Like Mang pointed out, indeed this Topic is very important, only it got started on the wrong foot and I hope Sahara Desert would remove Raila's name out of it.
Indeed there is something very wrong with Alcohol made in Kenya. Throughout the years, some spirits and wines found in Kenya, which have really good potential for becoming internationally known Brands due to their unique test, aren’t allowed in Europe like South African Food stuff and Alcohol products.
How does Kenya want to control a Nuclear power plant (leave alone two) if they still use laboratory equipment’s from the 70’s? Corruption will never allow for modernization and progress in our Beautiful country.

Subsaharanite,
You are scapegoating and reducing this to politics point scoring...... If you want to go beyond that you may as well blame EABL for enabling alcoholics and all sorgum/sugar farmers for spirits.
There are many tools available to kill yourself, one is to excessively consume cheap un inspected drinks.
There are many ways to make money one is to pass off poison as branded legitimate spirit.
The unscrupulous brewer and the drinker are the immediate culprits in this tragedy. The secondary culprit being the social conditions that lead them into the path they find themselves in.
From the news, most of the killer drinks are usually non mainstream exotic named brands or are home made.
Why cant the people be more responsible and practice moderation while the government and leaders ensure what is sold is passed by appropriate authority.
You will find that social problems are never as simplistic as you portray.

Besides, there are two issues with the post
1. It engenders ethnic hatred. The implication is that Raila is knowingly carrying out a sort of slow motion genocide on the people of central or at least trying to control them by making them zombies a point that was already alluded by the crude mwalimumtukutu fella. Such arguments provide the seeds for future conflict especially as they will we lapped up the semi-illiterate masses. 2. The issue of alcoholism in central province can not be separated from the social issues in the region in particular the poor leadership that has failed to address these issues. This stupid argument is clearly an attempt to blame leaders from outside the region when the real should go to the leadership of the region that has failed to address the social issues.
It says everything that this absurd theory first emanated not from a sociologist but from a vile propagandists by the name of Moses Kuria. Such scapegoating is the stock in trade of such fellas. Confronting such an issue would necessitate challenging the same politicians who offer him handouts.

Don't shoot me yet Railamaniacs. But I understand the spirit used to prepare some of these deadly drinks circulating in central is bought from Odinga's spectre international. I understand some of these dealers cannot differentiate the differences between methanol and ethanol. So If Odinga sells them methanol in the pretext of it being ethanol, they will bottle it and sell it to their customers. Ofcourse some of you are going to argue that the brew is laced with methanol by the dealer. It may well be. What kind of assurance does Spectre has to the dealer that what they buy is true ethanol? The question is, is Raila knowingly reducing the central votes? I am more worried at the state of the Kiambu district hospital from the video. for detox they need plenty of water basically and I did not see one drip in the 'ward'. We need to talk more about basic first aid measures and the state of our 'district' hospitals.

The opening statement of my thread preemptively predicted the outcome that Railamaniacs will shoot me down. They just did!
If Indeed use of the word 'Kyuk' is Pejorative, then it should added to the long list of explicit terms that normally get purged automatically.
This thread and title were not meant to stir any wars between Luos and Kikuyu. If it did, I need to be sent to the ICC. Someone call the prosecutor.
But the following still remains;
Fact! One spirit blender of a well known company stated that his raw material is from Spectre in the video that I posted. The Odingas are known to be major shareholders in that facility. Besides, many of them are public servants hence, their scrutiny or criticism is fair game.
Fact! Spectre is the De-facto distiller and producer of both ethanol and methanol of which the latter is somehow found mixed with the former in the spirits sold in some parts of Kenya.
Fact! Traditionally brewed and distilled spirits have never caused death associated with methanol poisoning. If that was the case, people in Nyanza and western who produce their own ethanol would have been dying in record numbers or gone blind long time ago.
However, they may have caused casualties due to ethanol poisoning (excessive consumption).
When I see APs running after old women and destroying small scale distilleries that produce top notch ethanol for local consumption right after methanol poisoning as occured, I see a coverup operation, meant to confuse the populace while the real dealers stand strong. I have not seen any AP busting a methanol dealer. These are the real killers!
Fact! This thread did not stir any controversy as one double O tries to imply. Its a pity that he did not warn me right after the initial posting. He had to wait for a whole week to make that decision, I bet he decided to do it after I posted a much stronger argument on my statement.
Even after that week, we still did not see any Luos fighting against any Kikuyu. Here in Jukwaa, all was calm, I suppose Kenya was too. So using my opening post to castigate me reminds me of what happened to the standard group a few years ago. I wonder if I rattled some Jukwaa snakes.
Its OK if If my account gets suspended or deleted all together. Jukwaa is a forum that I check out from time to time. I understand ina wenyewe. So I cannot claim partial ownership or cry if I get suspended. My views however still remain.
