I have been inundated with requests from people from different parts of the world who want to join Jukwaa.
Here is a very recent request:
I am therefore, hereby re-opening the doors again-until SUNDAY, April 7, 2013.
There are many reasons being given:
1. There is no bigotry on Jukwaa; 2. Jukwaa members appear to be very intelligent and mature; 3. We have a lot of good writers. People keep crying for Adongo, Job, Miguna and some of the former members to come back; 4. Jakaswanga, Otish otish, Kathure, b6k, podp, Phil, Nereah, Omwenga, Mwalimumkuu, Mank are just a few of the many Jukwaa members who keep getting praised by followers of Jukwaa who contact me privately.
I must say that ALL of the new members who joined us recently have been behaving perfectly.
So I will take a chance and admit a new batch in.
Of course, I can always chuck them out if they get cheeky.
Welcome to Jukwaa once again!

Hey OO,
I am ardent reader of your blog and forum, Jukwaa.
Kudos to the good job that you are doing at providing a sane and balanced platform for discourse.
I would also like to commend you for opening up another week of registration. I too will take advantage of it this time around and register.
One component that I would like to suggest and hopefully see you implement is a charity event or drive. This would be geared towards helping our underprivileged brethren in Kenya (Orphanage, homes or shelter), maybe around the Christmas season.
Maybe set up a Jukwaa PayPal account so we who reside abroad and at home can contribute and give back towards making a difference. I have seen it done on other forums.
Be Blessed.
Regards,

I think what makes Jukwaa stand out (along with deepcogitation.com) apart from the intelligent discussions, is the zero tolerance for bigotry and disgusting language (insults)...At least for me, this was the main appeal.

Jakaswanga a prolific writer? Genius:Here is what dictionary.com informs me: Oloo, let me help genius become even more genial with some even more medieval latin: prolific also means sh!tty. And sh!tty means sporadic! Wonderful genius cracked the code! and discovered the man is insulting me! and he genius has written to my defence! How on earth can I be sh!tty and sporadic! No way Ha ha! ;D I am frankly, genius2! as I will be registering my second handle in our new intake drive!

One of you is carping that several Jukwaa contributors were left out.
How about Abdul, Sadik etc?
And I say simply this:
The problem with lists is that by definition they are incomplete.
There is always room at the end.
My point is that people admire Jukwaa for the many able and gifted writers who are of course more than two, three or four dozen.
Among other reasons why they like Jukwaa...

Onyango Oloo Jukwaa Administrator OO,With due respect, can you also respectfully allow me to respond as follows: I thought as members of this board we are entitled to know what you, as the admin, are upto in terms of both the short and long-term goals of this site. And I always thought it was gonna be a consultative process the way it used to be a while back. I thought, as a member of Jukwaa, I am allowed to ask questions. You know what, I'm just imagining at this moment in time or in the future our President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta telling Kenyans to allow him to manage the country the way he feels like and deems fit just because Jomo Kenyatta, his father, founded and administrated Kenya! If it is a one-man show you want to impose on Jukwaa members, who are the backbone of the Jukwaa board, then we now know!! Thanks and keep moving!! By the way, have you forgotten what you personally and your very able moderator did to Adongo and Job both of whom you now seriously want to have back on this board? Leadership is about being a servant and not about lordship! I have spoken, well cognisant of the consequences. I'm not looking for mercy from anyone, not even from my own brother!

Einstein:Now you know. Incidentally, what did I and Kathure do to Adongo and Job?This is quite a shocking claim, given that Adongo was with me when I launched Jukwaa. Perhaps you forget that HE decided to step down as Moderator because he felt it would stifle his contributions as an ordinary member. And he made a public announcement right here that he was "hanging up his keyboard." Here is the thread: jukwaa.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=7319&page=3#106393And this is what Adongo says in that thread: Folks, Since I still have my registration in Jukwaa I will say a few things. ....6. All said I will be talking with Oloo as we always do to put up some of the stuff I have to do. The idea that adongo had some problems with Oloo is far from the truth. Oloo is my buddy and we talk all the time. The bit about Job has really astounded me. Can we move on from this? This was a simple announcement about membership.
