraying the interests of many Kenyans," said Kalonzo.Assistant Minister and Nithi MP Kareke Mbiuki and Yatta MP Charles Kilonzo urged the Wiper party to sack Justice Minister Mutula Kilonzo as its Secretary General, terming him a disgrace. "We have given him an office yet he is even contradicting the party leader," said Kilonzo.

In every cloud there is a silver lining. In this case the duo are treating Kalonzo with the same contempt he treated tax payers when he went on his doomed 'shuttle diplomacy.'
For a man who professes impeccable morals, his actions or lack thereof in the face of major decisions are legendary. In such instances he inevitably chooses 'Kuregarega' and hopes to finally land on the winning team after the fact.
His motto seems to be never take a resolute stand. Just swing with the winds. Yet even the good book despises look-warm people.
Little wonder the indifference being shown towards him. He is a man on the highway to irrelevance.

So whats the lineup gonna be? The big two do not trust Kalonzo, it seems he will not be either number one or two.
In case they are barred from contesting, then they need to front in some other people other than Kalonzo. Maybe Wamalwa, then other people.
I doubt if Kalonzo is gonna hang in with them much longer. He has already given up his presidential ambitions. What will be his next step?
Whats the lineup gonna be like? Jukwaa pundits, tell us.

Subsaharanite,Yours is a good one but I have a more fundamental one I would like the Jukwaa pundits to tackle before getting on to yours, especially those from the ranks of non-Raila supporters--to put it mildly: Can you please provide valid and serious reasons (no jokes) why there is this much effort against making sure Raila is not re-elected as president? I only have three but there has got to be at least 10: 1. Each one of these guys vying, except for the opportunists who are in it for the money (read up for the taking as spoilers), are vying because they want to be president and for no other reason, including what to do with the presidency, if the country is unlucky as to have any one of theme elected. 2. Ukabila and the entitlement mentality, which also drives Reason No. 1 above. ... 10. Regressing the country in the progress gained in reforms.

The G7 is full of opportunists. I am sure that the other 5 know that Uhuru & Ruto are toast, so, the best they can do is to present themselves as the 'alternative' candidate. Who in their right mind would vote the likes of Eugene & Mwakwere aka Zipapa to the presidency of the republic?
All that talk of fighting for the Uhu-ruto alliance is lip service.
Meanwhile I was tickled by this assertion from Kalonzo
Would the 'dark old days' be referring to the period when a certain Mulu Mutisya ally called Kalonzo was the organising secretary of Kanu? If so then to this guy shame has no limits.

Kalonzo is wasting his time with lots of pleas. I would advice him to be his own man and get another stratem for his campaigns. Mutula comes out really as a saint compared to his party leader. I sometimes wonder if kalonzo has got any political leave alone moral advicers. Consequently, his utterances only show what kind of president he would make if elected. A presidency that has no ears to the ground, thats serves his own interests and cares less for the common good of the country with all logics of morality and common sence thrown out of the window. Concerning the much talked of plan B if Ruto and Uhuru don't contest which of cause they won't , its bound to come a cropper. Kenyans have always been sceptic of untested projects. Moi tried with uhuru and failed the same will happen to anyone fronted by this group however neutral he could be. Moreover lets face it, the level of suspicion between the former rift valley and central is still at its highest. The recent form one selections in the two provinces spoke volumes of what grounds that alliance is built on..

When the light comes no amount of darkness shall stop it from shinning. Now we can clearly see who Kajudas are and those who are not. Kenya as a country has come a long way. Who does not know that Kalonzo was one of the psychophants during the dictatorial regime. What has changed in him now. I mean hypocrysy will not help us here. Kalonzo just need to wake up or i tend to think he is just fighting a loosing battle.

This video-clip from you tube is already on the resignation thread, but there is something in it I want to talk about as regards Kalonzo rebirth!Kibaki Raila agreement may scuttle UK's presidential bidThis was surely a historic day. Kalonzo, usually Mr. Slippery who would never want to be caught meaning anything, goes on record in a categorical statement: time check 00:51: If Uhuru is forced to resign, it is the end of the GCG as constituted. Kalonzo has thrown down a marker! The wolf is out of his sheepskin disguise. Daring any hunter to face him. It is a revealing moment in Kalonzo's political evolution. The born again christian and Mr. Clean, throws in his lot totally with an indictee who is facing charges of crimes against humanity. Kalonzo's moral impression even to himself, runs aground. This must be the necessary price of his ambition. He sells his soul to the devil in exchange for potential votes to make him president. His mephisto moment in public. The stuff of high drama and high tragedy. Then 01:06 Uhuru Kenyatta privatises the position of DPM! It is his by right, and he will stay there by force, regardless of what anybody says, writes, wants! This position was created for UK like a birthright! and embedded in law specially for him! He cannot relinquishes it under pressure from any quarter! This is a baby. A thing that thinks it can hold a nation to ransom. Uhuru may have financed Mungiki to mercilessly slaughter others, but he himself has no idea how ruthless life really can be. How many times in history has a royal family entitled to rule and lord it over others, been condemned and executed like dogs because they stood in the path of their nation's history and refused to quit in good time? The son of Kenyatta is a baby! thinking the DPM's post is his mother's nipple which he has a right to, anytime at his own terms! Asiyefundishwa na mamake atafundishwa na ulimwengu.Somebody help Uhuru, his mind is faulty. Gone too far from reality.

