Should not Nyong'o resign after the clear lack of confidence displayed by the PM in him? If the minister thought that reinstating the board was the right thing and now Kibaki and Raila think otherwise......does it take a college degree to realise what has been done? Of course unless the reinstatement decision was driven a lot more by ego rather than defend the theft, the good professor should be cooling his heels at home. Kamale, The truth is, Nyong'o should have resigned Friday last week. He ought to have mailed in his resignation from down SA. Nyong'o has been in the forefront in framing this scheme/scum from scratch. Remember him giving us a lecture how he spends 2k on lunch at Serena yet we were complaining that 320/- was too much for us? Now we know better where the 2k per day comes from and what the 320 was meant for. Unfortunately for us, his friend has only engaged the EMU which he controls from BP house. What else do we expect?

@hanali....cheap American college? you should be kidding me...right??? or you mistake Nyongo for Kazungu Kambi or Njenga Karume??? Nyongo's Almer Mater is UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO....and it ranks top 10 of Americs's top colleges! Research output of UoC is equivalent to whole of African Universities combined....and remember, Nyongo received Chancellors award in Makerere for a First Class, and President's award at UoC for best Doctoral Dissertation... That said, UoC Alumni include community organizer Saul Alinsky, Obama campaign advisor David Axelrod, Former Governor of New Jersey & former CEO of Goldman Sachs Jon Corzine,Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, and former World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz. In matters corruption, Education should not be so demeaned.... So, which River Rd. college did Hannali attend??? Kiandutu Engineering Institute of Science and Technology??? Well said. Ad hominem attacks served no real purpose. As matter of fact, me thinks Nyon'go presents the best academic credentials in the entire grand coalition cabinet.

Academic qualifications don't mean a rats behind for corrupt individuals. If they did Kiraitu would be a magnificent Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs given that he is an alumni of HARVARD LAW SCHOOLAnd we know how awful he did.

Meanwhile, the registrar of companies cannot provide details of owners of Clinix... Further the registrar could not tell the parliament committee how Pharma Holdings was incorporated without providing its directorship in its approval documents as provided for in the law.
It emerged that Pharma Holdings Limited based in the British Virgin Island that owns 99% stake in the Clinix Health Care Limited was irregularly allowed incorporation in Clinix Limited. www.kbc.co.ke/news.asp?nid=76386

A very interesting discussion on this issue:
The more I listen to the engagement especially on how David Makali, himself a well known ODM apologist enumerates the problems that the Ministry of Medical Services has gone through under Prof. Nyong'o, ranging from:
The problems of Moi Referral Hospital Eldoret (which we discussed here on Jukwaa at length);
The recent doctors' strike;
The just ended nurses' strike;
And now the NHIF
The more I ask myself whether, there is any other minister in this government as incompetent as Prof. Nyong'o. Interestingly, whenever the minister is called upon to respond to the issues, he comes across as lazy, tired, sleepy, disconnected and just plain arrogant and dismissive.
One wonders why the PM has allowed the health of Kenyans to be compromised and handled in such a haphazard manner by his very close friends.

This is the top of our government. Muga suspending Letich, Anyang' suspending Muga, re-instating Letich, Kimemia suspending everybody. The PM, general supervisor, wont be left behind either in the comedy. All very funny. For the moment. But the money is gone.

According to www.dennisitumbi.com/?p=423 the Parliamentary Service Commission has actually contracted Clinix to provide medical care to MPs, yet the Parliamentary Committee on Health seems to suggest they do not know who Clinix is. The interest that Khalwale has on the issue is also put to test.

They are instead saying that this is a dubious company that should never have been consider for such sensitive services. The question therefore is, who is behind them? And how did they come to patronize the ministry of health? I think those are the ussues we are dealing with now.

Was Dr. Khalwale pursuing the NHIF scam in the interest of kenyans or is it sour grapes for being left out from the 'clinix cake'?

Amunra,
Corruption fights back, and very hard so. I would rather we do not pay attention to the finger pointing, it is meant to divert attention from the theft at NHIF and Prof. Nyong'o's incompetence as a minister.
What Khalwale did was to only introduce his clinic (which is very normal with businesses). As we speak, he is yet to receive either a decline or an acceptance from the ministry/NHIF. I therefore do not see how the issue of conflict or sour grapes arises.
I believe this is meant to confuse and silence the people's watchman.

