Peeling Back the Mask, a 500 page tome on Miguna's political memoirs is being brought out by Gilgamesh Publishing, a publisher in the UK-not in the United States as previously speculated. Attached please find a PDF file displaying the jacket of the book. Attachments:

Mrembo:
Greetings.
Did somebody say something about NOT judging a book by its cover?
Besides, Quest for Justice is actually not the title of Miguna's book.
And surely you know that the quest for justice is a GLOBAL phenomenon with MILLIONS of foot soldiers.
As for me, I will wait to READ the CONTENTS of the book before opening my mouth.

Just checked the link posted above and my only beef so far is the price tag. My estimate is that by the time it hits here, it will be retailing around 4k from outlets brave enough to stock it (I've included shipping charges estimates). Isn't that a bit too high to thousands of Kenyans who are eagerly awaiting this volcanic tome?

My personal feeling about this is well documented. Miguna Miguna is all about Miguna Miguna. This book is more about vendetta and making money than about honest public-interest. I can't for the life of me, understand why he labored and toiled for someone who he now says aint worth a bucketful of warm piss to be President of the Republic. He suddenly woke up to,after getting booted off his promixty to power and influence, the fact that one Raila Amolo Odinga is and has never been a reformer. That's a hard sale. Fortunately for Miguna, our journalists and opinion makers are not known to ask tough questions and follow ups. If I were in an anchors chair, Miguna(and any other politician for that matter) would be sweating by the bucket, coz I wouldnt let this kind of B.S slide..

If I were in an anchors chair, Miguna(and any other politician for that matter) would be sweating by the bucket, coz I wouldnt let this kind of B.S slide.. I beg to disagree. I think it is very important and helpful for people like Miguna (our views about their person not withstanding), to come out in the open to educate and inform Kenyans on what goes on in the corridors of power. At many a times, the citizenry has been conned into electing leaders whom they should never have placed in such influential positions due to a lack of vetting and knowledge about the said leaders. If it is going to take the Migunas and the Joe Hamisis of this world to get such information to us, so be it. Our main interest should be and remain, having enough to enable us judge and make informed decisions. I am sure, those of us who will engage here after reading the book, will be in a position to differentiate lies and personal issues from credible stuff that should inform our thinking heading into the elections. This could just turn out to be the best thing that ever happened in the life of our country. On the flip-side, however, having known Miguna, I will not be surprised if I got disappointed.

Hope Miguna does not disappoint with this book...if his motivation is revenge well that’s just pathetic because he seems driven ...for what? I have no clue...

Read the book and tell me whats in it. I'm waiting. First, this is still a high-brow blog, so one has his manners to consider! [his I said, not his or hers!]. Therefore the first thing on my part is congratulations on the publication of the book to the address of Miguna. [For those of you who are cynics, be well aware filling 500 pages with nonsense is still quite a feat in itself!] But for the others who have done any amount of reading on any amount of books, you will know it is a very tabloid mentality to judge a book by its cover. It is perhaps in taking in to account this increasingly evident mentality here, that Oloo has decided to broaden the horizons of Jukwaa in the tabloid direction! I welcome books by those who have held offices next to high seats of power in Kenya. Whatever the shortcomings that may be revealed, these insights are very useful historical material and, however personal, add to the scarce body of work about this region. In this vein I highly regreted the demise of John Michuki without leaving behind his memoirs. I will read the book, and might even try to serialize it on Jukwaa --see if Miguna will haul Oloo to court on copyrights; or Oloo himself will yank them off so as not to reduce book sales, even if they increase the hits on jukwaa! JaberBenefit of doubt until such a time that the facts prove otherwise does not feature in your attitude to Miguna?

Well from the cover of the book alone, I just discovered the following spelling mistakes: - He holds......both an LLB and LLM degreees from........
- It is a must read for everyone interested in social justice and good goverance in Africa.
I just wonder how many more such spelling mistakes are to be found inside the book itself?!

Bwana oloo . Will the book be available in other african countries apart from kenya or do we have to order and have it shipped like several other books e.g "its our turn to eat"
I find it disheartening, the inability to get material of this nature penned by authors of african origin. Just the other day, a close friend asked me to 'sambaza' reverend chikane's book " eight days in september-the removal of thabo mbeki (an amzing read I say) all the way to kenya.

We have been asked NOT to judge the book by its cover, but I just couldn't help noticing the wrong picture on the cover. Shouldn't it have been Raila's jocular photo smiling back at us?
After all, we were told that this book was an attack job on Raila by a jilted advisor. I just hope Miguna is not going to bore Kenyans with self-praise: we all know he has no significant achievements worth writing on.
I still hope that there is a vicious., emotional attack on Raila coming up.

If Miguna opens a propaganda war with politicians, then he should be prepared to absorb whatever rebounds back to him. After all he has been there and cohorted with them.