He cannot relinquishes it under pressure from any quarter! Jakaswanga, I have one word for you that explains why the "baby" wails. PRIVILEGE. priv·i·lege Noun: A special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to one person or group of people. Verb: Grant a privilege or privileges to: "English inheritance law privileged the eldest son". When you dig deeper as to it's etymology, privilege can be separated into the two words that combine together to make it. In English, the words can loosely be translated to "private law". In short, it IS a birthright.... Somebody help Uhuru, his mind is faulty. Gone too far from reality. ...and, with privilege in mind, Jakaswanga, we now come to the perception of "reality" borne of that privileged birthright. When one is operating from a position of privilege you cannot expect their reality to be similar to those who are not. I posit to you that Uhuru has in no way lost his perception of reality. He's actually living it. Demanding it, if you like. Here's a quote from Dubyah's former aide, Karl Rove, aka "The Architect" which clearly illustrates this point. Our leaders (globally) operate in a different sphere of reality. Here goes: 'The aide said that guys like me were "in what we call the reality-based community," which he defined as people who "believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality." I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. "That's not the way the world really works anymore." He continued "We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality— judiciously, as you will—we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors ... and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."' en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Karl_RoveSo as you & I & all of Jukwaa study their actions, they create new realities & leave us studying those against the law; numbering, underlining & boldfacing text. Always wondering why they don't do things according to the "rules". Well, somebody somewhere has decided Kenya's "actors" will do so under a different tune. The actors are to be changed & operate under a new reality (which does not mean privilege will disappear). Guess who is the new "annointed one". The man to beat...

Mutula to be grilled on contradicting Kalonzo By Vitalis KimutaiJustice minister Mutula Kilonzo is on Tuesday morning expected to explain the basis for conflicting and contradictory positions he has taken against those of his party leader Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka. He will also face hard questions from Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) leaders on why he appears to ridicule and demean the VP in public. Kalonzo and Mutula have had a weeklong public spat on the fate of the four Kenyans, whose charges were confirmed by International Criminal Court (ICC). They have also taken conflicting positions on whether Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and former Head of Civil Service, Mr Francis Muthaura, should have continued holding public office. "The Vice President, who is also the first lawyer to hold the position should know that people accused of crimes against humanity cannot be allowed to hold public office anywhere," Mutula had said. This statement was seen to demean the VP, at whose pleasure some members of the party argue Mutula holds his Cabinet seat. Mutula told off Kalonzo and critics from WDM, saying he respects the Constitution. "Kenya and her people are bigger than Wiper and Kalonzo combined. They should respect the rule of law," he had added.Speaking to The Standard, the minister who is also WDM Secretary General, said it is "immoral" for the VP and a section of party members to criticise him for interpreting the Constitution. "I am surprised by their reactions since no Wiper member was killed, raped or is in the ICC," said Mutula.....www.standardmedia.co.ke/InsidePage.php?id=2000051151&cid=4&ttl=Mutula%20to%20be%20grilled%20on%20contradicting%20Kalonzo

Or even that reality of the ODM politicians who do not see the integrity issue, but will only take positions depending on the calculated voter loss or gain!

Its true Kalonjo maybe a traitor but any presidential hopeful who is trying to ignore him at this point in time is committing a political suicide. He is known to perform miracles and I believe he still can.
This man single handedly made Kibaki retain his powers in the last general elections. He in turn made Raila once more a loser. He is capable of turning the tables on G-7 If they do not show him the respect he deserves.
He holds key to 1Million votes lest ofcourse another Ukambani champion comes up. Even if Uhuru and Ruto get all their respective votes bundled together, they cannot win the presidency without help from second tier personalities like Kalonzo given that they still need fulfil the country threshold.
If Kalonzo on the other hand takes his true nature and decides to throw his weight behind Raila, The G-7 (dis)alliance will lose the general elections.
Kalonzo should be courted, pampered and even promised very high office just for his 1 million votes. Otherwise, G-7 may never see statehouse ever.