Let us think outside the box. who is this guy Khalwale masquerading as he people's watchman? Can we compare him with the likes of the the seven bearded sisters(Mwachofi.Abuya.Chebule,Orengo,Koigi,Chelegat Mutai,etc). My take is no,because in my opinion this guy is more of a gun on hire as opposed to the people's champion. The guy blows hot & cold air on issues that require him as a people's watchman to stand out with his head high. In addition he tends to mix politics with vital issues making him a flawed politician. Take just one example of the case of Matemu who was being accused by a company called speedman who is a debt collector & commission agent. Looking at the relationship between the two is that speedman is a guy who wanted to be paid his commission at all cost from the tax payers coffers for no job done,secondly what a coincidence that the owner(Speedman) is Khalwale's kinsman. Speaks volumes ehh!

I dont know what he learnt in Makerere- one of the greatest african Universities or the University of Chicago if this is the kind of behaviour he exhibits, He is embarassing his alumni then. Kwani RAO hawezi ambia Nyong'o kupumzika. He actually needs to retire and rest to recover from his illness. He looks tired,dehydrated and exhausted to me. Just see how he is struggling to keep awake and is almost fallng over in public, He has fought doctors, frustrated the development of healthcare in Kenya. The man needs a break to recover from the effects of radiation therapy he got whilst in Mt Zion UCSF for his prostate cancer Kenya has many people who can be ministers of health . What stopping RAO and Kibaki? Hannali, halinali, or whatever your name is, Listen to yourself Just see how he is struggling to keep awake and is almost fallng over in public, Talk to us about Nyong'os handling or mishandling thereof of medical scheme fiasco but please, leave his personal health condition out of this discussion. Unless you can confirm that you are insulated from any form of disease - cancer included. We do not want Jukwaa to be littered with insensitive talks like from yourself.

euonyiDont know when this was recorded but it was presumably done when the NHIF scam was in the pipeline. It is also being asked how Denis could get hold of it and why him and not the numerous media contacts in Kenya. Denis has gone as far as uploading confidential email correspondence involving the NHIF and private sector on the sam subject. He must have his sources. Am sure Atwoli will have something to say about this.

Looks like the scam would have been bigger that it already is. The muhidi guy on the other end is said to be the Avenue Health Care guy Thrakkar or something.

NSIS mole in action! Hot stuff, welcome to the world of untouchables in Kenya. Mta do? Not necessarily. In the last 3 years, both the technical expertise and the cost required to tap mobile phones have been going down. See, for example: www.theregister.co.uk/2011/01/03/gsm_eavesdropping/

Is the Daily Post a trustworthy source? www.kenyan-post.com/2012/05/revealed-nyongo-wired-sh-900-million-to.html These are the real thieves that Jukwaa should be focusing on. That is just too much money for one man to steal from the tax payer. No wonder the fellow can afford a 2,500 lunch at the serena daily. I have been laboring all these years making contributions thinking that I am helping my country kumbe I am just enriching some ODM official. This is very bad, it is satanic to say the least. Did someone say that s/he wishes some of these guys a very bad omen? I can actually join him/her on this one.

NHIF are now saying that the 900million was actually "invested". I wonder where the Jersey Island story originally came from. I guess in future I'll take Kenya-Post's BREAKING NEWS! items with a pinch of salt. "We liquidated Sh900,000,000 from National Bank of Kenya on 12 March 2012 and 15 March 2012 to meet various payments under the scheme." www.the-star.co.ke/national/national/77248-nhif-money-was-invested-officials-now-say

Death threats hit NHIF probe team"Allegations of a conspiracy to subdue the report by those implicated and their allies were made on Thursday as committee chairman Robert Monda claimed that his life was in danger. “My life is in danger. I have asked the relevant authorities for better security but nothing has been done, yet I am doing this for Kenyans. Are they waiting for me to die so that they can shed crocodile tears?” he asked. The chairman said he had been threatened by anonymous callers in the last three weeks, and suspected that these were people out to cover up the truths behind the controversial first quarter of the implementation of the Sh4.2 billion medical scheme." www.nation.co.ke/News/Death+threats+hit+NHIF+probe+team/-/1056/1417966/-/41dsg6/-/index.html
