By working only two days a week for 2 -3 hours, Marende wants these stupid MPs (Sonko, Kutuny, Waititu et al) to earn a salary at par with the KRA Commissioner? ? What an imbecile this Marende is turning out to be.

Funny enough I actually agree with Marende on this. All these salaries of public officials should be harmonized. However, where I part ways with him is I believe the salaries should all be reduced drastically & the harmonization should be done in conjunction with a drastic pay cut. No more than KES 300,000 including benefits, taxed appropriately, is more than enough for any Kenyan & his/her family to live on for one month. Encouraging these oafs of MPigs that we have to use their salaries as campaign kitties is what got their salaries sky-rocketing in the first place.

This is an insult to millions of decent Kenyans out there who toil for just one dollar per day. Marende is clearly spitting on the faces of all hard working Kenyans who pay hefty taxes that end up being looted by Mpigs and other bureaucrats. He is shamelessly dancing on Martin shikuku's grave who was a real patriot and would have passed all those bills for free. I simply hate this man's guts, he clearly needs to take a hard look in the mirror and he will see what ails Kenya.

And yet Marende did not have to speak on this matter at all. He could have just given an speech encouraging the evaluators to do a good job and left it at that.
Marende has made some 'Solomonic decisions', but here, he is tripping.

And yet Marende did not have to speak on this matter at all. He could have just given an speech encouraging the evaluators to do a good job and left it at that. Marende has made some 'Solomonic decisions', but here, he is tripping. He is campaigning for a second term. Unlike MPs the speaker is voted into office by MPs. It is a clever strategy because he knows MPs do not think beyond their payslip, a fact that Hon Ruto and Hon Kenyatta have taken full advantage of. Marende is finding it difficult to imagine life without the perks and trappings that come with being speaker of the national assembly. It is a lofty office full of prestige, perhaps only rivalled by that of the President or Prime Minister. It is unlikely he will want to go back to being an MP or a Senator. Politically that would be a demotion. From speaker, he can only go upwards. Meaning either presidency or his/her running mate. Marender was plucked from obscurity in the backbench and selected for post of speaker to drive the ODM agenda in the legislature. As you can remember ODM promised reform. It was and still is a party of change. Marende has fallen short in some instances.

Some of us smelt this Marende guy from a far long time ago. But then, what should we expect from this ODM legislator turned speaker? All these ODM guys are the same, cut from the same cloth. They lie to Kenyans during the day that they understand their plight, but at night they stub and push the knife into Wanjikus chests very hard.
Havent we read from Miguna just how all these machinations are driven right from the top? Interestingly, the genesis of Miguna's tribulations are partly attributed to his calling out of Mr. Marende for his support for evasion of paying taxes by our MPs. We can therefore easily infer the foundation of Marende's thinking, it is deeply rooted in his party's philosophy.
Even more recently, haven't we seen Job's spirited efforts to cover for the party's and its leader's shortcomings on matters integrity? When push came to shove they took exactly the same positions they ascribe to masters of impunity. This is a serious problem that Kenyans must remain alive to, or else crooks will continue to patronize our politics for years on end. The only encouragement at this time is that, their masks are being peeled right before our eyes.
