Seems MM has read A Wreath for Udomo. This is the only lesson i get from that line.
OO, where can I get a copy of the book while in NBI this weekend?

(
That caught my curiosity! It is not because it was Raila who wept ... I think some people are too fixated on what is said about Raila that they can miss big things that involve more than Raila (with Raila in the picture). This phrase calls into deep scrutiny 3 personalities: Miguna (the narrator) and Raila and Kibaki, archenemies according to the story. Oh man, if a man wept like that, this story is not about the man who wept! It is about what the man wept about! For me, this is is scaring at some level. What evil would a man have seen in another, that he would weep like so: “Eeeeh...eehhhh..eiiii...Please save me from Kibaki! Eeeeeh..eiiiii...Please don’t let mego back to that man...I don’t want to go back to Kibaki! Eeeeh...eiii...Please save mefrom Kibaki!” Raila broke down and cried, torrents of tears flowing freely down hischeeks." ... shaking uncontrollably. What is that? It has been a while since I cared about Miguna, Raila or Kibaki. But this got me, and I am curious! If Falafulani would be convincing that this is just about some bolts going loose in one Miguna Miguna, then this would degenerate into "best wishes for MM". However, it seems there is something in this! Or was Raila unnecessarily paranoid? Folks, if there is truth in this, the implications could be elephantine ... just like in "Man Wept"!

Not to understand Raila's weeping at the height of the kenyan last election fiasko, in which he fought for YOU kenyans like a liones fighting to defend her offsprings...then i call you heartless, cultureless, and beastly.
We are human with emotions and whicever way, the steam must come out. Its for you to choose which way you prefer, the beast way of banging tables and walls, throwing your aggression at everyone and everything around, killing innocent citizens or by weeping.
In fact this passage showing Railas human side is a big bonus for him, it brings sympathy for the Man. Idiots can laugh about it till to the ballot.
There was one other very powerfull Man, Helmut Kohl, Germanys longest serving Chancellor, who was fighting headon colition fighting for the leadership of the parties coalition with the other gigant union partner, franz Joseph Strauss in the 70's.
It is said that Helmut Kohl cried often after Strauss publicly insulted him yet again and again. Calling him an incompetend spineless pig stomach eater.
No one actually saw Helmut crying at the time. But at the end of his long career of 16 years as Germany Chancellor, Helmut Kohl was seeing a few times publicly crying. What a schock for the German folk. This gigant powerful man shedding tears down his mountain like cheecks. At the time he wasn't liked at all, but the tears won him some sympathy that made people forget his misgives faster than they intended to. Since then men cry openly in germany.

Since then men cry openly in germany. ksk, Another interesting take on the weeping Kohl. Did you know there was a british tabloid that always insisted on using the translation: Chancellor Cabbage! That case of Chancellor Cabbage crying in public was, according to our German tutor, a union of the Leader with her people. It was during a debate on the costs of unification, and Kohl's stupidity or wisdom in having let equate the GDR mark to the D-mark at parity was in contest. Then some patriot stood up and told Kohl to repeat after him: Deutschland u'ber alles! Mein vaterland ein land! Merh nicht!
And the man finalised My heart salutes you even if I sleep hungry, O chancellor of ONE Germany! And Helmut Kohl broke down and cried like a baby. The heart of a german recognized him as the Unification leader. His position in history assured. (You know Germany you are my all, is the last prayer German/Prussian soldiers are supposed to utter before their enemies kill them)
Methinks Raila's breaking down, the Jukwaa viral version, is what we call battlefield front-line hysterics, like in the case of an unwinding shell-shock. That is when soldiers temporarily loose their nerve, their discipline, their senses and sense of situation. They cry for their mother for instance.
It is treated by a harsh sharp slap to the face and a merciless rebuke. 99% of the affected soldiers regain their senses and nerve at once. Those who do not [recover] are immediately shot dead by their comrades --In Africa that is where psychiatrists at the front are unknown. Shot dead because they will go suicidal, and turn the gun on their comrades and themselves.
Had I been in that room with Miguna and the rest, I would have fixed Raila back in 15 seconds! a harsh sharp slap, followed by a rebuke: wek dwanyori ka omera, ni idiewo e kind ji! meru onge ka! (Collect your wits now and get on with the act, or get out of the kitchen -kehee hii!)

I wonder whether the other guys joined in the weeping and uncontrollable shaking to demonstrate their human side too or covered their faces in shame.

There are currently FOUR "Miguna" threads in the "Announcements". What a man! Shall we go for No. 5? A volunteer is needed to throw more kerosene into the fire.

Kasuku,
I guess there's a lot (of sheep) who still believe total machismoism is the hallmark of leadership!

Kasuku,
I guess there's a lot (of sheep) who still believe total machismoism is the hallmark of leadership!
Its difficult to sell the event, as Miguna reports it, as anything telling of the attributes of a strong leader. It is pathetic. I reserve my judgement of Raila with respect to this episode only on presumption that Miguna either lied about the whole incident, or spiced it up to the level of pathetic. If the report depicts the actual event, then I must wonder who the man was crying to. Who is this who was supposed to save him from facing Kibaki?

Politics being what it is and this being a campaign period expect more fables along similar lines.