One of his major coups in the 1920's was a marketing gimmick that made smoking cool for ladies in New York, a nasty habit that went national & then global. Let me start with your last point of offering Kalonzo some "high office" for his 1 million votes. The simple answer is that there are no other big jobs to be handed to anybody by whoever wins the presidential elections. They have the myth of leader of majority party but that is not a job, it is not some office. It is an empty shell and knowing how indisciplined our M.Ps are after they are in bunge, it is a thankless and useless job to be leader of majority party whatever that is. There are two jobs in the presidential race, namely the President and the Deputy President. That is it and what is even worse is that should there be a run off presidential election, presidential candidates who lose in round one cannot be recruited as new deputies for any of the two contenderes. Each one will be stuck with their first choice. So if kalonzo runs with Ester Murugi as his deputy and they lose that is the end of the road for him. Same with all these amigos promising their tribal supporters that they will vie for the presidency. You run you lose, potea pata. Case closed. That is the new katiba for you. As to Kalonzo's so called miracles, they are more myth than reality. Kalonzo did not give Kibaki the presidency, Kibaki stole it in broad day light. He was going to steal it by any means necessary. So let's put that myth to rest. The real nightmare for Kalonzo is the way Kibaki played him like an old one man guitar. They told Kalonzo he was the annointed one after Kibaki. Kalonzo foolishly swallowed the lies. Today Kalonzo watches restlessly as Uhuru gets his head annointed with some strange oil in Ruiru. He (Kalonzo) must be salivating to have some of that oild rubbed anywhere in his body. Kalonzo has now been reduced to a spanner boy for those facing charges at The Hague. Kalonzo jumps from Eldoret to Ruiru in minutes to show his love for the Ocampo boys and nobody even notices his cries of how sad and sorry he is that anybody would think he is an opportunist (or hyena waiting for the rotting limbs to fall) As we speak Kalonzo is at war with the Justice and Constitutional Affairs minister, Mutula Kilonzo trying to get Kilonzo to say sorry even if he doesn't mean it just so Kalonzo can show the boys that he (Kalonzo Musyoka) has full control of his party. Nothing doing. The more Kalonzo whines about his SG Mutula the more Mutula makes fun of Kalonzo and exposes his opportunism and strangely enough the more the Uhuruto mob believe Kilonzo is working for Kalonzo. Talk about a mixed up situation. If there is one thing we know about history, it is the fact that it is never static. Nothing stays the same for long. History and politics are often dynamic. Nobody can use the tools that worked for them yesterday to have the same results today. As things get hotter and murkier for the Hague crew who want to pimp the presidency on the The Hague ticket we will see how the political formations develop but my sense is that we are only seeing the rudimentary aspects of alliances that will battle it out in the GE. Kalonzo needs to get his place and agenda if he expects to have even minimal relevance. Even with all his pimping for the Ocampo boys, Kalonzo is not getting their attention and is basically becoming a laughing stock everywhere else. That does not strike me as a strategic position to take in the politics in our country today. But then again, what do I know!

Jakaswanga, Goebels was a young upstart. The true father of modern marketing or PR was Edward Bernays a nephew to Freud. One of his major coups in the 1920's was a marketing gimmick that made smoking cool for ladies in New York, a nasty habit that went national & then global. Now as to the sword of Islam (Seif al Islam Gaddafi), it took a massive NATO effort to bring his privilege to an untimely end. If you recall, the Europeans even ran out of bombs at one time & had to turn to Uncle Sam to beef up their arsenal. Kenya would've capitulated in a day! As nature abhor's a vacuum, a new Seif will promptly be created to fill in his shoes. But by all means keep an eye on all realities. However the one thing that remains constant is nothing is as it seems... b6k, For some reason I had completely forgotten about Edward Bernays! maybe because I am amazed at the philosophical attempts/ambitions of the infamous nazi-upstart! The man who wanted to get away with the biggest lie on earth ---fool all the people all the time! You know this ICC also looks like a major attempt by the powers that be to teach their infant cousins a thing or two about the responsibilities of public office. If the Kenyan treasury has 5 months to find $700M dollars or fail to pay her bills ---no salaries for the civil service for instance, including those patriot soldiers in Somalia, then it is possible whoever is the president would not mind trading UK&Ruto for that amount! NB: An EU official went to inflation ridden Belgrado and smiled: Hand over Milosevic and, rub Alladin's lamp, euros in your central bank enought to arrest that inflation, and observer EU status! That very night Milosevic was in the Hague! At what rate ksh to the dollar do you think Kibaki would put UK with a one way ticket to Amsterdam?
